The logical reason to why they’re doing this is probably to make up for the lack of Caelus official content from 1.0 to 1.4 also the fact that Stelle is more popular than Caelus and is trying to balance the attention they receive from the audience. Now you would think now why just don’t keep posting Stelle content she’s clearly popular and would make money that way? Well no because the audience wouldn’t grow that way if they keep posting Stelle and advertise her with Firefly showing their intimacy then it would turn off a lot of people not everyone is into same sex paring and people who are into regular paring is still broader in contrast. Unrelated, but similar incident happened on GFL2 CN side. To put it simply, in GFL1 you have an oath / marriage system. GFL2 is a continuation of GFL1. In GFL2, one of the heroines is rumored to have a relationship with another male. The Community raged and scrutinized every single minute detail of the rumor (because they feel they got cucked). GFL2 changed to remove / genderbend him. But still left some clues about his existence.
TLDR; Marriage from previous game has a rumor of players getting cucked in the next game. Next game got a nasty burn and outrage from the community.

The balance is very thin. Seeing just Stelle for example may convince hivemind that she is canon and vice versa. Because people in general tend to push their own headcanons, it’s only natural. And people who play certain gender prefer to see their chosen character in PVs and stuff. It is also normal, because it immerses you in the story, and HSR is all about “making choice you won’t regret”, inherently people might get frustrated if they think they made wrong choice of MC. So both sides make such posts.
But anyways, it doesn’t matter if it’s Stelle stans or Caelus stans who start nitpicking about number of appearances of their character, it’s always people who have nothing better to care about than that. Simply put - game addicted no-lifers. If you are frustrated to see Caefly - go touch grass. If you are frustrated to see Stellefly - same medicine.

Ever seen a youtube comment section with caefly or stellefly content? I have. And i have never seen so many slurs before stepping foot in them. This combined with people like that homophobe in the tweet above don't help. They're not an isolated case either as many people have said that caefly is more valid than stellefly even though they're the same person.
So when mihoyo seemingly encourages people like that by pushing out trailers with romantic undertones and unique scenes for caefly while leaving stellefly as an afterthought by giving them literal low effort cutscene reels that they call "version trailers" and a single trailer with reused Stelle shots from space comedy it's no wonder they get angry and disappointed especially since even if they're quiet as a mouse these online spaces will still shit on them by calling them "fetishizers" and "yuri-porn addicts".

Eh, I think there are toxic people on both sides. Het shippers were feeling neglected after thinking the Yuri shippers were being fed more. Then once the het shippers finally got fed, the Yuri shippers got cranky since they're so used to being fed instead. The het shippers are being extremely defensive because they feel like "can't you just let us have a w for once." So some of the het shippers are also getting cranky. Part of that crankiness manifests as generalizing the other side, which is something both sides are doing.
Regardless of whether either side is right or wrong, trying to shit on someone else's good time just because it's not the thing you personally wanted is shitty. It's shitty when the Yuri shippers do it and it's shitty when the het shippers do it. But if the het shippers have been feeling like they were being neglected or even marginalized in some cases (on a micro scale) we should ask ourselves why. Then we can understand this intense defensiveness. Whether the het shippers were ACTUALLY being neglected is another issue. They FEEL like they were neglected, which is the source of the tension.
Of course, I say this all in the context of Hoyo fan communities. Obviously het ships are much more widely accepted outside of that context. And also of course, this doesn't apply to everyone on either side. It's just the vibe I've been picking up for a good while now.

And as for bringing up toxic examples from both sides and how that plays into the arguments that happen, I think it's much more relevant and appropriate to discuss the opinion of an influential content creator (Mina) rather than a screenshot of some random shitty Redditor.

I don't agree tbh. No one is forcing anyone to view it as romance honestly. Like this is really light compared to other gachas. If we look just in game, the most we get is teases from other characters and that's it. I personally didn't view any of it as romantic either, same for the ayaka and yoimiya quests, and the ei one as well. Look at fgo, hi3, ba, nikke, etc.
We are not forced to do anything because we are not the trailblazer. We are just observers to their story. Yes we get a modicum of control over TB or Geralt for that matter but we are not them.

The logical reason to why they’re doing this is probably to make up for the lack of Caelus official content from 1.0 to 1.4 also the fact that Stelle is more popular than Caelus and is trying to balance the attention they receive from the audience. Now you would think now why just don’t keep posting Stelle content she’s clearly popular and would make money that way? Well no because the audience wouldn’t grow that way if they keep posting Stelle and advertise her with Firefly showing their intimacy then it would turn off a lot of people not everyone is into same sex paring and people who are into regular paring is still broader in contrast. On hindsight Hoyo haven’t really forgotten about Stelle she appeared in the other Penacony PVs too it’s really just Hoyo cycling through their MCs

There's a relatively popular vtuber that is often seen streaming with the HSR EN VAs that said (and I quote): "the last 10 seconds of that trailer was unnecessary and really reduce how powerful of a character firefly could be but instead they reduce her to waifu like COME ON" She got backlash for this because she's a Yuri shipper and is unlikely to have said this if the character at the end of the trailer was Stelle and not Caelus. It just gets worse with context considering the usual degenerate unhinged things she says if it's a lesbian ship (which is actually welcome). It's just that people don't appreciate hypocrisy from people like this.
I was there for that. People started posting video clips of her doing the exact same thing she was complaining about when she was reacting to the Tatalov trailer which featured Stelle and Firefly. Not to mention the amount of down bad Robin x Firefly posts she frequently makes. The whole thing was a hot mess.

Unrelated, but similar incident happened on GFL2 CN side. To put it simply, in GFL1 you have an oath / marriage system. GFL2 is a continuation of GFL1. In GFL2, one of the heroines is rumored to have a relationship with another male. The Community raged and scrutinized every single minute detail of the rumor (because they feel they got cucked). GFL2 changed to remove / genderbend him. But still left some clues about his existence. TLDR; Marriage from previous game has a rumor of players getting cucked in the next game. Next game got a nasty burn and outrage from the community.

The balance is very thin. Seeing just Stelle for example may convince hivemind that she is canon and vice versa. Because people in general tend to push their own headcanons, it’s only natural. And people who play certain gender prefer to see their chosen character in PVs and stuff. It is also normal, because it immerses you in the story, and HSR is all about “making choice you won’t regret”, inherently people might get frustrated if they think they made wrong choice of MC. So both sides make such posts. But anyways, it doesn’t matter if it’s Stelle stans or Caelus stans who start nitpicking about number of appearances of their character, it’s always people who have nothing better to care about than that. Simply put - game addicted no-lifers. If you are frustrated to see Caefly - go touch grass. If you are frustrated to see Stellefly - same medicine.

That first paragraph is fair and agreeable. As for the second point some yuri shippers tend to be too reactionary, but at the same time they don't always get offended out of thin air. Ever seen a youtube comment section with caefly or stellefly content? I have. And i have never seen so many slurs before stepping foot in them. This combined with people like that homophobe in the tweet above don't help. They're not an isolated case either as many people have said that caefly is more valid than stellefly even though they're the same person. So when mihoyo seemingly encourages people like that by pushing out trailers with romantic undertones and unique scenes for caefly while leaving stellefly as an afterthought by giving them literal low effort cutscene reels that they call "version trailers" and a single trailer with reused Stelle shots from space comedy it's no wonder they get angry and disappointed especially since even if they're quiet as a mouse these online spaces will still shit on them by calling them "fetishizers" and "yuri-porn addicts". Eh, I think there are toxic people on both sides. Het shippers were feeling neglected after thinking the Yuri shippers were being fed more. Then once the het shippers finally got fed, the Yuri shippers got cranky since they're so used to being fed instead. The het shippers are being extremely defensive because they feel like "can't you just let us have a w for once." So some of the het shippers are also getting cranky. Part of that crankiness manifests as generalizing the other side, which is something both sides are doing. Regardless of whether either side is right or wrong, trying to shit on someone else's good time just because it's not the thing you personally wanted is shitty. It's shitty when the Yuri shippers do it and it's shitty when the het shippers do it. But if the het shippers have been feeling like they were being neglected or even marginalized in some cases (on a micro scale) we should ask ourselves why. Then we can understand this intense defensiveness. Whether the het shippers were ACTUALLY being neglected is another issue. They FEEL like they were neglected, which is the source of the tension. Of course, I say this all in the context of Hoyo fan communities. Obviously het ships are much more widely accepted outside of that context. And also of course, this doesn't apply to everyone on either side. It's just the vibe I've been picking up for a good while now. Update: Oops, forgot to say something. And as for bringing up toxic examples from both sides and how that plays into the arguments that happen, I think it's much more relevant and appropriate to discuss the opinion of an influential content creator (Mina) rather than a screenshot of some random shitty Redditor.

I don't agree tbh. No one is forcing anyone to view it as romance honestly. Like this is really light compared to other gachas. If we look just in game, the most we get is teases from other characters and that's it. I personally didn't view any of it as romantic either, same for the ayaka and yoimiya quests, and the ei one as well. Look at fgo, hi3, ba, nikke, etc.
We are not forced to do anything because we are not the trailblazer. We are just observers to their story. Yes we get a modicum of control over TB or Geralt for that matter but we are not them.
