Happy cake day!
I’ve had a ‘71 Ioniq hybrid about a month now (maybe a little less) and it’s averaging 64mpg in the tank, but on the warmer days it’s easily hitting 70mpg.
I’m so impressed with it - it’s saving me at least £50 a month on fuel.
I was thinking of getting it but waiting for the hatch version, hope they’re similar price. how’s it like when planting your foot down? / overtaking etc.
I dont think they will release hatchback model in this variant though my dealer said there will be definitely premium versions later on. Overtaking is smooth and quiet fast in the highway thanks to Duel Clutch Transmission. Engine takes in fuel only when the speed hits 55-60km. Driving below that speed, it feels like an EV vehicle. I am yet to try overtaking in sports mode or up shifting gears though i would say its feels faster when accelerating using the battery. Apart from DCT being weird driving in slow speed and the unstoppable safety features, i dig this practical car.
Well most of the internet sources say a hybrid hatch is coming later this year, i30, I’m sure the battery might be a bit smaller? but there’s YouTube reviews of it already it’s a got a turbo too
that's 69 mpg, very impressive
I was in doubt before buying this ay. Figured DCT ain't lying.
