Beanbith

I love the way it looks. Was the main reason I got it.

WorldlyAd9580

Ew

WorldlyAd9580

I just saw one in person and had to jump on here to share my disgust

Beanbith

It’s ok, not everyone likes the same thing, is what it is.

BigandTallGuy

its boxy. lots of boxy designs out there. if you don't like boxy then you won't like this vehicle. personally I thought the previous generation was a generic bubble that looks like every other generic bubble car out there that just have different trim shapes. I love a boxy design, so I love the look, even though there are design elements on the 24 I certainly don't like. I'm particularly impressed that they could make a vehicle so boxy looking while obtaining a drag coefficient of 0.294 or roughly the equivalent of the gen 5 corvette.

IntelligentCandy8716

LOL. I'd like to see the data on that number because many posts I've seen indicate the MPGs are way off from the EPA values.

BigandTallGuy

Drag coefficient isn't the only factor when determining the MPGs. the gen 5 corvette didn't have great documented MPGs. I found the design to be interesting in that they were able to make a boxy looking car with subtle curves to achieve a great CoD. if you think they lied, I'm sure it can be tested.

Optimal_Method2293

You obviously haven’t the slightest clue what you’re talking about. My 2002 100% stock C5 got 34.5 highway at 70-75 for the entire 7 years I had it before picking up my C7.

BigandTallGuy

I edited my above comment to say "great 'documented' MPGs" https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/PowerSearch.do?action=noform&path=1&year1=1997&year2=2004&make=Chevrolet&baseModel=Corvette&srchtyp=ymm&pageno=1&rowLimit=50

PTK1412

I love mine. I have seen a lot of people talk about the back being weird but how much time do you really spend looking at the back of your car anyway. But the interior and the front end is really what sold me on it.

foxhunter

It's like the rear of those old Toyota vans.

RustyRapeaXe

No, I agree. I dont want a knockoff Range Rover. I'll probably skip this body style and hope the next design is better.

Waste_Rooster_8337

Agreed

redditrody

You’re gonna wait 10 years lol 😂

RustyRapeaXe

No ill get something else and see what they look like in a few years.

Mimbs_66

The new Santa Fe is definitely a nice redesign on the model.. 2023 is just down right ugly.

lewis_1102

Everyone hated it at first and now I mostly see people praising its looks

CloudsGotInTheWay

I bought one of the last 2023's for just this reason. This design just isn't my thing. To each their own.

JK92915

Same here. Got a ‘23. In ‘26 I will probably switch to something else.

Mimbs_66

There’s no way you enjoy the 23 style over the 24. The 23 just looks like a confused 2000’s minivan

CloudsGotInTheWay

As I mentioned, to each their own. The 23 has some curves to it, unlike the shoebox on wheels 2024s. You could rent billboard space on the sides and backs of that thing. To me, it's boring.

Mimbs_66

Definitely to each their own. The 2023 style that is on every crossover makes me sick to look at honestly, almost a physical reaction when looking at them

HeyOkYes

I like it. I like that there's a company taking aesthetic risks in their design.

SalamanderForever

I liked the boxy look of the exterior, and the openness of the interior which is why we bought 2 and switched from Land Rover and Mazda.

Mimbs_66

Land rovers are overpriced lemons anyways

salmon_burrito

I am yet to see one in person. From videos, I can't really like the rear, but it has become quite practical because of it. Hope to change my impression after seeing one in person.

Mimbs_66

I bought one, can confirm the rear ends are weird, but the functionality of everything outweighs the weird tail lights

Rkramden85

I saw the first one in person last week. Not a fan of the rear but the interior is really nice. I have issues with Hyundai reliability so it’s not for me, but like I said that interior is fire.

Opposite-Ad-3933

The interior is a similar to cars that cost $30-50k more. And that’s what will make this car sell like hot cakes

Opposite-Ad-3933

The inside is fantastic, but the outside definitely has some detractors

Dmk5657

I saw a video where a guy mentioned a Hyundai rep told them the Sante fe was expected to bring in new customers from outside the brand. They didn't think existing Sante fe owners would like it. BTW the actual size of the new one is really not much larger. The gains are mostly from the boxier shape.

Maggie7420

And it did. I was set on driving my Jeep Commander until the wheels fell off since no company was making boxy SUVs. I was holding out for the new Toyota Land Cruiser but my Genesis driving spouse had other plans. Drove to the mountains over the weekend and it drives smoothly, dogs were content with the space, not much road noise, has a ton of features I’m excited to figure out how to work, since the Jeep was mostly analog. Also love it takes cheap gas. I get it looks like a Ford Flex merged with a Land Rover, but hope it has better reliability than those two brands.

kpt1010

I think it looks great, but 2023 model had better deal so I don’t wait for one :(

meldanell

Agreed. I love my 2022.

bdavid81

We fell in love with the new design and that's the primary reason we bought one.

socalbehr

I love it which ia why I went and bought it as soon as the color combo I wanted in a Caligraphy hit the lot. 1,100 miles in and no regrets.

dpatt11795

Love it personally. 2200 miles in and no regrets. The interior on my limited is stellar!

VisualStoryteller026

I happen to love mine. The look of the 24's is what inspired me to buy now. That said, design is subjective and I can see why people might not like the look given how much of an outlier it is amongst others in the segment. Is it derivative of a Land Rover Defender or Ford Flex? Yeah probably. Is the back end of this vehicle a departure of the design language of the rest of the car, yeah probably. To each their own, but you are not on an island on your POV.

Swantonbombthreat

too bad it’s a sweet car

Secret_Bus_3043

Except the rear, the car looks good

EmbarrassedSalary998

Nah I think just the rear end is a love it or hate it kind of thing… or in my case a ‘get used to it’ kind of thing. Vehicle is great ..,

JayPee411

I’m not a fan of it

therealmaz

Not a fan. I too love my 2023.

omarqad3

Yes you are 😂

Apprehensive_Bar6609

Your not alone!

Automatic-Taro-4267

I’m not a fan of it. I prefer my 2020 design, but I understand how it can be someone else’s cup of tea.

OhSoSally

It wasn't designed for boomer style, that might be why. 😉

Ok_Day_5356

We purchased a 23 Santa fe calligraphy instead of the 24 for this very reason, though we almost ignored this reason due to the 23 model look similar to other previous versions thx Kia boys

Hidr0

Hate to say it but you’re right. Is ugly

Mimbs_66

Have you not witnessed the atrocity that is the confused minivan we call the 2023 Santa Fe?

homeslce

24 Santa Fe is a hot mess. Not a fan and I don’t understand the positioning. The beauty of the 2023 version was that it was a nice in between size. Bigger than most mid size two row SUV but not as big a three row if you did not need a third row. Now, it is almost as big as the Palisade. If you want something that big, get a Palisade or Telluride or Highlander or Pilot or etc. Santa Fe was a unique size. Now it is just bloated with wierd square wheel wells and a minivan rear end. Just get a minivan because that is what it is without the sliding door rather than a bloated knock off Rover.

BigandTallGuy

its 2 inches longer, and 2-4 inches taller than the 2023 model. I'm not sure why that is considered such a radical departure. It is the same length as my 2011 Hyundai sonata, a midsize sedan. the palisade in 7 inches longer than the 2024 Hyundai santa fe. So 2 inches is a radical departure but 7 inches Isn't a big enough difference?

Dizzy-Pilot-7705

Great comment 👍 it was the perfect size.. We pack for the beach ⛱️ No problems.. The 3rd row is useless.... Not try to put shit on the roof. Huh...

Mimbs_66

As an owner of the 2024, it is no where near a hot mess. And definitely not huge the way you are claiming. The 24 Santa Fe drives like a mid sized sedan while offering the space of a larger vehicle. It really just seems like you want to hate for the sake of hating honestly.

CharGoddess

After seeing it in person a couple times it does look better, but not my style. I don't mind a boxy car, but it is too boxy and I'm not keen on the H lights. Love the interior though.

Dognutz39

https://youtube.com/shorts/M9bwwQ0YxDQ?si=TWWPejXTvzg5Tj7k I'm looking at this model. The Caligraphy trim

Past_Outside_462

My wife said it looks like it’s from Minecraft. 😆 It is definitely polarizing at best. I think it’s a design that will look more “normal” the more you look at it. I applaud Hyundai for breaking from the norm and doing something different. I worked for Land Rover/Jaguar and I don’t think it looks like one, not to “defend” one or the other. I guarantee that it will be 100% more reliable, however!

DazzlingOutside6277

I could not believe it was Ada ta fe! The 2023 model is gorgeous, the new design looks like a cereal box! So ugly, no lines, no trim nothing! Who would buy it!?? Some body with Land Rover taste on a Hyundai beer budget???

DazzlingOutside6277

So sorry beanbith? You bought one dog crap ugly vehicle! A Yugoslav looks better than that piece of crap design!

The_Taurus_70s

It is really ugly! Before I saw it in person I thought it looked good! Then I started seeing them on the road, and omg, the back end is really ugly, the whole shape is pure ugliness.

No_Consequence_5358

It's plain and unattractive....

Better-Bull

The front end is cool, back end is god awful

madaddyml

Just saw it at my workplace parking lot, only to come here and look for this post. Yes, that thing is UGLY, considering all the other Hyundai designs.

Senorharambe2620

It’s hideous

sampavloff

You should look at sportage , its gorgeous

PhoeCalvok

I hadn't. But I do like it. Wish it had a little more cargo space. I was trying to get a little bigger than the 03 Santa Fe. I go camping a lot and have been using a cargo carrier.

GainCompetitive1062

If you are dirty, Mike and the boys dirty, Mike and the boys, it's a great place for a soup kitchen dirty, Mike and the boys, it's a great place for a soup kitchen, but I would not drive the incredibly ugly thing.

GainCompetitive1062

It would be a great place It would be a great place to store horseshit at the farm.

Waste_Rooster_8337

At first I liked it then I saw the back. And  didnt like it.

No_Day4254

It's just a Kia Carnival with different doors. I hate it.

Flimsy-Schedule9638

Ur not the only one 2024 Santa Fe is uglier than I can believe believe

Flimsy-Schedule9638

Toyota and Hyundai messed up the new cars they are ugliest

Flimsy-Schedule9638

No

SubstantialLocal9437

I saw one yesterday and was like “what is that ugly thing?” Shocked it was the new Santa Fe. From the back it looks like a generic boxy car (not truck) from the 1980s. It was an ugly rust color too, which didn’t help.

TargetSufficient4755

this car is one of the ugliest cars of 2024 ugliest suv of 2024 in my opinion. front resemble me a fu.king duck, but the rear is even worse, it looks like duck ass but in 8bit, whole car look like some concept car edited on some 8bit Atari computer. very disapointed, i loved previous version.

CowPunkRockStar

It’s just you!

Belistener07

You aren’t the only one, but no one wants to drive the egg shaped old Santa Fe these days. The new one is amazing. So spacious and smooth. Try it out, you might like it. I’ve gotten more compliments about this vehicle than any other I’ve owned. To each his/her own I suppose.

TargetSufficient4755

u admit its ugly . they could make all this great things u ment and still make a good looking car but they make this....ugly looking car!!!

bdavid81

His/Her/They/them/xer/xi/whatever the fuck else people want to make up

bagoflees

Possible. I have no suv interest but I find it to be an improvement.

mrsketchum88

I love the styling. Party in the front, business in the back 😎 👍

CaptainUnderwear

Everyone that has seen mine in person can’t stop raving about it. I love just about every aspect of my Calligraphy!

IncidentSerious5998

No....I like the front end but that rear just hasn't done anything for me yet. Kind of looks cheap. I've had 3 Santa Fe's with my 2022 being the latest one. Not a fan yet! 😊

New_Engine_7237

Have the 2007 and don’t like the new style. Climbed through it at the NY auto show. Interior is real nice but it’s too boxy. Glad I’m not replacing mine for another couple of years; hope they modify the style.

vato915

I loved it when I saw it and I immediately wanted one... until I saw the rear.

camplate

Agree. Just buy a Ford Flex.

CaptainUnderwear

I don’t get the Flex comparison. I feel like those commenters are just repeating something they heard someone else say.

Disastrous_Fox_2346

So ...you think everyone is just copy-cats, eh? Orrrr...maybe it really does look like s flex ...and is why so many people are saying that! ..that and a cross between a Ford Flex and Land Rover!

stinkyenglishteacher

About to get a Santa Fe. I would have loved a Flex- it was my fave car- but Ford stopped making it. I absolutely love the new styling.

PhoeCalvok

I was actually thinking Subaru.

tmac3life

I’m coming from a Subaru and the quirky redesign of the 2024 Santa Fe has sold me

macayos

I think it’s ugly. I wish they made a 2024 plug in hybrid in the old style. I love my 2014 but it is probably nearing it’s end at 170k miles. And I am sad I will have to buy that new box or a used 2023 when I am finally needing to get a newer Santa Fe.

PhoeCalvok

Are the newer hyundai's not lasting as long?

cualeselproblema

Defenedly is the ugly car in the street's sorry Hyundai but ohh it's true and nothing more then true because Kurt Angle said so!
