I just upgraded mine to 2 Terabytes, 3,000mAh battery and Rockbox.

Very cool! I want to do this! Which iflash are you using? Have you filled it up? How is the shuffle with 2tb?

cm2881

I an using the Tarkan Quad flash card and two micro sd cards. One is 1.5 Terabytes and the second one is 512 Gigabytes. I am using Rockbox, I don't use shuffle as I like to listen to whole albums, one at a time. I still have 998GB left :)

Sacredpotion24

This right here!! 100% Did the same mods and love it!! As for myself I went with an iflash-quad & 4x 512gb micro sd cards.

Rockbox (I have never used it) to add a different ui. Bigger battery and sd card memory. A bit tough to open up, but plenty of parts are available to keep it going. Best of all, load it up, kick back and enjoy music.

Storage upgrades, if it's a true 7th Gen you can enjoy the absurdity of 2TB at slower than usb 2.0 speeds. Haptic feedback, like those vibration feelings you get on your phone that replacing the clicking sound the wheel makes. Also built in Bluetooth adapters and case swaps.

Rockbox: gameboy emulation, mod module player, support for almost any audio format in existence, 615 themes to choose from etc.

IlloChris

Can it also run hifi audio?

Notsureperfect

Yes on rockbox flacs work but on stock os you need to convert them to alac

sandlbn

It can play anything up to 44.1khz / 48khz 16-bit. Even if Rockbox can read higher-resolution audio, it will start shuttering.

There were some official games that were released for iPod Classic/5th gen, but afaik they are inaccessible from the iTunes store and the modding community still haven't found key decryptions for them.

5th gens can be [modded to add those additional games](https://www.reddit.com/r/IpodClassic/comments/rzu7mw/how_to_add_the_custom_cracked_game_firmware_and/). Classics (i.e. 6th/7th gen) can't, as that generation introduced the firmware encryptions.

Put some music on it. Loads of fun.
