I could be completely wrong and sorry if I am but I think we’re Sukuna is so strong and with how much control over Megumi’s body, that he could withstand so many of them compared to Mahito since he is a cursed spirit and not in a humans body.

PREDICTION:
It is Gojo. Megumi will wake up. However, Sukuna’s new form/body will be the manifestation of his and Kenjaku’s will, which will be the merger.

Real talk. This is what I think will happen, from more likely to least likely:
1) Is Gojo's Ghost welcoming/taunting Sukuna, Sukuna realizes Yuji is going to use cleave to cut the rest of his limbs or sever the connection between his soul and Megumi's. He feels fear for his life for the first time in ages. This leads to him awakening a new form on the verge of death. Which culminates in a one on one with Yuji mirroring Mahito's final fight. Sukuna will lose this battle and just like the battle with Mahito something will steal Yuji's kill, my guess Sukuna will start the merger forcibly as a final fuck you to Yuji.
2) A ghost of a person close to Sukuna indicating him he is on the verge of death. This will start the long awaited flashback to Sukuna's life during the Heian era.
3) Yuta using Gojo's technique, Sukuna gets brutalized, he forcibly starts the merger out of desperation.
4) Is really Gojo, but guys do you really think Gege will do this?
I heard another interesting theory that it’s Yuji’s domain expansion, because it wasn’t Sukuna who said domain expansion- so basically, Yuji is capable of temporarily reviving the dead in his domain. Idk how much technical merit that theory has but it is interesting
It could be that Yuji made a binding vow and his domain is about giving people the chance to have the death they wanted, since that was his original desire. I.e he can call on those who are dead who feel they died wrongly and give them a second chance at a proper death.
Not necessarily it also depends how he dies. If goes like a bang, that would be fine. I don't think this is the last arc however. Jump has not announced anything even tough the fight is nearing its conclusion, meaning something is going to happen.
I mean, Yuji lived without a heart for like a week. Cant imagine Gojo struggling to live without legs. Although I feel like this is just some character holding up Gojo’s body in the smoke to try and psych out Sukuna. GeGe would probably only bring Gojo back just to kill him again.
Season 2 covered 73-74 chapters. So season 3 can cover all of the Culling Games up until Sukuna twist in Ch 212.(75 chapters) And Season 4 would cover Shinjuku Showdown.
Wait, this is gonna be a wild theory of mine. But what if what Yuji is doing, is the same thing Goku did to beat Frieza was have everyone lend like energy to him (I'm not too sure I haven't watched DB), but instead of energy it was like the memories of his fallen friends and teachers.
Like Gojo is the first "ghost" to show up, but then it would be like Nobara (if she's dead), Nanami, Junpei, etc. And with that he would get a huge morale boost and power boost to then defeat Sukuna.

I do think we'll have the merger plot as a final arc. If the ending of JJK is Sukuna dies, it'd be a very boring ending, imo
