Assuming he's on the team next season, he could be more valuable and bounce back in a role player role where he doesn't have the pressure to be the next WR1 or even WR2 of the Super Bowl champs. I think the pressure got into his head last year especially with the drops early on and it snowballed from there rapidly. He can be extremely valuable as a returner w the new kickoff rules & do the gadget plays like sweeps & handoffs that Hardman would do. That's the only way he stays on the team

The team starts OTAs with a playbook already set, and with Hardman on another team's roster we have no idea whether those were part of last year's plans. In order for plays to be successful every person on the field has to be proficient at their job. Add in Nagy as the new OC, and it certainly wasn't the same playbook as 2022.
As I said in a previous comment, I'm not some huge Mecole fan. I can think of a ton of receivers I'd rather have. But if we're filling out the roster with low-tier guys that can be productive in one form or another, he's gotta be on the short list just because he has added value in previous years.
