I think Star Wars is fine, but adding Marvel could open up the flood gates to an oversaturation of Marvel worlds from the already oversaturated MCU in all future entries. Too many stories, too many of the same old city settings and same old plot, and Sora and the crew would just not work and have good chemistry with most of them. Only marvel film I can see KH working well with is like Guardians of the Galaxy, but just that really
I'd be open for a Marvel world set in Wakanda or outer space, but I really don't want any urban settings. San Fransokyo was fun, but it also satisfied my need for that type of environment in KH.

We even got the character types: Sora for Speed (flomotion) Goofy for Power (tanky and more reliant on doing physical damage) and Donald for Fly (literally a duck).

If you want to take a closer look at the worlds of old Kingdom Hearts games i'd recommend checking out a website called noclip.website. There's a bunch of maps from old video games there where you can just fly around with a free look camera. It's really fun and interesting.

Japan really likes Star Wars (Lucas was heavily inspired by Kurosawa) so Im sure both audiences would love to see Star Wars in KH but the same would not be true for the muppets or planet of the apes. Nevermind potential problems in the future if Disney does realize its overbloated and decides to sell some IPs which could cause problems (we cant visit Tarzan anymore and games have been delisted over IP rights issues such as Activision Marvel and Transformer games).

I know its been a few days but hear me out: star wars exists ONLY in the gummi sections. The game is as good as a starfox sequel and plays similarly with boss fights and secret path conditions to unlock small secret worlds. The characters are your teammates, Luke and Han fly next to you like Falco and Slippy. The game is actually fun and challenging and doesnt stray from the starfox 64 gameplay at all
The death star is an arena planet unlocked through a secret path that organizes all the gummi sections into a playable marathon like an actual starfox game, fleshed out like olympus colliseum in the OG with secrets and rewards. Im salivating.
Maybe that could work. Can also replace Luke and Han with R2 and C3PO if getting Hamil and Ford would be too expensive for VAs.
I think something like this would work better with KH2 gummi ship combat over 3 but it could work without bringing Star Wars in too much.

They are bring back reaction commands though so im optimistic they learned from 3 and 4 will be better.
