This is actually just Snakebite Leather, the contrast paint (two coats due to the undercoat). There's a bit of Fyreslayer Flesh feathered on the top of the back and Ratling Grime on the tufts of the fur and the spots.
Because I'm lazy, I started my Kruleboyz with a 'slapchop' kind of method and I'm sticking to that theme.
How this was done was:
\- Zandri Dust undercoat (spray) + Dorn Yellow (actually Vallejo Ice Yellow, same tone) drybrush all over, lighter white drybrush on top. Layer Contrast on top, 1-2 layers depending on the Contrast paint in question.
\- In the case of fur texture, I did the highlights by painting individual strands of hair, keeping in mind the direction (down on the legs, towards the tail everywhere else). White was reserved for the highlight areas. The technique is really simple once you get the hang of it, a good brush (a fine point is more important than size) and some airbrush flow improver help a lot.
Thanks much! I'm doing mine up similar to Marco Frisoni's speedpainted ones, but I really like the idea of the Gnashtoof's being hyena's more than leathery swamp monsters and this look is absolutely perfect for it.
Really resembles a hyena with that fur
Which is what I was going for. Nice to hear that it reads as such.
I love the Hyena fur look!
I love this take on the Gnashtoof, the spots are awesome
This is a great look for the Gnashtoof! What colors did you use for the fur?
