nothing against the ep but i genuinely dont see the praise. ive listened to it fully about 8-9 times and ive just found it, ok? like its good, objectively, skilled instrumentals and good songwriting, but it just doesnt have that charm for me, just isnt there. one of my friends thinks its the best thing ever, and when i told him that i still like shadow of intent more, he went off on me about "dude its just on another level its so good its perfect" but i dont think so.
sorry for my rant but i genuinely dont get it. i genuinely dont know what im missing in this
I hear you. It’s not something I’d give multiple re-listens to, but the technical musicality of it is what impressed me the first time I heard it. The guitar and (what sounds like) violin shredding knocked me backwards when I first heard it. And I only found it because I was looking for an audiobook of The Poetic Edda of Norse mythology on Spotify and happened upon the song.
HereToStay - BRAINDEAD
The amount of stankface I got was unbelievable, and yet this band has so little followers/listeners on Spotify :(

We've got a Situation-The Damned Things. Nowhere near Strapping Young Lads, but def a fun song. Too bad they broke up. (Scott Ian from Anthrax, the drummer and guitarist for Fall Out Boy, Rob Caggiano, and Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die, btw).
Honestly it was “And Plague Flowers Kaleidoscope” by Ne Obliviscaris. So yea, it’s been a while since I was blown away [ne obliviscaris](https://youtu.be/v_6dHvNvdwY?si=1_KVxIAuncwSCgRT)
[Victoria - Brutus](https://youtu.be/hEdmzn41tTU?si=_mh0hb1IW_HAx8uI)
I was wasted when I first watched the music video and started crying. That song fucking hit me.
Et Smelter by Dodheimsgard. First track on the album and after it I knew I had to be paying attention. I have heard many great albums over the past few months on an absolute tear of discovering music but this one is a journey.
Many Doors to Hell - Bruce Dickinson
Specifically because he sounded very much like Bowie and that caught me off guard, es because of the doubly tale I had to do with the intro guitar
Sabaton Defense of Moscow. That chorus hits hard especially the words and subject matter of the song. I'd fight like a battle frenzied berserker for Moscow if that song was playing and I'm an American who's never left this continent.
EDIT: Also, Slaughter to Prevail Viking. Yes, daddy Alex Terrible give me more guttural growls over slow chugging riffs after wild, frenzied blasts of speed...
Bodom brother! The answer to this question is obviously the live version of Lake Bodom, that guitar fill leading into the outro of the song always gives me chills

Sadness - Lana
descend into depravity - dying fetus
not metal, but DeathbyRomy - I Kill Everything
We've got a Situation-The Damned Things. Nowhere near Strapping Young Lads, but def a fun song. Too bad they broke up. (Scott Ian from Anthrax, the drummer and guitarist for Fall Out Boy, Rob Caggiano, and Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die, btw).
The sick riff in five magics before the final solo
Skeletonwitch. Beyond the Permafrost
not metal at all but sleep by godspeed almost made me fall to my knees at work

Death Empress by Synestia and Disembodied Tyrant
Undergang - Evigt Lidende

Bound by Desire by Revocation The solos in that song are just immaculate. Revocation has written some of the best solos I've ever heard.
Nordlys - Mental Cruelty It's not especially unique but something about it just clicked for me
Et Smelter by Dodheimsgard. First track on the album and after it I knew I had to be paying attention. I have heard many great albums over the past few months on an absolute tear of discovering music but this one is a journey.
First time I listened to “anthem part 3 by blink-182”
Ghetto blasters by Ghoul
Hideous divinity - bent until fractured ![gif](giphy|KAFLXHu0XOt7X4s2LJ)
200 Stab Wounds - Ride the Flatline (holy shit!)
bog walker - The Acacia Strain That part after the spoken word with the suuuper slow chugs... life changing.

Death Empress by Disembodied Tryant and Synthesia EDIT: it's Synestia
Why would you insult a good band like that
Bodom brother! The answer to this question is obviously the live version of Lake Bodom, that guitar fill leading into the outro of the song always gives me chills
There is no business to be done on a dead planet - All shall Perish
Limousine - Bring Me The Horion. Their new album is insane. Also a life long fan since they first started out.
