It's so funny to because even if he was trying to hide it from the camera, he's very clearly being distracted by something down there and that's reason enough to be penalized in some businesses.

Saw a guy driving like this once in a metro medical transport van (pickup people for appts and such) where he had his phone hidden off to the side attempting to conceal it from the camera inside. Didn’t crash but weaving and running lights.

I know it's still dumb, but if there's times I have to look at something while driving, I raise it up to the windows line of sight and just try and view it in my peripheral while I have my eyes on the road. Sometimes it was necessary when delivering packages for FedEx or amazon. Being in an unfamiliar town with spotty GPS or something. I just don't understand why people look down. It seems like the worst possible choice.

One thing about me? If I’m in the car the phone will not be touched. Whether I’m driving or someone else is driving me. Also seatbelts. Even though they do more harm to women than help.

I have a friend who is like this when he drives. I tell him to put his phone away but he has to read the stupid text while driving. Nothing is that important that you have to read it right now.
