I seriously saw one possession in the 2nd half where Dame wasn’t double teamed and that was the possession where he caught TJ with the behind the back but missed the shot.
Despite not scoring, he opened up the entire offense in the 2nd half because the entire Pacers were focused on him.
Absolute masterclass by Lillard. Don’t get fooled by those 3 assists. He was the sole reason this offense had the nice looks they got because he had the entire Pacers shitting their pants
I like the grit they showed this game. Pacers went on some runs, but they responded. Beyond the x's and o's, if they can consistently play like that, could be an improvement. It's something they usually lacked with Bud.
Last year we lost Giannis than lost game 1 to the Heat which set the tone for that series.
This year we lose Giannis but win game 1 against Pacers in large part thanks to Dame Lillard. That’s why trading for Dame was so important.
There are people out there who think the Dame trade wasn’t worth it, but tonight’s game shows why it absolutely was. We needed another Super Star to step up if Giannis was out.
Now I really hope we get to see Giannis and Dame together in these playoffs. I'll be heartbroken if we don't see Giannis return.

The more he takes his midrange jumper, the less of a rhythm the others will get. Second half Pacers weren’t looking his way as much and got some more going. I expect a different approach from them game 2.

Idk if this is controversial but I feel like we lose this game with Bud. This isn’t a debate on who the better coach is but Doc’s strong suit is preparation when undermanned and Bud has had some tough game 1s. I’ve been very critical of Dame all year but he was exactly what he needed to be when it mattered. I love the bucks look if they play like this and just insert giannis for strong defense and maybe being a monster of offensive and defensive boards for put backs. Brook sets much tougher screens and I wanna see Giannis dedicate himself to roaming the paint and allow Lillard to find his shot throughout the game so he can close properly. Ima talk my shit, I called it. Pacers=Paper tigers. They look great in the regular season because they’re average age is 17. They have fresh knees every night, excited to play a meaningless game against Charlotte in December since half the team is playing for their next deal. In the playoffs when things slow down and you need half court stops and offense, it doesn’t work.

Idk if this is controversial but I feel like we lose this game with Bud. This isn’t a debate on who the better coach is but Doc’s strong suit is preparation when undermanned and Bud has had some tough game 1s. I’ve been very critical of Dame all year but he was exactly what he needed to be when it mattered. I love the bucks look if they play like this and just insert giannis for strong defense and maybe being a monster of offensive and defensive boards for put backs. Brook sets much tougher screens and I wanna see Giannis dedicate himself to roaming the paint and allow Lillard to find his shot throughout the game so he can close properly. I’m so much more optimistic seeing this bucks team play hard and with intensity
