I agree. I do hope that with Rainbow High's popularity some other brands will be making more dolls with textured hair, from what I've seen Rainbow High's dolls are quite good at textured hair, though I've heard they can have a lot of hair gel out of box.
I'm curious if the new doll will have the same style of hair as Catty, where she has microbraids (or microtwists for Venus?) on the front/back/side and straight in the middle. It does look cute on Catty but I do think I've accidently brushed a few of the braids which makes them a bit tangled, though its not really a big deal because its not noticeable from far away.

her new doll does have braids, just the green highlights on top of the pink hair are braided though. i do agree tho i would've loved for her new doll to have textured hair, but ig thats what rerooting is for lol

I'm mixed background (azn, white, hawaiian) and my hair is frizzy straight and thin but there's somehow lots of strands / density & I lose ton of hair just brushing it 😒 it's a mess and I always had trouble with styling it... Then when I was a kid it was mostly black students at my school and I swear I can still hear the sound of clicking of beads when they flicked their hair. They were sooo pretty to see the way the beads moved with their hair, I was jealous of how many different styles they had, the versatility and time spent on adorning their braids and twists and locs.
Like there's so many different fun beautiful hair styles black girls can wear, yet not seeing it reflected in fashion dolls??
Check out some of the LOL OMG or LOL tweens dolls. Off of the top of my head, I think LOL OMG Sunset and LOL Tween Hoops Cutie have beads in their hair. There are probably more I can’t think of. LOL is really good about having a wide variety of hair textures and styles.

You're right, they do have a large variety of textures and styles on their dolls!! I always forget to consider LOL because I personally did not care for collecting them; it's the faces that bother me, which is such a shame because the clothing quality and hair is always so fantastic! If their faces were slightly different I'd be all about it 🥲
I think these particular dolls are wearing more like a flat malleable metal adornment of hair jewelry for braids or locs instead of plastic ballies or beads you'd see placed at the bottom of braids or twists. I'd really love to see a doll with many colorful beads along the bottom of all their braids that make pretty sounds as they clink together. The movement and texture would be soooo satisfying and so beautiful 💖
I am not a huge fan of lolomgs specifically for their faces. I'm actually very jealous that they get more hair options. I buy the dolls, though, but then I replace their heads with bratz heads. I have a bunch of sashas, yasmins, jades, and a few cloes with lol omg bodies.

No intricate or interesting styles like we saw with g1; think Operetta's victory rolls, CA Cupid's heart twist and flipped out bob, Gigi's genie up-do, Lagoona's DOTD fin-faux hawk, etc etc...
I'd be ECSTATIC to see more alt black fashion and some variety of black hair styles, and also some inspiration from Asian street fashion-- I've actually seen a lot of people asking specifically for j-fashion subculture like Gyaru and Lolita/EGL, which I think would translate beautifully into the typical look of MH dolls.
Yeah the hair is pretty meh on MH G3 overall, I really like first wave Venus and my Creepover Drac with the little space buns up top, but otherwise my MH collection is pretty boring hair wise.
MGA dolls are always better in that department it seems but i’m surprised this idea never made it onto a Rainbow High or OMG doll or something unless I’ve missed someone lol
Completely agree that the hair are twists, but the full doll head contains both. The plastic moulded hair on the side of her hair is in a braid pattern, while the rooted hair has a twist pattern.

She has twists probably because of the material of her hair. My venus cosplay has braids because I already have neon green braids but I think that particular material doesn't braid well. I've yet to find any doll that does locs well and I've heard that's what she has in the show. Whatever, I love it. I just dislike all the whitewashed fanart I've seen that removes her black features. And yes, I know previous gens she was pretty white presenting but people are specifically making art of g3 venus and making her white passing (or as much as someone green can be)
