The term “juice collector” is slightly misleading to those unfamiliar with mafia lingo. He collected debts for the Chicago Mob…. I was thinking “this poor juice farmer” when I opened it lol
I thought he collected the juice bottles because, who the heck collects juice? I also thought, poor guy, thinking maybe he was slow because, who the heck collects juice bottles?
I read an article a few years ago about a guy that disposed of bodies for the Mexican cartels by placing the bodies in barrels full of acid. After the bodies had fully dissolved he would dump the barrels in the woods. He was called the soup chef.
My apologies. He was not a friendly juice collector LMAO. I use the term interchanably with loan-shark, but I should have clarified that in the post. I am obsessed with Mafia history, so sometimes I forget that their lingo isn't common jargon.
Selwyn Raab’s book *Five Families* is generally regarded as one of the best overviews of the Mafia in America. It’s an excellent read. Dude was an investigative reporter focusing on organized crime and really knows his stuff.
Oh my god thank you. I was sitting here trying to figure out what a juice collector was (collecting different kinds of juices like as hobby? collecting the juice *out* of things like a weird way to say juice maker?) and how the hell anyone best known for their relation to juice would end up on the wrong side of people that would do this.
From the Wikipedia article about him:
> When police found the almost naked body of Jackson, he was face forward with rope marks on his wrists and feet. He had many cuts and burns all over his body, his chest had been crushed and he had a hole in his right ear from some type of sharp object.
> Jackson was impaled through his rectum with a meat hook, hanging a foot in the air, while being questioned by mob enforcers. Jackson kept insisting he was not an informer but his torturers did not believe him. They stripped him naked, smashed his kneecaps with a bat, one of them shot him with a gun, broke his ribs, stuck him with sharp objects, used a cattle prod on his penis and anus making him evacuate his bowels, burned parts of his body with a blow torch, and told him how they were going to kill his wife and children if he did not confess. Then they left him for three days until he finally succumbed to his wounds.
> Jackson's body was found on August 12, 1961 in the trunk of his own car, which had been abandoned on Lower Wacker Drive in Chicago.[1]
Notorious for not hurting the people that Owed him money. But raping the wives and girlfriends of the people that owed him. It was said he raped a woman and bit her nipple off. So yeah. Not a great guy. Guess it’s your call if you wanna feel sympathy for him or not.

One of his murderers was insane. Mad Sam Destefano, the man murdered his own brother. The worse thing he did (in my opinion) was kidnap a random man off the street then forced him to rape his wife(sam's wife). Dude was a p.o.s. but the outfit(chicago mafia) put an end to him.
Another example, from South Africa:
> 3 January 2012 is a day the community of Modimolle in Limpopo, South Africa will never forget. On that day, Johan Kotze did the unthinkable. He not only orchestrated the gang rape of his wife, before torturing her, but also murdered her nineteen-year-old son, Conrad.

https://www.sowetanlive.co.za/news/2012-11-20-ex-wife-of-modimolle-monster-tells-of-torture
Yes, it can be virtually guaranteed he did worse things than that. He was an extremely sadistic man working as a loan shark. It can be safely assumed that his worst deeds are not and will never be public knowledge.
I really wonder if people who get tortured to this extend go into shock quick enough that the pain is dulled a little bit. It’s hard to comprehend that level of pain.
I wish I could say that they do. But as someone who's been lurking around some of the more gorey parts of the internet; the body doesn't handle shock the same way when tortured compared to other situations that causes the body to go into shock. Mainly it probably has to do with how our brain registers memories- looking back we can't clearly recall any of the trauma, but at the moment that it occurs it is very vivid. Our body also tends to produce adrenaline when put in fight or flight, which isn't something you want when what is going to happen is inevitable since adrenaline affects our counciousness and awareness.
A good example to how far torture can go while our body still registers pain is a torture video that has been titled "funky town" and is considered by many in the 'community' to be the most infamous gore video out there.
That video will forever be seared into my mind, I have legit PTSD from it and I, too, used to frequent the gore sites a few years ago. The Funkytown vid and the one where a man eats another man’s live beating heart from his chest made me stop
I wouldn’t recommend watching it, the video starts off with a man who’s already had the skin of his face flayed off and it’s only just eyeballs looking into the camera. He is then stabbed in the mouth by the filmers and tries to grab the knife, but he has also had his hands chopped off so he is trying to grab the knife with non existent hands.
Many people believe the man was supplied with stimulants by the cartel so he could experience the torture all the way up to his death
I heard that he often raped the wives of the guys he collected from and that was unacceptable, even for mobsters. Given that info, I’d say this was a good snuff.
He was an utterly evil man, but this grotesque torture is just unimaginable to me. I've heard the same, though, he was charged with rape multiple times but was never convicted to my knowledge.
not from chicago? wacker and lower wacker is a double decker road through downtown and lower wacker is underground, pretty dirty and full of homeless people. done out of convenience
Yeah... I did a reverse image search One Day on what apparently is a famous photograph of people at the bottom of an elevator shaft. They are very obviously dead. One of the results was buying the poster from W'mart. I never thought about the fact there would be a market for such things until that moment.
Thanking the comments that explained Juice Collector was a mafia term for debt collector. I was sitting here wondering if new Batman villains were being brutally tortured.
No, he was not. He was approached by law enforcement to become an informer, but he turned them down. It's likely that the mere rumor of him being a rat sealed his fate. It's also speculated that he raped the wife of an Outfit-connected burglar, or that he stole money from Mad Sam himself.
As I recall, he had a thing for mistreating women. More specifically, he'd rape the wives of the debtees he was supposed to collect from.
The mob has a code, and they are huge on family. They might be criminals and murderers, but he went too far for them.
Never go to a secondary location bro. He should have just made them shoot him in the street. Dude wasn't even a snitch. I wonder if he went the 3 days without succumbing to the coercion and saying he was.
Why did they do homie so bad? Certainly not the first Mafioso to be accused of snitching. Yeeesh.
I saw him in September!!! I also got the shirt where it is his childhood photo and whenever I wear it people ask if it’s a picture of my husband as a child cause they look alike. Everytime without fail I get asked why I’m wearing a random child’s face on my shirt
I know this guy probably wasn't the best person, but very few people in this world deserve that level of inhumane torture. Just reading what they did to him makes me cringe in my skin.
How does someone get hung up on a meat hook by their rectum without falling out, is it just ripped into the body and through the pelvis? It just doesn't add up in my head, please explain, thanks
"He earned his nickname of "Action" because it was slang for "Juice Man", which meant debt-collector."
----William "Action" Jackson hmmmmm nope,
----William "juice collector" Jackson hmmmmm maybe....
Either way they have a ring to them. But how the heck is action slang for juice man????
More info on this case: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Jackson_(gangster)
The term “juice collector” is slightly misleading to those unfamiliar with mafia lingo. He collected debts for the Chicago Mob…. I was thinking “this poor juice farmer” when I opened it lol
Thanks. I was thinking about the dangerous world of underground juice collecting.
Those Odwalla gangs man...notorious
First thing that popped in my mind was “hmm, what a strange hobby.”
Right? And he collected so many exotic juices that he was "notorious." I was like dang, never heard of that.
We take our OJ seriously in these parts.
[удалено]
My first concern was how does he keep the juices from going bad if hes the most "notorious" collector in this ever booming field I've never heard of?
Well he would be notorious because he was letting all that collected juice go bad.
Better than potentially illegal Iranian yogurts
I thought he collected the juice bottles because, who the heck collects juice? I also thought, poor guy, thinking maybe he was slow because, who the heck collects juice bottles?
"This could have been me..."
While this is still disturbing, that makes *much* more sense
Right? For a moment I was thoroughly confused
Thank you. I was about to ask what a juice collector was, because I don't think I want to look it up.
I didn't know if that was a slang for gay prostitute or something of the like...
You started it now, thank you.
Specifically, squeezed someone that was delinquent in the debts. They called him when people were behind.
I read an article a few years ago about a guy that disposed of bodies for the Mexican cartels by placing the bodies in barrels full of acid. After the bodies had fully dissolved he would dump the barrels in the woods. He was called the soup chef.
He was called the stew maker, not the soup chef.
El pozolero
In Blacklist there was an ominously named killer called The Soup Maker.... Same thing.
> he is a debt collector! > Wait no, we can't just call him a debt collector, that's too obvious > What about juice? Juice collector. > Perfect.
A debt collected has laws and rules he must follow. A man who juices has no codes he follows, except don’t dip into the till and don’t be a rat.
My apologies. He was not a friendly juice collector LMAO. I use the term interchanably with loan-shark, but I should have clarified that in the post. I am obsessed with Mafia history, so sometimes I forget that their lingo isn't common jargon.
Where can I learn more about mafia history? Any books or podcasts you can recommend?
Selwyn Raab’s book *Five Families* is generally regarded as one of the best overviews of the Mafia in America. It’s an excellent read. Dude was an investigative reporter focusing on organized crime and really knows his stuff.
Is this the meaning of the line "spilling juice over me" in the Bob Dylan song?
[удалено]
Well that's something I never considered. I figured it was some dead slang.
It's Dylan; it's gibberish.
The most plausible explanation.
I'm glad that he wasn't some random innocent juice lover and that I learned a new term today.
I was thinking what in the world could a juice farmer do to ever deserve this!
moisture farmer
Liquid fruit nectar hobbyist
Oh my god thank you. I was sitting here trying to figure out what a juice collector was (collecting different kinds of juices like as hobby? collecting the juice *out* of things like a weird way to say juice maker?) and how the hell anyone best known for their relation to juice would end up on the wrong side of people that would do this.
Here i was thinking it was some weird rap name
I thought he was really fat because he drank a lot of juice
After looking at the photo I thought it was the kool aid mascot.
Oh yeah!!!!
Great, that makes me wonder about Juice Newton, and rethink all of the lyrics to her songs.
Pretty much everybody is unfamiliar with mafia lingo (I'd hope so). Op trying to be cool leaves most people clueless so thank you for explaining.
Chicago
Juice farmer? What
From the Wikipedia article about him: > When police found the almost naked body of Jackson, he was face forward with rope marks on his wrists and feet. Not to disregard what happened to him, although I hear he wasn’t the nicest chap, were his wife and children ok?
And also - WAS he an informant??
No but he was asked to be one and declined
Makes me wonder if it was a "Rat on your friends or we tell your friends you're a rat." Type of situations.
That way they can protect the real rat
Notorious for not hurting the people that Owed him money. But raping the wives and girlfriends of the people that owed him. It was said he raped a woman and bit her nipple off. So yeah. Not a great guy. Guess it’s your call if you wanna feel sympathy for him or not.
Good riddance
Exactly what I was gonna say
What happened to his family?
No mention of his secondary decapitation?
Secondary decapitation?? Would you mind elaborating?

Wacker? No, leave the family alone.
I still can’t process this, the guy had his own wife raped? And he orchestrated it?
He also forced her to put a gun in her mouth and pull the trigger. It was unloaded. She didn't know that
Jesus . That’s horrifying. His own twisted brand of mock executions … wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy
Another example, from South Africa: > 3 January 2012 is a day the community of Modimolle in Limpopo, South Africa will never forget. On that day, Johan Kotze did the unthinkable. Sam's

I heard he was mad.
Yeah, he murdered his own brother
Rats make me crazy
He did that because he had disagreement with her. As per Wikipedia.
I just watched [this](https://youtu.be/KkgVSRk65ws) documentary on him. Crazy af! Killed his brother then killed by his brother
Wait. Killed his own brother and...then killed by **another** one of his brothers??
I think you mean 'worst' thing. Unless there was something even worse he did?
Yes, it can be virtually guaranteed he did worse things than that. He was an extremely sadistic man working as a loan shark. It can be safely assumed that his worst deeds are not and will never be public knowledge.
No argument from me on that. Still, I'm fairly sure from context that the previous commenter meant 'worst' rather than 'worse'
Live by the sword....
Die by the meat hook wedgie
Meat hook wedgie is a good band name.
Yes, he was a very evil man...he definitely wasn't going to go out peacefully
Live by impaling people through there rectums with a meat hook…
It's especially disgusting since when he was hung up on the meat hook, he defecated all over the monster who was putting him up there's hand. Yikes..
When it gets to that level of violence, what’s a little poop?
At that level of violence there better be a little poop or as torturer I'd be greatly offended
I mean, you may as well.
Damn that must be painfull AF.
There are worse things than death. That's for certain

Geez I felt like I got PTSD just from that description.
How do they not tear off😳

I think he said that the rape was unacceptable
Sam’s?
No, his brothers
[удалено]
Well, it was a Tuesday - Thursday.
He was tortured to death because they suspected he became an FBI informant.
The rapes didn’t help his standing.
This shouldn't be downvoted. Rapists are not popular in prison, or among the mob.
Feels like a sick joke that he was found on “Wacker Drive”!
I feel like that had to be intentional by the guys who put him there.
For me, that’s what throws out the ‘informant’ theory. That was them making a statement.
not from chicago? wacker and lower wacker is a double decker road through downtown and lower wacker is underground, pretty dirty and full of homeless people. done out of convenience
so they dumped him on the dirty wacker?

I'm not sure how I feel about the "buy this print" button. But I do know why it's there.

From WMart?! Damn, they branching out into the morbid market.
Thanking the comments that explained Juice Collector was a mafia term for debt collector. I was sitting here wondering if new Batman villains were being brutally tortured.
Here I am picturing a fat guy with a decorative display of first edition Tang bottles. Unopened of course
Same. And the cute little apple juice bottles shaped like apples!
He should have just became an informant if being loyal still made his gang think he was an informant and do this to him anyways.
This was an utterly vicious and ruthless gang. Getting involved is just asking for serious consequences
How do you hang by your rectum
Yeah, I was wondering how that's possible. I though for sure that it would tear because it can't hold the weight...
The hook would be held up by the pelvic bones. I've seen people do suspension with anal hooks before. Different context, but same biomechanics.
Thank you for the explanation, that actually makes sense (in a physical way)
You'd be surprised how strong your connective tissue is.
Especially given how fat he was
Yikes.
Yeah, this picture is grotesque...
There was so much to unpack in that title, thanks for at least explaining what a juice collector was.
So was he a rat?
No, he was not. He was approached by law enforcement to become an informer, but he turned them down. It's likely that the mere rumor of him being a rat sealed his fate. It's also speculated that he raped the wife of an Outfit-connected burglar, or that he stole money from Mad Sam himself.
I would believe the latter speculation. It would be a waste of a worker to torture and kill him if you already knew, he was loyal.
I imagine not running from the warehouse bust, even if it was just because of his weight, probably did not look very good
As I recall, he had a thing for mistreating women. More specifically, he'd rape the wives of the debtees he was supposed to collect from. The mob has a code, and they are huge on family. They might be criminals and murderers, but he went too far for them.
We'll likely never be certain of the exact reason they did this to him.
I've been on Reddit too long. 'Juice' collector hung up by hook in 'rectum' conjured completely different ideas for me.
Yeeesh.
You want my money clip? Here, FETCH! Ain’t nobody getting me to a secondary location!
STREET SMARTS! I saw Mulaney in March at Foxwoods
I saw him in September!!! I also got the shirt where it is his childhood photo and whenever I wear it people ask if it’s a picture of my husband as a child cause they look alike. Everytime without fail I get asked why I’m wearing a random child’s face on my shirt
Also saw him in March at Foxwoods!
Apparently he was particularly brutal to his targets, including raping their wives which seems to be a line not to be crossed among mafiosos.
I know this guy probably wasn't the best person, but very few people in this world deserve that level of inhumane torture. Just reading what they did to him makes me cringe in my skin.
Now that is some r/titlegore right there
Oof
Hung by his WHAT
He wasn’t even an informant?!? Brutal
Live by the mob, die by the mob.
How does someone get hung up on a meat hook by their rectum without falling out, is it just ripped into the body and through the pelvis? It just doesn't add up in my head, please explain, thanks
When they hooked through it probably went all the way through and was supported by his pelvic bones, not just flesh.
Yeah the pelvic bone would the thing holding the body weight.
“I got apple, cranberry, orange and prune. Why are you looking at me like that?”
Juice Man. And Loan Collector
Would he have survived these wounds even if he had been found sooner? What a horrific ordeal. I'm sure it was especially for the people who found him.
In an odd moment of synchronicity, this exact case was mentioned in James Lee Burke's Dave Robichaux novel *Pegasus Rising* which I am reading.
