Wow. Hocevar was the lowest finishing Spire car. That hasn't happened often.

The only other time it happened was the Daytona 500, where Hocevar got junked on lap 5.

Last race of fox? How was the coverage this year? Couldn't watch much. 

It was normal coverage. People seem to complain but don’t remember how things used to be. Exactly the same as it’s always been. 50% commercials. At least they don’t do full screen cutaways like they used to when there were battles for the lead

That final commercial break with 7 to go was long, then they go from side by side coverage to a full screen 30 sec add for Harvick's podcast... shoot me now 🤪

People who watched every race didn't get to see much either, with the way FOX covered things.

Think about the worst coverage you could imagine It was 10x worse

If Busch would of got dumped a lap before NASCAR definitely throws the caution lol

Even as a Larson fan he won’t have much for SVG it comes down to those two. He might be able to match him at a regular road course, but Larson just can’t match his experience on a street course

Overall a fun race. Might be the best road course race with the Next Gen car.

I Canada tsn had 5 minutes of commercials (as if we dont see enough) then they cut back to shannon Jamie and larry. Larry is in mid conversation talking about the race. They interviewed 17 and then when back to the 3 in the studio. They put it to the booth for 30 secs and tsn shuts it down at 8pm local time starts with another broadcast. Actually is more than what we usually get. If the race is passed its allotted time. Winner is interviewed and then whatever is next is automatically on.

Sucks for us this side of the pond. But at least we don’t have all the commercial breaks 😅

Yeah, it does suck, but you havent missed much, FOX doesnt do post race unless there is time in the TV window, but like you said, no commercials so you got that.

Kyle Larson is a great race car driver, one of the best right now. I also hate that he won. Two things can be true.

He’s just on another level. He’s a pure racer just doesn’t matter what you put him in.

NASCAR newbie here, can someone please explain to me how a dude runs out of gas right before the finish line ? Isn't there someone on the team who's job is to keep track of that?

Also if the driver pushes the car for example trying to take a position more gas will be used 

Usage is all about how the driver drives it. Truex pushed his car too hard there trying to get by Buescher and keep up with Larson

It's not an exact science and races are designed to put stress on the crew chief to plan out fuel and it *very* often comes down to only having enough fuel for an extra lap or two. A caution, getting spun out, having to race harder to defend your position.. it can all make the difference of having enough gas or not. Also, time in pits is so fast that often times fuel is the last thing being done and not quite having the time to fully top off can also leave you short. You see cars out of gas more than other Motorsports because the decision is often made to roll the dice and take the risk. NASCAR officials see it as extra excitement and unknown in each race.

Yes. Like Blaney last week, it probably boils down to a miscalculation of how full the car was before the last stop. If it has less than they expected it could run out early.

Miscalculations, maybe driver pushing too hard not saving enough lots of ways for it to go bad

2nd week in a row Blaney ran out on the last lap last week in his case they didn't get enough fuel in on the last pit stop 

They try to fuel the car for as short a time as possible to gain position from pitting. 

Typically, there is. But that person fucked up.

There is a science to it but ultimately teams run it so close to the edge now it happens more frequently.

Yes they did. I don’t see either of them catching Jeff or Jimmie (Larson would need 63 more lol). But once they retire, this current lineup will more than likely finish 3-6th. Bowman needs 5 wins to be 6th.

I was watching the #1 Cameras, but they froze up right when he caught Kyle unfortunately.

No one knows, and there's definitely no cameras anywhere at the track that could have possibly caught it, so don't ask.

Most put together race for the 19 all season (outside of getting punted by the 33 early on) and James runs the fucker out of fuel. Never told Martin to save any fuel whatsoever. Unfuckingreal. Finished fucking 27th.

I’m not surprised Truex ran out of gas. No team consistently makes strategy snafus like the 19 team. (Before anyone mentions another team like 23XI — their issues are often execution)
