For people who weren’t on the sub that time, it was INSANE how much we had to argue about him. He was clearly ass and a bust, but even up until year 4 you’d get 10 people spamming you “Kyle Lowry started slow!!!!1!1!” if you dared criticize him. The Frank cult was genuinely insane
people were so delusional on his upside. In reality Frank legit didn't improve on any part of his game after year 1 and then he started to get plagued with injuries.
I was a Frank defender. A major part of the defense of him was his potential.
He had a nice outside shot. His handles were good. He was an elite man defender. He had all of the physical tools to be a very good to great point guard.
He never managed to put it together, sadly. He showed his potential in FIBA, but it didn’t translate to the NBA.
Physical tools? He couldn’t shoot, couldn’t dribble, wasn’t athletic, and had no bag. No one cares about FIBA. It’s crazy you still tell yourself these lies. He was ass through and through.
I was one of those people on this sub screaming about how Paul George started slow and how he could become a paul gergoe or kawhii like player lmaoooo. The delusions were real bro
I can't speak for everyone but drafting Frank really felt like the start of the knicks "doing it the right way", drafting and developing young talent instead of overpaying aging superstars and selling off draft picks. I know it never worked out but it felt like something real for the first time in a long time.
You guys seem to have an incredible fanbase, based off the little amount of highlights I've seen.
I hope frank finds his footing and can feel some love again.
Best in Europe for sure.
I honestly think he will do pretty well here, I wanted him at Partizan for the last 2 years and now I finally got my wish, one thing we needed last season was a PG and a defender and that is what he is, I think he has potential to be a top 5 defender in Europe honestly.
We'll have to wait and see, but even if he fails, he's still a former Knicks playing for my hometown team and that's more than enough for me.
The only thing I remember about Linkinikina was some guy on YouTube making a highlight clip of him grabbing a single rebound and he titled the video "FRANK LINKINIKINA HIGHLIGHTS! INSANE REBOUND!". Never fails to make me cackle when I think about it.
In consecutive years they draft Ntilikina instead of Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Knox instead of Mikal Bridges or SGA.
The dark days are over thankfully.
and at least eh haliburton draft, we desperately needed a PG and haliburton had gotten good (not amazing) grades coming into the draft. instead, we take someone we didn't need in a position we didn't need because we *MIGHT* trade the player at that position at mid-season (which we didnt')
Bring out the time capsule of Ntilikina takes...I remember someone said his floor was Allan Houston. This place was terrible during his tenure. Not his fault, but damn
It was more delusion than trolls, the ironic takes/jokes happened like after year 4. For the first 4 years of his bums career the majority of this sub were convinced he’d be a star, and you’d get a barrage of idiots spamming you if you thought a dude shooting 30 something % wasn’t gonna be one. So insufferable I wonder where those people are now
Hopefully this is the last Frank post on Reddit. It’s been a hell of a ride. Not really lol. I never seen someone that was a borderline nba player get so much love.
The closest thing sports related I can think of on Reddit was the fucking devotion people had for Zach Wilson on the Jets sub. As a Jets fan, that shit was mind boggling.
i think it was just such a consistent lack of talent in combination with wanting our young guys to be put in the fire since we werent winning anyway that made so many people want to drink the kool aid on him (and other youngins). i still think we did a disservice to many of our draft picks over the years by dedicating the worst development staffs around to them — i fear mitch would be out the league if we gave him 4 years of fiz lol
The lengths ya went to defend this bum. The Christmas post was the lowest point in this sub’s history. Never seen such an awful cowardly player get so much love
Fuck Frank.
Yall need to realize.....he was a wasted pick. He was a perfect example of the debacle that was the Phil Jackson era.
We picked this bum with the 8th pick.
Donovan Mitchell went with the 13th pick. Bam Adebayo went 14th. Imagine getting OG at the beginning of his career.....we could of had him too. Or Kyle Kuzma.....you get the idea.
Frank sucks, will always suck and the biggest proof of how bad this sub is when it comes to basketball.......this place swore up and down he was great. Do a search of his name in here and see how many in here were willing to take facials from Frank.
Yall disgust me.
He had a cool nickname. The French Prince is dope...but he was meh.
Even in an alternate timeline where he turns the corner he doesn't get us anywhere.
Maybe in that timeline we don't get Brunson 🙃
I like how things turned out.
The new shiny thing that just never seemed to go away for some people. Until he finally did.
Phil Jackson's only lasting legacy to the franchise. Except for the unicorn that wasn't. And the 13 game losing streak. And Cleanathony Early. And the Greek Freak's little bro that never played. And 17 wins.
And all that for just a million dollars a month!
The energy people keep for Frank is so weird. We drafted a lot of busts in the 2010s, it's one reason why we sucked so much for so long. Jerian Grant, Allonzo Trier, Kevin Knox, etc. For some reason none of those guys get people riled up like Frank.
I remember wanting to draft either Bridges that year, and Knox was my distant third choice. Knox seemed like the guy who had the lowest floor and the highest ceiling, but the Knicks front office had shown no ability to develop a project like that.
Well French prince, it’s time we say goodbye. I know the frank hive got too serious but I just wanted our young players to flourish and inject any type of positivity and direction for the franchise. We aren’t there anymore to depend on young players. Now to watch my Frank reaction video for the first time since that draft 😂😂
Frankie can still make a come back if Dante Exum could. Frank just gotta focus on improving his shot and learn to pass more. Whoever taught McBride how to shoot could teach Frank how to shoot as well.
Ntilikina and Fournier are both on the roster for Team France
[https://olympics.com/en/news/france-basketball-announce-preliminary-national-team-rosters-for-paris-2024](https://olympics.com/en/news/france-basketball-announce-preliminary-national-team-rosters-for-paris-2024)
Starting frontcourt of Gobert and Wembanyama, it's going to be impossible to score inside on this team
He is going to play for Partizan and Obradovic. Can't get better than that in Euroleague...
This year Partizan is buidling a interesting team and Frank is gonna be important part of it. Hope to see him shine there.
Glad we ain't in the Frank years anymore.
But this year is totallyyy his breakout year
For people who weren’t on the sub that time, it was INSANE how much we had to argue about him. He was clearly ass and a bust, but even up until year 4 you’d get 10 people spamming you “Kyle Lowry started slow!!!!1!1!” if you dared criticize him. The Frank cult was genuinely insane
They're still here, they just want to trade randle now lol
I was in the Frank Cult and do NOT think we should trade Randle
Slowest fucking guard I’ve ever seen in the 30+ years of watching NBA hoops
His shooting motion was slow as hell. I knew he wasgoing to bust the first time I watched him play.
Bro had zero moves… probably couldn’t even cross the street
Nah that would be RJ. Dude had the slowest fucking moves I've ever seen.
They worktho and he’s still in the league lol
RJ played basketball like he was moving in 3 feet of water.
people were so delusional on his upside.
He showed his potential in FIBA, but it didn’t translate to the NBA.
this isn't true though, he didn't really start improving at the 3 until year 3-4 and his defense got worse when the injuries started to pile up.
Physical tools? He couldn’t shoot, couldn’t dribble, wasn’t athletic, and had no bag. No one cares about FIBA. It’s crazy you still tell yourself these lies. He was ass through and through.
Ntilikina is a career 32% 3pt shooter. Nice outside shot?
I was one of those people on this sub screaming about how Paul George started slow and how he could become a paul gergoe or kawhii like player lmaoooo. The delusions were real bro
Frank hasn't even started yet. Just wait, euro mvp season coming
I'm still here baby. How do you trade with European teams?
I can't speak for everyone but drafting Frank really felt like the start of the knicks "doing it the right way", drafting and developing young talent instead of overpaying aging superstars and selling off draft picks. I know it never worked out but it felt like something real for the first time in a long time.
For every Kyle Lowry there's 100 Frankey Smokes.
He’s still ~2 years away (from being 2 years away).
im sure theres still people here thinking he can contribute lol
👈👈this guy. How do you call yourself a believer if u stop believing.
lol I remember those times, We shilled for that man for average/slightly above average perimeter defense.
As a Partizan and a Knicks fan I am beyond happy and hyped about this
You guys seem to have an incredible fanbase, based off the little amount of highlights I've seen.
40% of Serbians smoke, so this is a great fit.
Yall got baguettes out there?
nah, but we have smokes
The only thing I remember about Linkinikina was some guy on YouTube making a highlight clip of him grabbing a single rebound and he titled the video "FRANK LINKINIKINA HIGHLIGHTS! INSANE REBOUND!". Never fails to make me cackle when I think about it.
I thought hed be, what OG is now. Elite level defender that can shoot the 3. Shame he didnt work out. Good luck Frankie
Imagine Deuce had his height.. would be great.
Woulda gone in the first round and never been on the roster
Do they run the triangle offense? He’s perfect for that system.
fuckin lol bro
Just came here to post this lol. That’s it. He’s out of the NBA. Made it way longer than Hokage thought he would!
What does this mean in terms of his Thibs minutes next season?
35 min a night
Pour one out for my guy
In consecutive years they draft Ntilikina instead of Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Knox instead of Mikal Bridges or SGA. The dark days are over thankfully.
They Passed on Mitchell, SGA, and Haliburton in 3 out 4 drafts while having no lead guard on the roster.
and at least eh haliburton draft, we desperately needed a PG and haliburton had gotten good (not amazing) grades coming into the draft. instead, we take someone we didn't need in a position we didn't need because we *MIGHT* trade the player at that position at mid-season (which we didnt')
I thought he was gonna be a great defensive guard for teams but his offense isn't good enough. Good luck to him!
HOF eligible in 2029.. will keep an eye out
Bring out the time capsule of Ntilikina takes...I remember someone said his floor was Allan Houston. This place was terrible during his tenure. Not his fault, but damn
People kept telling me he was Kawhi Leonard
A lot of those takes were trolls back then, but there was a lot of delusion.
No they weren't. Back when he was drafted, people were legitimately talking about him as our kawhi/giannis because of his measurables.
So insufferable I wonder where those people are now
Shoutout to Niggakina
Yeah he’s just not NBA quality.
I remember when this stupid sub thought he was the second coming of Christ.
Remember when people here always reminded others how young Frank and Knox were.
They are still only 24 and 25. Those are gonna be some early retirements.
This dude was ass but the fans who thought he was good were even ass-ier
Hopefully this is the last Frank post on Reddit. It’s been a hell of a ride. Not really lol. I never seen someone that was a borderline nba player get so much love.
The closest thing sports related I can think of on Reddit was the fucking devotion people had for Zach Wilson on the Jets sub. As a Jets fan, that shit was mind boggling.
We just were looking for something to latch onto. I don’t wish 2012-2020 on anyone
i think it was just such a consistent lack of talent in combination with wanting our young guys to be put in the fire since we werent winning anyway that made so many people want to drink the kool aid on him (and other youngins). i still think we did a disservice to many of our draft picks over the years by dedicating the worst development staffs around to them — i fear mitch would be out the league if we gave him 4 years of fiz lol
When the inevitable Frank slam dunk video starts making the rounds then that's when we'll see him again.
A reminder of how far we’ve come. Best wishes to him but kick rocks with that Phil Jackson / Knicks era of basketball.
One of the worst players in franchise history. I really despise Phil Jackson
Not to worry Frank, that NBA out will never be used. Better pick up some elementary Chinese while you're at it.
Just here to comment how many stupid ppl on this sub said he was anywhere close to decent Dude was ass day 1
Hell yeah! All these stupid people.... rooting for their team.
I’m rooting for my team to not put trust in a dude that’s utter ass - believe in cautious optimism
Oh ok some of us watch games and not be miserable fucks all the time.
Lmao okay Mr sensitive
Frank who?
For those that want Ryan Dunn. Learn the lesson. This player archetype rarely works in the modern NBA.
The lengths ya went to defend this bum. The Christmas post was the lowest point in this sub’s history. Never seen such an awful cowardly player get so much love
Prob the most scared nba player I’ve ever seen
if bitch nigga had a spokesperson and brand ambassador, my man has that job locked down
What was the post?
The man who tore the sub apart
End of an era
He's only 25.
The Frank Hive was weird and delusional
Lasted a lot longer in the league in retrospect
Never seen an NBA player do less on offense. Truly the invisible man.
All love to Frank. All hate to the former FO
I still haven't given up!!! This kids gonna be the next big thing!!!
Fuck Frank. Yall need to realize.....he was a wasted pick. He was a perfect example of the debacle that was the Phil Jackson era. We picked this bum with the 8th pick. Frank was supposed to be OG
😂😂😂 where all the idiot Frank fans. I’m in tears. This use to be a toxic place when he was on the team. Where are they now 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
![gif](giphy|dMsh6gRYJDymXSIatd|downsized) He's finally gone. The cause of French racism
Rudy gobert still in the league
So long kid
Only one year until an NBA out…
Who the fuck cares?
Combine Jeremy Lin’s offense and Frank’s wingspan and defence and you’ve got a decent NBA player
Its like seeing your ex struggle in life
Awesome pick
Farewell to the French Prince
The OG put ‘em in the trunk
He had a cool nickname. The French Prince is dope...but he was meh. Even in an alternate timeline where he turns the corner he doesn't get us anywhere. Maybe in that timeline we don't get Brunson 🙃 I like how things turned out.
Breakout season imminent!
Meh.
Finally. Knox still gotta job though?
His jersey still hangs in my wardrobe as a dark reminder of the bad times.
He never had confidence. The only time he showed some life was when he got into that tussle with Lebron.
Why are people so upset Knicks fans looked at a player through rose coloured glasses? Who cares?
The energy people keep for Frank is so weird. We drafted a lot of busts in the 2010s, it's one reason why we sucked so much for so long. Jerian Grant, Allonzo Trier, Kevin Knox, etc. For some reason none of those guys get people riled up like Frank.
Allonzo Trier wasn't drafted
Knox pissed me off too because it was damn obvious Mikal Bridges was better.
I remember wanting to draft either Bridges that year, and Knox was my distant third choice. Knox seemed like the guy who had the lowest floor and the highest ceiling, but the Knicks front office had shown no ability to develop a project like that.
Gone but not forgotten

Scrub then scrub now
Frank hive!! I still own a few of his rookie cards. Good to see Frank is signed somewhere.
Frankie can still make a come back if Dante Exum could. Frank just gotta focus on improving his shot and learn to pass more. Whoever taught McBride how to shoot could teach Frank how to shoot as well.
Frank Hive Forever
Why would anyone care. His name should make every fan sick
Serious question: will he be in the Olympics, or he's not in the top 12 French hoopers? Is Evan?
Ntilikina and Fournier are both on the roster for Team France [https://olympics.com/en/news/france-basketball-announce-preliminary-national-team-rosters-for-paris-2024](https://olympics.com/en/news/france-basketball-announce-preliminary-national-team-rosters-for-paris-2024) Starting frontcourt of Gobert and Wembanyama, it's going to be impossible to score inside on this team
