Easy sprue glue recipe..
Sprues
Nail polish remover (boots chemist £1)
Glass jar with screwable lid.
Fill jar about a third full of Np remover.
Add cut up sprues until liquid gets to about 3/4 up the jar.
Leave overnight..
Ta-da! Sprue glue.
Stir it with a metal spoon, and apply as needed. Gloves are sensible, and don't let any spill on your vinyl tablecloth...
😁👍🐺
And for nail polish remover, you actually just need acetone. I say this because there is a lot of nail polish remover now that’s acetone free, and wouldn’t work the same.
Yup, which is why i noted specifically Boot's own, which is 100% acetone. 😁👍
Edit. Grammar.
Edit 2.
UK only, for non UK, as u/Brilliantminion notes, make sure it's 100% acetone.
Ages. It starts to solidify as soon as it's out of submersion. But all the time it's under, it's fine. I have a jar that's over 6 months old, no change whatsoever.
Google search i imagine?
Edit. It does not dissolve it, but prolonged exposure will cause it to degrade.
So yes, but you'd need to replace the seal eventually. Or just get a jam jar with a screwable lid (IKEA do those, too. 😁)
\- milliput
\- greenstuff
\- superglue
\- sprue goo
personally i use milliput, as you can see here i dont have that lines

I’m literally building these as I type this. I turned mine into Deathmarks though. I made sprue goo and spackled them and then gently sanded them before priming
There is liquid plastic, similar to liquid green stuff but doesn’t shrink.
Full with liquid plastic and scrape it flat with the back of a blade once dried.
Tamiya Extra thin or Deluxe Materials Plastic Magic.
Best glue for styrene, and can be used to fill and smooth small seams like this. Learn it, love it, live it
Have you ever tried sprue guess? Its Tamiya quick dry glue get your grey sprues and cut them small enough to fit into the Tamiya bottle. Let them sit for 6hrs and wallah sprue gue. Use putty tools to form it. Have fun.
I took the cheap route and put a small spot of gorilla glue on there and spread it flat. When it hardens and dry you can prime and paint over it, might look a little dipped in but it’s not a gap
For seems that small you can use Tamiya Plastic Cement, Brush on varnish, Vallejo Plastic Putty or Mr Disolved Putty.
I once was able to use a file which created plastic shavings and then I used Tamiya Plastic Cement
I use superglue and then scrape with the sharp end of your scalpel once dried. I find I get more control with feathering the downward force on the blade than with a file.
If needed then a super light touch rolling a file in the direction front to back. Got to be careful you only use the weight of the file as the only downforce.
I put sprue in tamiya plastic glue and make a gap filler like that. Should be tutorials online for it
This is the way. Liquid green stuff is garbage in comparison to sprue goo.
Oh okay, thanks! I’ll have a look!

Are you speaking from experience with that table cloth bit 😉
I can neither confirm or deny that scurrilous, outrageous ~~truth~~ LIE! 🤣😉🐺

How long does this last for? I'm assuming it's a case of drying on air contact, hence the screwable lid.
Ages. It starts to solidify as soon as it's out of submersion. But all the time it's under, it's fine. I have a jar that's over 6 months old, no change whatsoever.
Would it work with one of those jars with rubber that is sealed with a clamp thing?
Possibly? Check if rubber is impervious to acetone, if so i can't see why not? 😁👍
How would I check that. From what I know it's just an IKEA jar.
Google search i imagine? Edit. It does not dissolve it, but prolonged exposure will cause it to degrade. So yes, but you'd need to replace the seal eventually. Or just get a jam jar with a screwable lid (IKEA do those, too. 😁)
I could just pour a bit of acetone on the rubber I think.
Just search for sprue goo
I put plastic glue along the cracks, let it dry and then sand it flat. Sprue goo works the same!
This is a great hobby tip just a small amount you can always add more
put tesseract glow in them and it’ll look like energy glowing through the armor
Similarly do gold and make it look like rust lines
Gold doesn't rust tho
I usually don't bother, I like my Necrons decayed. Otherwise: green stuff.
this is what i end up doing as well!
I just overfill with plastic glue and sand/shave until smooth

Mr.Hobby’s - Dissolved Putty

I just leave em and incorporate them into the design
I always put down some super glue, sprinkle in baking soda, then sand it smooth
I think this gap is supposed to be visible but it’s got gunged up a bit

I've used super glue as a gap filler. Just load it on and sand it down.
I put real thin strip's of green stuff in them, pressed them down and then used my dremmel to sand off the excess. Kinda worked.
Anyone use Milliput for this? I have a bunch and the chemistry of Sprue Goo is slightly intimidating.
Do they come like that or did you chew them off of the srue sheet?

I don't. Because Immortals are still low born. The overlord has much more pressing concerns.
You gotta make some of that Tamiya Extra Thicc.
For how much I am a gap filler and a mold lines trimmer, I left those gaps untouched. Too mich effort to waste for a detail that isn't even annoying

For real these gaps are so big I was wondering if they were intentional and that I was being an idiot for filling them in.
I either use a bunch of plastic glue on the shoulders when assembling, or use green stuff. Both will fill the tiny gaps well.
It's a Necron, it'll patch itself up just give it some time
for a one off, I might use greenstuff and tlc. For a full unit, gel super glue, sand it down.
You could not fill it and make it sort of glow instead playing it off as something ment to be there
