BTW this recovery comes just after the peso hit rock bottom lows https://www.reuters.com/markets/currencies/argentine-black-market-peso-hits-record-low-gap-official-rate-climbs-above-50-2024-01-17/ Why are r/neoliberal users so fucking stupid?

Plants_et_Politics

Looks to me like the previous government caused hyperinflation and Milei hasn’t stopped it.

TesticularVibrations

Then why is he being put on a pedestal? He's done fuck all, but r/neoliberal users obsess over him like a weeb obsesses over their favourite hentai girl

He has made some significant changes, which the subreddit believes will ultimately be beneficial. Economies don’t change on a dime, they take several years. Blaming Milei for this would be like blaming Obama for the financial crisis, rather than crediting him for a fairly decent recovery.

I hope he also passes reforms to decimate any progress in Argentina for what he calls the "neo-marxist lie" that is climate change. So we can credit him for that. He also believes that Trump's presidency was stolen because of vote fraud. So hopefully he can use his official diplomatic channels to cast further doubt on the elections this year, if Biden is coming ahead. Then we can also credit him for that. You know what, you guys really do deserve another 4 years of Trump. You deserve each other.

Argentina isn’t really a major polluter, nor is it a part of the United States, so I don’t really see how either of those two things matters much for helping the people of Argentina, who have suffered under Peronist rule.
