Considering I’m planning on this being super chill, I suspect it’s fine to just show up. I’ve gone batting on my own a bunch this past year and have only encountered another group once. I’m also all for playing by the rules.
Unless you're planning on playing an actual game with two teams of 9 players each, playing 9 innings, etc, then you don't have to rent any fields. If you're just a few people getting together to toss a ball around that's basically what parks are designed for.

Heck ya! Randy Johnson! I know little about baseball, the teams and their history but I do know that Randy Johnson was a Diamondback legend. What a guy. I still can’t believe that bird incident was real, that footage is wild. Mad respect to them pitchers, it’s practically an art form. I’ve tried “pitching” a bit recently and it was humbling.
I’m not sure whats considered hardball equipment but that’s generous and awesome of you. I have a bat and balls and will have a glove soon. I’m blown away by the amount of interest and am in the process of responding/reaching out to people.
That's awesome, I'm thinking of keeping it more casual, so not needing cleats/pants - though sliding pants are cool looking.
Some folks have mentioned not having gloves, so would be rad of you to join and if possible and brings gloves/balls/bat.

Hopefully the field won’t be in use. If it is a backup plan will be figured out.

I would love- pick up soccer games. I'm in my 40's and used to play A LOT, would love the team atmosphere again.
