FWIW, If that rope damaged the paint on the Jeep the driver could go after them for cost to repair it. Rights go both ways. In most places you don't get to just fuck other people's stuff up or unlawfully detain them because you want to. There is a point at which behavior stops being a lawful protest.

There's a world of difference between "I don't give a shit when dumb people face the consequences of their dumb actions," and "I'm going to kill people because they mildly inconvenience me," and I think that's pretty clear to anyone who's not a dumbass.

It really upsets me. I always worry about emergency vehicles. What happens if they've prevented an ambulance transporting a patient or a fire engine from getting through to a building? They've basically killed those people. Well not killed them but turned a possible survival situation into something much worse. Minutes and seconds do matter and it could turn a minor fire into an uncontrollable blaze with the delays that can be caused.
Ok, marching in the street by the thousands for a terrible injustice that was actively being performed in the exact places where people marched is not the same as a dozen people blocking a road with a rope for a cause that we don't even know about. Are they protesting for the environment? Black lives matter? Gaza? There's no telling. Not the same as MLK and the civil rights movement.
