Itās just poor colourization. I see reddit users doing this all the time. They see a black and white image and think, āwow this would be so much better in colour,ā so they stick it in some AI colourization app and share it like theyāve done the OP a service. They always look terrible.
It did a pretty good job on the Grandfathers skin.
If you look at hand colourised photos you'll see the same trend - a pretty good job on skin/faces and shitty background objects. I'm guessing because it's not worth the effort of doing the background properly. Even if it's AI, then if it's been trained on hand colourised photos, you'll see this effect.
My grandparents had 4 more after that! He loved kids. He had a great life and a big family with lots of grandkids and great grandkids. And my grandma is still alive and well, taking care of everyone like she always has!
6 kids? Wow Grandma is an iron woman! I'm happy to hear she's still around. My grandparents would be around her age but unfortunately their not here anymore. Enjoy her until you can (hopefully for many more years) and never forget to tell her how much you love her.
far more single people out there than not!! Plenty of fish in the sea brother. Work on yourself for you and just be who you want yourself to be and the rest will fall into place
This sounds cliche( of me), but it usually happens when you aren't looking.More to the point, once you free your mind of that heartbreak you're holding so tightly to, relax and go places, talk to people, before you know it, there you'll be!
No, they look like that, because they wear clothes and hairstyles what make them older. Make them different haircuts and other wardrobe and it will look different.
Lucky guy. Thereās nothing more wonderful than being a father two adorable little girls. That was my second thought.
My first was, āPATERNITY TEST NOT REQUIREDā. In a robot voice.
No, he wasnāt. He tried, but was ineligible because he was allergic to bees, and a bee sting would cause anaphylaxis. I think being ineligible was hard for him.
Iām not sure what that is, but I think it might be too high to be a trailer. He had several different jobs when he was in his teens and 20s - I think he did road construction, handyman work, farm work, etc. But I donāt think he was ever a trucker.
Beautiful photo and memory. My dad was also born in 1948 and I always love to imagine what life was like back then. Your grandfather looks like he was a proud father here. ā¤ļø
Granpa got home and got busy. Mom is an early boomer.
Nice guns!
Agreed! I felt so gross when I had that thought when I first saw this pic š

Absolutely amazing

Handsome man, beautiful kids, red telephone pole, perfect worldā¦great picture
And I think to myselfā¦ What a wonderful worldā¦
Well done
š¤£
And those pants were most definitely not a bright blue like that.
Yeah i was thinking the same thing. Seems off
Could be a type of red wood? But overly saturated. Definitely something off about the colour

Awesome. How'd you do that?
With a smartphone
Nice work! Goddamned hero.
It looks bad and unnatural! What are people smoking?!
Cigars
23 years and already two children? wow. I cant imagine having such a big responsability that young . Was he a veteran? I hope he had a great life :)
My grandparents had 4 more after that! He loved kids. He had a great life and a big family with lots of grandkids and great grandkids. And my grandma is still alive and well, taking care of everyone like she always has!

how does she feel about the kendrick diss track?
Even I am too old to know what that means, so if I asked her, Iād probably get a blank look or a pity laugh, LOL
That Drake deserved every bar!
It was the thing to do after the war! Baby boom!
Riight? And He looks like he could pass for 30-35. Looks older than me and I'm 32!
He worked hard and played hard! And he was a heavy smoker, so that tends to add some years.
Yeh, when i saw this picture i thought the same. I wonder why people in the past used to look older than their age.
He probably just got done spending several years kicking nazi or imperial japanese ass, that will age you pretty fast I'd imagine.
People nowadays are teenagers until they hit 30+ years old amd then wonder why old boomers look at young adult and say shit about them lmao
Good looking, man!
Oh, he knew, LOL!
Lol, I bet he did!
Wow, grandpa was a hottie!
He knew it, too! š
No wonder he had kids.
Ok this made me bust out laughing š¤£
Well me here at 25 canāt even get over a heartbreak. Thank you lord for such a blessing life.
Sometimes it takes time. You'll get there.
Nah, Iāve no belief Iāll be like this guy. Itās too late for me. Everyone has their sweethearts except me.
far more single people out there than not!! Plenty of fish in the sea brother. Work on yourself for you and just be who you want yourself to be and the rest will fall into place
Lol i met my now fiancƩe at 26 after being in a position like you. Just change your head space and just keep trying, sometimes its a numbers game, and your likely to find it eventually.
This sounds cliche( of me), but it usually happens when you aren't looking.More to the point, once you free your mind of that heartbreak you're holding so tightly to, relax and go places, talk to people, before you know it, there you'll be!
Your grandfather looks so stylish in this photo from 1948
Why are people upvoting an obvious bot?
Why did you say I am a bot? Do you have a proof?
Why do all 20 year olds in the 40s and 50s look mid to late 30s?
Institutional use of lead and heavy consumption of cigarettes, Iād guess
Well, itās also a pretty big chance that he fought in a world war
No, they look like that, because they wear clothes and hairstyles what make them older. Make them different haircuts and other wardrobe and it will look different.
I think also (strong) personality shapes their looks as well
The world wars and cigarettes didnāt help.
The war
God damn hes 23 and looks like that bruh im 23 an i look like his daughter
At 23 your gramps puts us all to shame. What an absolute unit.
Got that Eddie Cochran vibe
the hand on the cheek is adorable af
I think so, too!
Lucky guy. Thereās nothing more wonderful than being a father two adorable little girls. That was my second thought. My first was, āPATERNITY TEST NOT REQUIREDā. In a robot voice.
š
Awesome picture!! š
Thank you!
Beefcake!
Heās not like us scrawny losers
Heās hotā¦ someone had to say it š¤
Haha! Yes, when I first saw this picture I said, āgrandpa was hot!ā and then immediately feltš¤¢
Very cool! Was he in WWII?
No, he wasnāt. He tried, but was ineligible because he was allergic to bees, and a bee sting would cause anaphylaxis. I think being ineligible was hard for him.
Looks like young Jerry Lee Lewis!
Dang...Gramps is sexy...
Grandpop is fit! What a sweet pic.
Thank you!
Liam Neeson with a Kirk Douglass chin dimple
He looks 40 or more.
Heavy smoker. It takes a toll on the body.
Nothing has taken a toll on that body. He looks fantastic. Very good looking man. Besides, the face is the first to age from smoking and his hasn't.
Hence why he looks old.
Wrong! He might been heavy smoker, but i itās not the reason why he l looks older. Itās the hairstyles and wardrobe what make that.
What? If I didn't know I'd think late 20s, but 40 or more? No way.
23 year olds nowadays can't even afford housing
Going out on a limb thatās a flatbed trailer to the right. Was he a trucker?
Iām not sure what that is, but I think it might be too high to be a trailer. He had several different jobs when he was in his teens and 20s - I think he did road construction, handyman work, farm work, etc. But I donāt think he was ever a trucker.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes, he was š
Looks like Lou Gehrig.
Gramps looks 32 instead of 23
Was he a boxer? Athlete not the dog š
Nope, those guns are from manual labor!
He has nice biceps and veins!
Beautiful photo and memory. My dad was also born in 1948 and I always love to imagine what life was like back then. Your grandfather looks like he was a proud father here. ā¤ļø
He was, thank you! š
On Dadās side he and my uncle were silent generation and when grandpa got home from Japan, they had my aunt and uncle who are baby boomers.
Grandpa is kind of jacked. Confirms my own theory that when you are that good looking you can make any clothing look good.
that generation were the real deal. I knew my wife's grandparents. they were full of life.
,, . )
Didn't he travel into the future?
23??????
I bet he was killing Nazis a few years before this photo was taken.
did he possibly shoot someone from a book depository in dallas texas in november of 1963 ?
Nope, definitely not! But I went with him to the Sixth Floor Museum in the early 90s and recall he really enjoyed it.
20 years older
