Unfortunately doesn't matter for me because my company has federal contracts so legal for kansas doesn't mean legal for me and a positive test would still get me fired. But it absolutely should be legalized especially Federal level

Same 😔

At least it's being changed to a schedule 3 drug so I wonder if it'll remain on drug tests. I assume it will but who knows.

Did some research today on that actually that lead to very unclear answers that then lead to me reading the entire controlled substances act and the Reagan law that made federal employees using marijuana illegal. Short answer is most likely will be legal but with some caveats. Long answer about when and how and why: Anytime a drug is requested to be raised, lowered, scheduled or descheduled by a legitimate party unless they declare it an emergency scheduling which is temporary (but that’s very unlikely here as that has historically only been used for adding new harmful drugs until more research is possible.) it begins a process of the DEA and a few other agencies reviewing all of the most up to date and comprehensive studies on the effects of the substance. Assuming it passes that it will be officially rescheduled as schedule 3 which immediately officially reclassifies it as a medicine. The law that makes federal employees unable to use THC is a 1986 law passed by Reagan which bans the use of any Schedule 1 or 2 substance from being used by federal employees. With that being said some organizations may still be free to set their own standards if they disapprove of THC (however that’s also being debated) But if they stick to the way they currently treat other schedule 3 substances, what will happen is your doctor would be able to prescribe you marijuana, that you could then get from a pharmacy or something similar. The confusing aspect of it however is that there are specific regulations required for the prescription of schedule 3 substances that current medical dispensaries do not currently deal with and are genuinely not equipped to do so. Whether they’ll force them to submit to schedule 3 regulations or amend the law or simply ignore them due to the tax revenue they bring, and imposing difficulties on the legal marijuana market not being the intent of the law is yet to be seen and there’s not a strong consensus.

IMO... It's gonna be awhile, even in the hypothetical scenario where it becomes Federally legal. KS was one of the last states to start selling alcohol again on Sunday's. As another poster stated, it's about the crotchety old asses making up the laws in Topeka. But in reality it isn't legalized yet because they haven't figured out how to corner the market yet & get everything in motion so they can benefit financially. Once they do that, I imagine it'll be legalized shortly thereafter... and like 95% of the money raised in sales will line their pockets.

When it is legalized federally... We unfortunately continue to vote into office officials who are against you on this topic.

Once the Kansas legislature isn’t full of incompetent and/or old Republican dumbasses. The DEA is bringing it down to a schedule 3 drug so it will have a higher chance of becoming federally legal, but still depends on whether republicans or democrats run the house and senate. Kansas will still likely be one of the last states to allow even medicinal mj

As long as I can go visit our neighbors to the east and get it, they can take as long as they want.
