Entei Valiant. Yoga Loop gives them an extra turn.

No-Huckleberry2449

Is Entei the main hitter here? I'm confused caused he never really use any energy other than on Entei

AnAbsurdlyAngryGoose

Entei is the main attacker in Entei Valiant. Entei hits for 220 if both players have a full bench, and Valiant strategically places damage counters to put beefier mons in range of it. It sounds like they were either playing wrong, or bricked and improvised.

yuephoria

Yeah, it seems like the player probably hasn't fully learned how to use the deck.

Kered13

The typical strategy is to try to use Iron Valiant + Yoga Loop to get a turn 1 KO and an extra turn. Hopefully get another KO on that bonus turn. Then it's just attacking with Entei while using Valiant for bonus damage, maybe sniper some weak bench pokemon. The deck tends to start explosively and can even win on turn 1, but then fizziles out, as it doesn't have any draw engine, exclusively runs low HP 2 prize pokemon, with only a middling attacker. If you can survive the initial onslaught and get Charizard and Pidgeot out, you'll probably win.

BrainWrex

It’s actually a pretty solid deck, goes for donks and yoga loop early. Falls off late game though it’s big strength is knocking your small guys out keeping you from playing and if you evolve via rare candy there plenty of damage around for a big tm devo play. Entei is the main attacker since he hits hard and can be powered up in one turn with magma basin. Really solid for controlling the match early game.

predatoure

yeah valiant are just there to put damage counters on your pokemon.

You guys gave some solid explanation! Appreciate all of it, it's my first time I've seen this deck and was expecting to lose cause I actually have no cards other than those 2 😅 might be interesting to encounter this deck again and see its solid play.

Due_Campaign1432

Prob didn't draw his energies. If he Yoga Looped you he would have gotten another turn to do the same thing to Chamrander and won. Especially with the Yoga Loop/Squawk and Seize Bug

No-Huckleberry2449

Yeah I was expecting to lose! Might have had his energies at the bottom or so

Board_dude23

As a Charizard abuser I have played against the Tachyon many times. Had one earlier whom drew their ENTIRE deck in a few turns, I didn't even get a Charizard down, survived the onslaught, and they ended up conceding because 0 cards left. One wrong play on that deck can ruin the entire sequence, but yes it's entirely based off the initial blitz and then falls off.

what does it look like? read the cards
