GOTTA Take the Soulforger Dedication for *any* Radiant. Other than that, Fighter or Barbarian ATM feels like the best fit, maybe Commander once that full releases?

WACKY_ALL_CAPS_NAME

Dalinar might be the only Radiant who doesn't need Soulforger because the Stormfather won't manifest as a Sword

TloquePendragon

Right, I was thinking of Shardplate, but Dalinar hasn't spoken the 4th ideal yet.

PartyMartyMike

YET.

Aether27

debatable

At the risk of being captivated by the new hype, I feel like Commander has got to be the right choice for class. And then witch dedication with his patron being the >!Stormfather -- Patron theme: Spinner of Threads or Nightwatcher -- Patron Theme: Pacts!<(stormlight archive spoilers). Background could be Royalty, or maybe Haunted.

Dalinar could definitely be a commander - but if you're building *The Blackthorn* you're gonna need someone more heavily weapons-oriented. Plus key ability INT and barely literate is a questionable combination lol I could definitely see The Thrill as a flavor of Barbarian rage

ninth_ant

Oh that's a solid point, I was doing book-era Dalinar but Blackthorn-era would be very interesting too. Love your idea of The Thrill as barbarian rage. It's a shame there isn't an Oracle curse to cover that sort of uncontrollable bloodlust, that would be fun as an alternate Battle mystery as well. You do tremendous damage but after all enemies are defeated you have to do a will save to stop from turning on your allies, maybe? But yeah, I see what you mean about Dalinar and Int not matching very well. However as a leader the commander role just fits so well that it has to be the best choice.

ChazPls

I was mostly kidding, in later books I think Commander would fit well. But yeah I also considered an Oracle - but the closest one is Battle and it just isn't quite right. Any high level, armored pf2e character fits the bill of a shardbearer kind of perfectly though. You reach a point where you're basically untouchable to low level mooks. All of your attacks against them are crits, likely instant kills.

Aether27

he's also the single greatest battlefield commander on the planet though, and saying "barely literate" as a point against his intelligence is kinda silly based on the fact that 99% of Vorin men don't read. He knows glyphs, which as we know IRL are basically just a pictographic language anyway

ChazPls

I'm very sorry to have made a joke on the Internet, Brightlord. It won't happen again

Aether27

I have to apologize, the lady reading your comment to me didn't make it sound like a joke. She will be left outside for the Stormfather's judgement.

d12inthesheets

Joking? What's next? Using lay on hands with your safehand!?

Aether27

This post is just making me want to create homebrew archetypes for the radiant orders. If only we knew HOW THEY ALL WORKED!
