A light breeze.

Classic_Spread_3526

Maybe thats why people run defensive items with it. It then takes 2 breezes to kill it

AnxiousUmbreon

Oh god no, is that a crosswinds? 😱

Classic_Spread_3526

Gone

Alistar-Dp

Not the crosswinds! *Flashbacks to Shrek* "Not my gumdrop buttons!"

DiegoG2004

Hitting it with literally anything

OtherwiseMei0

Try playing an assassin character

pussy-eater143

Tried. Absol is amazing if you get the early advantage.

Alistar-Dp

Decidueye is my most played pokémon. All I can say is use anyone that can close the distance quickly. The thing about decidueye is that he does more damage at max distance (with basic attacks / razor leaf). Get in close and all of a sudden that damage diminishes very quickly.

DoritosGK

With anything. The tipper of the arrow on Spirit shackle deals more damage and I believe the unite move does too

Alistar-Dp

This is true! Nice tip (pun intended lol) 👌

Classic_Spread_3526

Half the roster turns it into ropa vieja. You just need to find a way to close the distance and catch it without a tank.

ilikedota5

Note: ropa vieja literally means old clothes, but is more commonly a delicious dish of shredded meat.

mrSilkie

Greedent

Classic_Spread_3526

As a terror- I mean greedent player I support this message

mrSilkie

Greedent is really good against owl. You can get in and out easy, if I see owl ult I zoom over knowing that they're stuck can can't rotate quick enough to hit me. Greedent also makes it easy to juke the arrow shot

Classic_Spread_3526

Pop the eurobeat while playing it

Wandering_Tenzin

I've tried this, and this is hilarious 😆🤣 I always target that birb, so fun 😆

AnxiousUmbreon

I’ve been maining it lately, and anything that can close the distance and deal quick burst damage typically can make me miserable. The mons I fear the most: falinks because I just can’t seem to do enough damage to put it down before it two taps me. Sometimes one taps. Dragapult because the good ones uncloak right next to me in the back lines and erase before I can scream. Leafeon because there’s just no hope for escape once he decides he wants you. Honestly same for most speedsters, but leafeon and Zoroark especially. Trev because he just soaks every ounce of damage I can throw at him and pins me against a wall and hammers me. 🫣

Roaming_Sun

Trev does what to you? 😆

DoritosGK

Decidueye pickrate went up after this

Roaming_Sun

🤣🤣

FirewaterDM

Play a more mobile character, or something that can assasinate him, or just dodge skillshots.

Flyingcowz

Brave bird talonflame turns it into dust.

thomasmoors

Speedsters or lots of cc

Roaming_Sun

Eject button. As others have said, anything can kill it, just get close quickly.

pokederp56

A competent Leafeon is probably the surest bet for taking down the owl. So long as you have unite you can pretty much one shot him whenever you see him. Just be wary of leaf storm if you're not good at dodging.

desertkitty91

As a Decidueye main…every single other pokemon is a good counter. It’s very strong but super fragile sadly.

_ZBread

Mimikyu, any speedster.

Rud_gamer

Literally. Everything. Just walk up to it

ilikedota5

The fact that OP is struggling with this tells me that OP is playing squishy immobile pokemon that doesn't counter Decidueye, or is playing pokemon that does but doesn't know how to close the gap. Either way, OP, you need to work on your positioning. Ask yourself some questions: where am I on the map, what am I doing, what should I be doing. Where are my allies, what are they doing, what should they be doing. Am I or my allies dead because they got caught out away from the enemy team? Where are the enemies? Are they visible? What are they doing, competing for farm, invading to find an enemy to kill, trying to take down a regi? If they aren't, where could they be and what are they doing there? Where they might be headed? And always look at the minimap. The amount of teammates who are one screen away and just let me die is infuriating.

pussy-eater143

True that. I have been Doing Tyranitar ans Buzzwole mains lately and the decidue is a menace. Never ever felt decidue as a threat earlier as I played majorly with Absol and Gyarados with masaive mobility.

ilikedota5

You should be able to just walk up to them and smack them as Tyranitar especially, possibly for Buzzwole. If not either you are not evolved or that Deci is massively ahead.

AnxiousUmbreon

If it’s a spirit shackle build yeah it should be super easy to just walk in and kill him, but if it’s a razor leaf build and x speed isn’t ready decidueye can just shred him from just outside of range. Sure, you’ve got the sandstorm charge but if they have eject button and you can’t counter it with your own or e speed decidueye will likely win that scenario in a vacuum.

ilikedota5

Well then you have to play razor leaf, which requires getting close, which requires a coordinated team. Said coordinated team with give OP headaches because that team would be able to counter TTar.

AnxiousUmbreon

Yeah razor leaf decidueye does require a strong front line or feels like throwing, I’ll give you that. Either they stun for me and I can get a penta in under 10 seconds or there’s no cc and back line crumbles. Although when you think about that, that’s kind of true of the game in general, not just decidueye. In my experience the team with less cc tends to have a tough time.

TheRealStringerBell

If it's spirit shackle then that Decidueye should be far away from Ttar and in addition have tank/support peeling for them.

ilikedota5

Both should have tanks and supports but the reality is a) those pokemon might not be picked, b) those players on said pokemon might not recognize the need to, or c) some very dumb owls that think they are playing Zoroark.

TheRealStringerBell

There's the dilemma with picking Decidueye, if your team doesn't pick anything to peel for you then you can't do anything except snipe people with shackle shot and ult from far away. If you play Decidueye like this it's basically not even a real game for you and you woulda been better off picking something else.

ilikedota5

That being said, we are assuming competent enemies and that they picked deci counters. In reality there is a bit more wiggle room, but then the next question becomes why not Inteleon.

SonKilluaKun

The thing is Deci is probably going to have a frontline, their frontline isn’t going to let you walk on by and smash their backline unless you’re playing a hyper mobile char( or they suck). without flanking or beating their front you won’t be able to touch their back, which is why deci can be a problem.

SonKilluaKun

Again I’ve been messing around with volt switch Zera to terrorize backlines as it’s so easy to get in and out and pressure them. CC mages like Delphox can also pressure them with moves like fire spin to disrupt and keep them from playing back for free

SonKilluaKun

The thing about MoBAs is, you don’t have to get a KO to get value.. if you put enough damage/pressure on someone, you can set a position where (if they value their life) they need to back up, which alleviates their influence in the skirmish. If they don’t back up you can send them to spawn, if they do that’s one less person to worry about.

ilikedota5

The problem with that is that I don't think it fully holds up due to small map and low death timers. It's why Tyranitar is kind of uncounterable because no matter how many times you kill Pupitar and Larvitar they'll reach level 13 by the end eventually. The only reason why that strategy works on some pokemon like Talonflame and Zeraora is because of powercreep and them having lower stats.

Current-Comparison22

Azuuuu + bush

Original_Map_7503

Chasing it with Curse / Pain split / X speed Trevenant

Gabridefromage

Yeah, pick duraludon Pick flash canon duraludon. It's really great to counter deci, great damage and range, and will auto aim deci. /s

Kaffei4Lunch

Talonflame press Fly and enjoy the free kill/free Eject

Murky-Analyst-7765

Hit it from the back.

dfinkelstein

Hold eye contact for more than four seconds.

SonKilluaKun

I’ve been playing Zera a bit recently to deal with this backline heavy issue. Volt Switch with anything allows you easy access to their backline and to at least put pressure and damage on them, distracting them from freely putting damage on your team with little to no risk. If you’re in draft make sure someone has the ability to dive their backline if you see this character picked. If it’s blind pick, still make sure you have one who can pressure backlines to distract them from being a nuisance for free. Most speedsters are great for this

Worthintendo

Greedent, if I'm playing my fat Squirrel and I see that thing on the otherside, Grinch smile begins to form.
