That’s exactly the reason I didn’t retreat. Based on earlier in the match, he didn’t know that Pain Split redirects damage. I was fighting at 1hp because I knew that since he had max phantom force stacks he would be shredding himself while I get healed.

If you're an ADC (which both dragapult and M2Y are) and somehow the defender is in your face, you're doing something very wrong, especially if you're playing PF dragapult and any form of M2Y
The Mewtwo barely had time while mega evolved and Dragapult foolishly went right up to your face. Plus, Pain Split made the pult take most of your damage.
Also when the tank class is tanky:
That worked as intended. You just get range on that defender and he’s useless. They both just face tanked the tank.
Most attacker players are braindead morons that don't know what their range indicator means.

Only if you engage and play into it, it's slow and has a short range. Avoid it.
