Every KD have their downtime not just korean, and to say u able to kick them out of z5 completely during downtime sounds impossible as flag don't get burned totally in an hour even if u able to smash the flag the forts can still stand in like 24 hours though
Pretty much this. My last KD was an mostly Asian KD, but we were fighting a mostly American KD, the downtimes between the two and the race to take as much land as possible between them was a complete war of attrition. We take as much as we can until we hit downtime, then try to reclaim as much as possible and even their territory before their uptime again.
Even during my KD's downtime there was us "international" players that would at least slow them down some.
But also one factor from OP's message was that it was Z5, so most likely just bailing out to save for the next fight in Z6. Makes no sense to go super hard in Z5, knowing that you will have a fight in other zones as well.
Korean kings usually have a rule for engagement to avoid useless fighting. If you ignore the rule and fight anyways then they would zero you out themselves
If you push them out easily then that means holding on to the territory isn’t a priority for them and they are preparing for a bigger battle ahead
As a international player in 1671 with the Korean alliance.. i can confirm, when they sleep, they SLEEP. But KNOW you'll be pushed back during the up time, just how they roll 😉
Korean kingdoms are typically just korean players. Where other kingdoms will have a blend of NA/SA/SEA/Europe to varying smounts. So other kingdoms that will have a downtime blunted by an overlap of international coverage while other time zones sleep.
As we were allied with a Korean kingdom last kvk I realized the same thing. They don’t fight unless they have a somewhat good number. They also probably threaten those who fight alone. It’s smart but easily backfireable if you underestimate the other kingdoms
