This - I always say to folk I'll do my very best to resolve the issue but once they start with the attitude that's me done, I don't get paid enough to deal with shite off people at work, I wouldn't put up with it outside.
Simple customer service formula:
Someone is nice to us, we will do our utmost to help them, going above and beyond if needed. Someone is not, and we do the bare minimum to get rid of them quickly.
Oh that's super EASY, call the moron who thought this pamphlet was a good idea and let them deal with the 'customer' because you don't pay me anywhere near enough to be abused....
Not forgetting these idiot get paid A LOT more than the poor member of staff who is likely part time and minimum wage (often the teenage rate) they have no issue throwing these poor folk into a dangerous situation as long as it doesn't affect them..
Myself, I've never understood this philosophy, you allow one entitled customer to abuse your staff and countless other customers, to save the business of the one irate idiot who is unlikely to return, along with several customers who will go anywhere they don't have to witness this crap, when what should happen is a zero tolerance approach to abuse of any kind, staff and customer, and although it won't stop these idiots initially, when people see banning orders being issued to them, it will improve...
Id love for multiple decent customers to complain to a higher manager about a junior manager allowing customers to abuse staff and rewarding the customer for it... it'll turn into a snake eating its tail....
Unless to "wow" someone has suddenly become a term for walking away from somebody with a "you think I get paid enough to deal with your bullshit?" look on my face, then I have no idea what the actual answer is.
I know someone who did that. He had retired and took a job in B & Q just for something to do (rather than the money). A whining, entitled customer started giving abuse and he just told him to fuck off - then handed his notice in.
Waitrose actually treats their staff pretty well in my experience (although maybe I just had good managers). Generally when we had issues with abusive customers we had management’s support in kicking them out.
I'd wow the bitch by calmly explaining although as the customer she may feel she has a God given right to be rude and and abusive, actually she doesn't.She might find if she acted in a respectful way and actually used common manners then her day would probably be a lot better than it is currently, and anyone she encounters would be more open to assisting her. However, until she employs these tactics she will find she won't get what she wants no matter how abusive or loud she may get.And her actions will only draw attention to her behaviour for all to see. If she started recording the interaction as some kind of "threat" to upload on some kind of social forum, I would happily pass her the email address of the marketing team that no doubt published this leaflet and most likely never had a day working with customers and to kindly ask them to deal with her enquiry. AKA...A polite, go fuck yourself.
The training video with the woman trying to return a Hoover at Argos always made me laugh. She'd have been told she's not getting a refund and not to bother darkening my door again. Don't put up with customers being loud and abusive.
Do you remember the one with the guy who was nicking booze? At first, my answer to the problem was just let him walk out of the store, but then the thief nodded at the staff member and said "good boy". My response very quickly changed to helping the thief leave the store on a stretcher lol.
Not a Sainsbury’s worker (any more) but this was on my front page. Shocking way to treat staff on the shop floor. Wtaf. Don’t really want to give my money to them any more.
Abusive people should not be rewarded. I’ve worked in my job for ten years and only recently do we have an abusive customer process. The things peoooe have said to me with no consequences is disgusting. But we should all pity people like that
Wow this customer? Jeez if people are being deliberately rude to me they can swivel not be wowed. I'm a retail supervisor and am not paid enough to put up with shit like that let alone minimum wage. That customer would get the absolute minimum if that and get told to bugger off under my breath. What a stupid leaflet, how about supporting your staff if a customer is obnoxious not telling your team's how to lick their asshole!
This genuinely makes me want to stop shopping at Sainsbury's. I don't want the staff there felling like they have to oblige an AH. No minimum wage paying job is worth this kind of thing.
I just ignore anything offensive or abusive. Or better yet, laugh. If someone is trying to upset you, there is no better comeback than letting the abuse roll off you
I have never worked at Sainsbury’s but this popped up on my feed.
I would like to think that I would say something like “Are you naturally this much of an arsehole or did it take years of practice?”
In reality I would probably curse them in my head, while reluctantly assisting them with their problem, then come here to vent about it.
I'd ask her to follow me then lead her to the door, and politely tell her to please leave and never come back, all whilst remaining calm and smiling. It would definitely wow her, but not the way other people were expecting.
Make them leave, and never come back. So you can focus on the customer who deserves help and support. “I’m sorry sir or madam, but if you could kindly leave so I can spend my time helping someone who qualifies as a human being” 😁
This is completely backwards.
Sainsburys shouldn't be putting their staff in a position to have to deal with these people. Service should be flat out refused until certain members of the public can learn to behave themselves.
Pandering to these entitled so-and-so's is what had led to this situation in the first place.
Sainsburys is full of shit. I was an employee of Sainsburys in 2019
For reference I have quite server self harm scars on my arms and neck & an older customer became abusive towards me with words: I decided to leave my till, get my stuff and walk home and I had a breakdown. My Manager via text message told me to come in to discuss my behaviour. I was let go due to me not wearing a green sunflower lanyard and not agreeing to change contract. I never looked back. AWFUL COMPANY.
Rock her world sexually give her 5+ powerful orgasms in a beautiful display of mutual and prolonged lovemaking thus breaking the spell of her frustration fueled anger.
I will say that some businesses do hide behind their telephone customer service staff. A particular telecoms company springs to mind - they are really poor and send out random demands for payment for services you have not had from them. You try the decent approach with the person you speak to but it gets you no where. You can end up so frustrated that bad behaviour comes out which is stressful for all involved ie the customer and staff member. Nothing gets resolved. You can be left feeling helpless and what I would now say to the person you are speaking to is do they realise who and what they are working for - are they paid enough to deal with customers at their wits end? Probably not. Pass it on up to supervisors before getting embroiled in an argument and if you are not allowed to do that then perhaps work elsewhere. At the end of the day your ultimate boss won’t care about you at all if they have to cut staff etc.
I am someone who would put up and shut up normally and I think big companies abuse this characteristic.
The more rude the customer, the more disinterested I'm going to appear, to the point that I'll be gazing at her like some sort of dribbling vegetable.
To be fair, that's probably why I no longer work in retail and moved to IT
Tell her that haircut looks very stylish, and did she achieve that look with a bowl on her head and she then cut around it as I havent had that style myself since my mother cut my hair as a child in the 80s and was too tight to take me to the barbers. Then slip a couple of packets of fruit pastils in her pocket and start shouting thief!...and that will be me banned from another group! 😂👍
It doesnt state whether to Wow the customer in a good way or a bad way.
You could do something completely level with her and she responds with "Wow how rude". Mission failed successfully.
I'm not a Sainsbury's employee.
However if I saw this pamphlet, I'd nip home and grab the trusty orange shirt with short sleeves.
I'd nip over to the lovely Sainsbury's in Fallowfield or Hillsborough and I'd hang about until a 'Customer needs wowing'
I'd then offer them anal sex as a salve for their ongoing issues. Total eye contact. Brooding tones.
Tell her what you think of people like her. That her life is so uninteresting that she has to find something wrong with everything and complain to people she thinks she is superior. Well she is not and tell her how little you care about her life and you won't give 2 shits if she died. Providing it's not on store property because you can't be bothered with the paperwork.
I have worked in retail for 8 years so you can understand my opinions
I wow them by letting them know that i dont yet paid to be spoken to in that manner and, unless something changes, I'll be forced to ask them to leave.
Someone should send this picture to the CEO and other execs and ask how they’d deal with it on the shop floor. Perhaps they can share some of that experience they definitely have that got them to where they are today…
Tell them to get the fuck out of my face. I’m a human being not an object for you to muck about with for your enjoyment. No job is worth being treated like a mug for.
True story ...
Years ago, I had a weekend job in B&Q and one day an "abusive, rude customer" was mouthing off loudly to one of the full-timers.
**"You! I bought this in here last week and it's fallen to bits! What do you suggest I do about it?!**
*"Have you tried standing in front of a mirror and going: ha ha, ha ha ha ha?"*
Full-timer immediately pivots and walks away without waiting for a reply. I nearly died laughing.
I don’t even attempt to wow abusive customers. Bare minimum. If that. Rewarding their behavior with something wow-worthy just reinforces the behavior!
This - I always say to folk I'll do my very best to resolve the issue but once they start with the attitude that's me done, I don't get paid enough to deal with shite off people at work, I wouldn't put up with it outside.
Don't worry a manager will usually reward them with a gift card
Simple customer service formula: Someone is nice to us, we will do our utmost to help them, going above and beyond if needed. Someone is not, and we do the bare minimum to get rid of them quickly.
Yer I have had when I was on IT service desks get given abuse and even threats I just do the bare bare bare min helps I have managers who back me
If I already know she’s an abusive rude customer I’m not going anywhere near her
I wow them by getting my manager as they are likely to ask for them anyway. Why wait?
Double wow 🤩
10 out of 10 comment. High five!
Oh that's super EASY, call the moron who thought this pamphlet was a good idea and let them deal with the 'customer' because you don't pay me anywhere near enough to be abused....
It's easy for the people nice and safe in head offices to come up with shit like this because they don't face it.
Roundhouse her right on the chin.
wow!
ROAD HOUSE !
Unless to "wow" someone has suddenly become a term for walking away from somebody with a "you think I get paid enough to deal with your bullshit?" look on my face, then I have no idea what the actual answer is.
Tell her to fuck off, that will make her go wow
I would *love* if this was the reverse side of the pamphlet. Alas!
I know someone who did that. He had retired and took a job in B & Q just for something to do (rather than the money). A whining, entitled customer started giving abuse and he just told him to fuck off - then handed his notice in.
Love to see sainsbury justify why they're encouraging abuse of their staff. Anyone seen this floating on twitter?
This was a photo that I took at work a few years ago (June 2019). I also remember there being a hoo-ha on Yammer over this poster at the time.
Yeah rude is one thing but abuse?? No way does any employee have to put up with that, let alone “wow” said abuser…
Send them to a manager.
Offer directions to Waitrose
They don't want the lower class abusers
Waitrose actually treats their staff pretty well in my experience (although maybe I just had good managers). Generally when we had issues with abusive customers we had management’s support in kicking them out.
I will wowlk away
I'd wow the bitch by calmly explaining although as the customer she may feel she has a God given right to be rude and and abusive, actually she doesn't.She might find if she acted in a respectful way and actually used common manners then her day would probably be a lot better than it is currently, and anyone she encounters would be more open to assisting her. Kick her square in the fanny.
This is the correct answer! You've won £2.50 on your Love It account
Finish her.
That needs ripped off the wall and put in the bin. The audacity.
I'm sorry, I don't deal with abusive customers. They get told to get fucked and come back with a better attitude.
Send her to Aldi.
Pretend I'm deaf
This is illegal lol you can't force employees to be put through abuse.
German Suplex that bitch.
Wow her with the power of my back hand, which is exactly why I can’t be dealing with people on a professional level
Wait... does Sainsbury's tolerate abuse in the workplace?
Swift kick to the flange
That's some weird looking toilet paper.
Drop the biggest, longest, wettest fart right as she finishes her complaint.
Jazz hands as I walk away to report her to security/pass this shit on to a manager.
Is this serious? Why would they expect you to deal with an abusive customer?
I would wow her by telling her to fu@& off
Not a Sainsbury’s worker (any more) but this was on my front page.
But we should all pity people like that
Tell her to smile. She’d be a lot easier to talk if she just smiled.
Wow this customer? Jeez if people are being deliberately rude to me they can swivel not be wowed. I'm a retail supervisor and am not paid enough to put up with shit like that let alone minimum wage. That customer would get the absolute minimum if that and get told to bugger off under my breath. This genuinely makes me want to stop shopping at Sainsbury's. I don't want the staff there felling like they have to oblige an AH. No minimum wage paying job is worth this kind of thing.
Show them your breasts and give them a years free sub to your OF
Not call her a karen?
can it be a "wow this guys a dick"?
Tell them that their attitude will get them nowhere and they are now barred for life
Not your job to wow them, they rude tell them you will be served by a colleague in a moment and walk off .
I expect when she is refused service for being rude and abusive, she may well go "wow"
Is this legit?!
Yes it was in the store I worked in.
A kick in her teeth
A sharp slap would make them go wow
Ban them from the store surely?
Be even ruder
Punch them square in the nose, that is certain to carry some 'wow' factor.
A sturdy brick to the head. Won't 'wow' her necessarily, but she be surprised. Less disruptive too for that matter
She'll be asked to leave. "Wow!" she says. Job done.
Ridiculous how the now want retail workers to have less human rights as everyone else
Show them my bum.
Accidentally pour a load of fish stock over them
I just ignore anything offensive or abusive. Or better yet, laugh. If someone is trying to upset you, there is no better comeback than letting the abuse roll off you
Tell them to shop at Morrisons as Sainsbury’s is too sophisticated for this kind of behaviour.
I have never worked at Sainsbury’s but this popped up on my feed. I would like to think that I would say something like “Are you naturally this much of an arsehole or did it take years of practice?” In reality I would probably curse them in my head, while reluctantly assisting them with their problem, then come here to vent about it.
I'd ask her to follow me then lead her to the door, and politely tell her to please leave and never come back, all whilst remaining calm and smiling. It would definitely wow her, but not the way other people were expecting.
Quit?
Once the customer becomes abusive is when I go and find my manager and take my break before I do something that will get me fired
Tell them no, it's probably the first time they've heard it
Wow them by refusing service!
Tell her to go outside, quickly shut the store and then wait for her to go away ?. Was I right ?
Reveal details of my many indecent escapades with his mother.
Nothing
I think pulling this flyer out infront of them to consult it for advice would sort out the situation quite swiftly.
You don't wow abusive customers. You avoid them and report them to security or the manager.
Punch them
Make them leave, and never come back. So you can focus on the customer who deserves help and support. “I’m sorry sir or madam, but if you could kindly leave so I can spend my time helping someone who qualifies as a human being” 😁
Kick her in the cunt
Tell her to f off to Tesco lol
Remember those tattoos where people used to get a W on each bum cheek?
Tell her to go suck a bag of dicks.
Tell the condescending cunt to go fuck themselves, I'm pretty sure that'd get a WOW response.
Omg seriously? Lol
Tell her to fuck off I don't want her business and no amount of rudness is going to make me do anything for someone so rude
Wow doesn’t necessarily mean something good. Sooooooo…..poop on her windscreen whilst she does the shopping.
"Sorry about your hair, theres a salon next door"
I would say why don’t you be abusive and rude somewhere else?
Give her the old razzle dazzle
This is completely backwards. Sainsburys shouldn't be putting their staff in a position to have to deal with these people. Service should be flat out refused until certain members of the public can learn to behave themselves. Pandering to these entitled so-and-so's is what had led to this situation in the first place.
A well timed fart.
Sainsburys is full of shit. I was an employee of Sainsburys in 2019 For reference I have quite server self harm scars on my arms and neck & an older customer became abusive towards me with words: I decided to leave my till, get my stuff and walk home and I had a breakdown. AWFUL COMPANY.
Rock her world sexually give her 5+ powerful orgasms in a beautiful display of mutual and prolonged lovemaking thus breaking the spell of her frustration fueled anger.
To impress a chick, helicopter dick
Take her to the hair dye section and ask offer her some personal recommendations
Kick them in the fanny. Also, what kind of toxic shit is this? Sainsburys needs to do better.
Kat Slater is waiting for her in the carpark
Tell them they're 'AlWaYs RiGhT'
*\[Say or do literally anything\]* "Wow, rude! I want to speak to the manager," Mission accomplished.
I told a customer to not be so fucking cheeky today tbh
Not a sainsburys worker but at my shop we usually tell them to get fucked, usually “wows” them I guess
You don’t get paid to tolerate that cunt of a customer. Walk the fuck away. They ain’t doing shit
Slap her across the face and say “go do one you cow”
Raise onto your hind legs and spread your arms to make you look bigger, then let out a howl to display dominance.
Tell her to fuck off you ain't paying enough to have me tolerate that shit. Since when did we start rewarding 'rude and abusive' anyway?
They’d be picking themselves off the floor saying “wow, that fucking hurt”
Tell them we have the right to withhold service and you now politely need to leave the store
Start by listening
Being abused isn't part of my job.
Back handed compliment Say something to make them feel guilty Call them a fat cow and hang up Walk off mid conversation. You are welcome.
The only reasonable answer is of course MURDER
Simply put, don’t help them.
Punch them in the d*ck?
Call the police on her for harassment?
I will say that some businesses do hide behind their telephone customer service staff. A particular telecoms company springs to mind - they are really poor and send out random demands for payment for services you have not had from them. Tell her to Take her business elsewhere, staff are not laid enough to take abuse from customers.
Send her my Spanish colleague who has very very broken English and watch a remake of faulty towers unfold 😁
I'll remind her where the fucking door is.
I will ask her if she wants a line of cocaine and then im the good guy
The more rude the customer, the more disinterested I'm going to appear, to the point that I'll be gazing at her like some sort of dribbling vegetable. To be fair, that's probably why I no longer work in retail and moved to IT
I would call them a cunt and tell them to fuck off.
“WOW” had better stand for Walk Off Wisely.
If she’s rude and abusive would she not be banned from the shop?
![gif](giphy|NU9M2FOUgaDfVtw04L|downsized)
The prices will wow her with how high they are
Is this actually real??
Slap that bitch
Tell her she looks sexy as f**k when she is angry. 😂
She can have a 4 pack of beans for £3 if she stfu . Are you wowed yet
pepper spray?
I’d wow Karen to the exit.
Tell ‘em to fuck of
I would probably tell them to F off with out saying F off
Tell her to fuck off .
I wouldn’t, I’d tell her to get out and don’t come back. My staff don’t deserve to be treated like that and they work bloody hard.
tell them to fuck off, then when they get there fuck off some more? just one of the many reasons i should never work retail.
knee em in the groin. theyll be wowing all over the floor
https://preview.redd.it/8trspz4tag0d1.png?width=368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=758f7d0226c8fc9733e64018d621475e53b41995 "To the front door with ya"
Carry out a dirty protest 🪧
Tell her to fuck off
The speed in which I call for security?
I’m a middle aged bitch too, try me
She’s already eliminated my going above and beyond. Get her out as quickly as possible so we all suffer less of her
I help her close the door on her way out
It doesnt state whether to Wow the customer in a good way or a bad way. You could do something completely level with her and she responds with "Wow how rude". Mission failed successfully.
I'm not a Sainsbury's employee. However if I saw this pamphlet, I'd nip home and grab the trusty orange shirt with short sleeves. I'd nip over to the lovely Sainsbury's in Fallowfield or Hillsborough and I'd hang about until a 'Customer needs wowing' I'd then offer them anal sex as a salve for their ongoing issues. Total eye contact. Brooding tones.
Bring her to the court and won the case over her 😁
Just straight up piss on her shoes while staring dead in her eyes. Got to assert dominance with a Karen or they'll think you're their bitch!
Is a dick pic the wrong answer??
Fuckssake Sainsbury’s, throw-your-staff-on the-bonfire-much?!
Direct them Asda,Tesco,Aldi or lidl.
Bitch slap them lol
Have you heard that we have some vulture meat in stock? you can find it in the mirror aisle
They just had to use the lady with the Karen cut
Rude abusive customers should be ejected from the store and banned. Too many companies now give in to abuse instead of defending their employees.
Tell them to go to Tesco
Tell her what you think of people like her. That her life is so uninteresting that she has to find something wrong with everything and complain to people she thinks she is superior. Well she is not and tell her how little you care about her life and you won't give 2 shits if she died. Providing it's not on store property because you can't be bothered with the paperwork. I have worked in retail for 8 years so you can understand my opinions
Simple, tell them they’re no longer welcome to shop here and walk off. We do not reward dickheads.
Fire them
The magic phrase I've learned in almost 20 years dealing with dickheads: "I'm not going to help you if you're going to speak to me in that manner."
Kick her right in the cunt.
Throat chop her
Upper cut
"Sorry madam I assumed you were wanting breath freshener and deodorants, both of which can be found in aisle x by the way"
Maybe rewarding people for being cunts is a bad idea?
Do a shit on her shoe! That’ll surely get a wow out of her !
Make a reasonable effort to find out why?
Call the police.
Punch in the jaw, luv?
Tell her she can shop somewhere else. I can guarantee she'll say "Wow." but not in the way they want.
I wow them by letting them know that i dont yet paid to be spoken to in that manner and, unless something changes, I'll be forced to ask them to leave.
I love that they got Karen for this material. 10/10.
Strike her in the nose immediately. ‘Wow, that really hurt!’
Its just wrong that abusive people have to be wowed. I guess thats just the way it is now
Punch her shiatsu dog in the face and bar her from Sainsburys
Can tell straight away due to the haircut.
Have security make sure she makes it to her car okay.
Help them while sneaking stuff in her bag then tell security
Got to say, whoever picked the model/photo did a great job. You can feel the entitled seethe coming off her picture like radiation.
Nothing. Being nice will just confirm her behaviour. Why can’t she just be called out?
Someone should send this picture to the CEO and other execs and ask how they’d deal with it on the shop floor. Perhaps they can share some of that experience they definitely have that got them to where they are today…
Tell them to get the fuck out of my face. I’m a human being not an object for you to muck about with for your enjoyment. No job is worth being treated like a mug for.
Power kick to the groin and put Karen through the ceiling
the haircut is perfect. 10/10 design.
Thunderpunch to the throat with a tin of Stamford Street beans.
True story ... Years ago, I had a weekend job in B&Q and one day an "abusive, rude customer" was mouthing off loudly to one of the full-timers. **"You! I bought this in here last week and it's fallen to bits! What do you suggest I do about it?!** *"Have you tried standing in front of a mirror and going: ha ha, ha ha ha ha?"* Full-timer immediately pivots and walks away without waiting for a reply. I nearly died laughing.
Tell her to f*ck off, that should get a "Wow!" Just not the one they want! 🤣
An abusive rude customer should not be tolerated, according to Sainsbury's own in store signs.
High five her forehead with my wang
