lol who knew there were schreiber stans out there. He wasn’t good last year nor trusted

cfmoran13

IMO, he certainly deserved a longer leash than our boy Brasier got in Boston.

Redbubble89

How can Breslow fix the minor league starter situation when the draft isn't until July and probably doesn't sign them until August? Schreiber was a right handed 6th inning reliever with just a funky arm slot. They are easily replaceable and you're looking at numbers 2 weeks into the season. The bullpen just had a bad week and the young kid in high A had a bad first start.

[deleted]

Brasier had no value. Schreiber had some value to cash in on at least. If you can trade a trending down reliever for a potential starter. You take that chance because good not great relievers are easily replaced.

cfmoran13

The only reason he was trending down was because they ragged his arm out from over-using him. Before going on the IL, he was having a pretty decent season. Bottom line, I’m just saying I’d rather still have him than some of the rag tag arms we have now.

Lenardisag09

Does he play SS?

cfmoran13

Probably better than Hamilton, Reyes or Valdez or any other hot garbage they put at the position.

MShields333

I'll always miss Johnny 8 mile

Life-Aardvark-8262

Can’t even remember who we got for him. Has he been good for the royals?

NEPatsFan128711

David Sandlin. Supposedly was touching 100 in his minor league start. Could actually be a legit starter, I’m fine with moving John for him

Good-Hank

This is good news at least. If he’s not a future starter 100 from the pen never hurt anybody

_CaesarAugustus_

Nah.

N8Sox

Weissert is a fine replacement.

No

Even bad Schreiber would be better than a lot of what we have now. But, yeah, he’s been good. 6 G, 5.2IP, 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.882 WHIP, 2 Holds FYI, we got David Sandlin. Killing it in the South Atlantic League. 1 G, 2.2IP, 0-1, 10.13 ERA, 2.250 WHIP. Big help to the Boston squad!

Redbubble89

Sandlin had a 3.65 ERA last year between low and high A with the Royals who are terrible at developing pitchers. We haven't had a single college pitcher in the system until Breslow. Fitts from Auburn and Sandlin from Oklahoma. There is also a couple others. Martin has had some weird fucking outings and I am impressed by Slaten as another rule 5 pick. It's the defense with Hamilton not touching 2nd or Devers and Valdez fucking up. Campbell has the stuff to be a good reliever but had a terrible series. There is also way too many right handers and from last year Schreiber was at the bottom. You are looking at numbers of nothing with one guy's terrible first outing but long term, it's still a great trade. Sandlin is 12th according to Sox Prospects and you're looking at one outing.

_CaesarAugustus_

Nope. Give it up. You’re alone.
