Very upset this is happening so close to my home, I know the West Midlands is a breeding ground for right wing extremist groups but it is haunting to see it especially tied to a hobby I love.
I just have to tell myself that anyone who is as unhinged as to hold the sort of abhorrent beliefs this guy does probably isn’t capable, or willing, to look beyond the surface level for any media they see.

Personally, I feel like the way in which fascists have become more active in recent years reeks of desperation. They do these things because they feel they are losing. This is why news like this is fantastic, because every next botched act of authoritarianism and democracy is an optical win for us (people who like liberty and democracy).
Fascism is resurging for multiple reasons, this among them. Its also an immune response of capital as socialist forces surge as the contradictions and fragility of capitalism become more transparent, providing discontent masses with an alternative to leftism that doesnt threaten capital.
Reactionary movements and action is on the rise and has been for a long while. It's a natural side effect of the centre politics failing again and again and again for decades. The austerity politics and deregulation by Thatcher and co led us right into full on neoliberal capitalism. And we know that it doesn't work. If leads to ever growing economic inequality and market bubbles that crash violently.
And the liberal centre got away with it for a while. Making excuses and coming up with reasons, promising things would get better with just a couple more deregulations and tax cuts for the wealthy, the market will work itself out in time... But they've been saying that for decades now and it isn't working. And people can tell it isn't working. They don't believe it anymore. Of course they don't. Things have not been getting better for the average worker for decades. They've been getting worse.
And so people leave the liberal centre politics. For the right and for the left. There are more Nazis and reactionaries than in a very long time. Because even though fascism is a lie it is at least a different lie and people are sick of what we've got. Anything but more of the same. But there are also a whole lot more lefties for the same reason. It's not a coincidence that Bernie and Trump exploded onto the political scene at the same time. Things are about to change.

Analyzing the brush strokes left in the paint with an electron microscope, it was found that the bristles used were not synthetic, meaning that they could not have been from the Artificer Brush Collection ™ (only 90 fucking dollars at your local store)
While I am happy with GW paints (minus white in pots) their brushes and tools are indefensible. A local artstore sells higher quality at a third of the price.
I prefer them in flip lid pots (if you close them the right way, you avoid getting any paint stuck in the lid ring), but at least you have many other options for droppers.
You can sort of wipe off the paint, on the underside of the 'tongue', on the inside of the ring before you close it. That way it doesn't get in the way of closing the lid.

Me and my partner are Muslim. I've lived here my whole life, and she most of hers. The growing hatred against Muslims doesn't get spoken about enough, and is outright denied by some politicians and parts of the media. But it's honestly starting to feel like it could all boil over again. It's scary, and it does make us feel like one day we might have to leave the country for our own safety- something I honestly never thought we'd have to consider.
This guy was only 19, it's obvious he's been groomed and twisted into this mindset online- but nothing will be done about it. There will be no Prevent for far-right ethno-nationalist teens. For me, the fact he has painted warhammer imagery onto something he would wear to slaughter people just highlights a grim immaturity about him, which underscores the pig headed hate of their whole ideology. It's sad, but the juxtaposition almost feels more insulting somehow.
To be clear, I'm not shaken by this little shit weasel- but what does worry me is the lack of condemnation I'll hear from politicians and the news. And even more scarily, the soft sympathy from a section of society that feels people like this are a justified result of them being pushed too far.

Citadel would be my favorite paint brand if they just put them in dropper bottles like normal people
