Pretty sure that's why it took so long to get from the Shield music hitting and Seth getting in the ring, instantly staying down the entire time and not getting in the ring to celebrate. I think that knee was gone during that point.
You gotta give the man props for still deciding to get in the ring with his knee completely fucked. Thats on an entirely different level of dedication right there.
Yeah the way he could barely stand up during that, KO helping him out outside the ring after, could tell he was really hurt no need to sell that hard at that point.
I was dead certain he wasn't selling because he was acting really weird.
The immediate yeet when he got in the ring was already odd but sitting down the entire celebration was odd.
I will never tolerate any seth slander, his gimmick maybe annoying at times but that dude gives his fucking all for WWE and really sacrifices himself. Even in story, he gave everything to help cody finally win it all, the true MVP of WM40
It was in my opinion the highlight of the match, here was a guy who went through hell to help someone try and win a stipulation. Then he loses his title after the beating he took, and STILL comes out to honor his word, ultimately giving Cody the distraction he needed to recover and beat Roman. In kayfabe he has basically the most integrity of any superstar.
For fucking sure. The optimist in me would love to see a beaten Roman hit rock bottom (damn, good one) for a few months and Seth be the one to have his back.
That's way more interesting. Going from being in total control to absolutely losing all objective sense and sanity has way higher potential than reverting backward to 'old enemy becomes friend' stuff.
In the old WWE, I'd say there's zero chance of them even knowing that more interesting option exists let alone having the balls to go for it. However, we're in uncharted waters and I'm cautiously giving HHH and WWE a little leeway in my expectations for what they could do given their new freedom.
Let the dude rest for several months so he can be back relatively healthy. It's not just his knee that was a problem, his back probably needs some time away from bumps as well.
He might get it repaired, or they might choose to remove part of it instead. If they do that, he’ll be walking crutch free in a couple of days and the recovery time won’t be as bad
Yeah my dad literally just had very similar surgery today, his meniscus and MCL and he’s only looking at a 4-6 week recovery time, and this is a 60 year old man who only golfs and bowls. Seth has top tier medical, rehab, ect so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s only a month
A fairly recent movie that has not aged well at all is THE PROGRAM.
Mid-90s movie about a salacious college football program. NIL killed the main plot of the movie, advances in sports medicine killed the subplot about Alvin Mack.
medical science and technology is a always evolving subject, hell, that scene from the sitcom Scrubs is very true, when one of the doctors tells his old friend ''hell, nowadays, if your out of med school for more than two years...half of what you learned is obsolete''
doctors and surgeons are constantly having to keep up throughout their entire careers because someone discovered something new and what they had already learned is now effectively either debunked or considered obsolete or too dangerous compared to the new style
I remember my buddy having a complete MCL tear 20 years ago and being off his feet for months. He spent the last month of his junior year on one of those leg scooters.
I agree with that, I was just pointing out that someone older and way more out of shape, with his only exercise being very minor minor, still has a pretty quick recovery time
Removal is often \*not\* what is recommended these days because of the long term effects it'll have on your enjoyment of a pain free life. Dwyane Wade opted to remove his meniscus and while he enjoyed quite a few years of all time great play, his play cratered as soon as his knees started yelling at him for not having all of his meniscus anymore. It just got progressively worse from there and to this day he talks about how it hurts to walk and such.
Even though it's a longer time period, repair and rehab is absolutely the best choice.
I hope he gets it repaired then instead of doing something to rush back. He’s been on TV a ton lately so if he was gone for six months or so he’d come back really fresh.
It can reduce stability as your meniscus is a shock absorber of sorts. I had quite a chunk removed and it took me a little while to rehab but the commenter above is right about walking within days and I was walking immediate y after surgery. I’m sure a professional athlete like Seth could come back quickly if need be, but I’m not an expert at all and am just going off my own experience. Don’t really know if he got it repaired or removed either.
Yeah, there's literally no rush to come back. Even if he takes a little bit extra time off he'll still be back in time for MITB PLE at the very least. And a little time away is a good way to keep your character from getting over exposed.
Even if he's only going to take a month to heal, I hope WWE gives him a lengthy time off and re-introduce him during summerslam or something similarly big. Use this time to build up other main eventers like Gunther
I’ve had meniscus surgery. I was crutch-free in a week, and back playing volleyball in three, with a heavy brace and specific instructions on how to protect myself.
Both times I had mine repaired it was 2 months on crutches non-weight bearing, and then 4 months of restrictions and rehab. He has far, far better access and resources than I did so I'm sure it's going to be much shorter.
It's also possible that he may have opted for a meniscectomy at this point if he's had multiple injuries to it. The recovery is much shorter but it will likely lead to arthritis and more problems in the long-term.
It depends on the exact procedure, a proper repair will likely require months but if they trim it through arthroscopy it might be along the lines of your QB.
3 weeks after meniscus surgery checking in.
I'm not Seth. I'm certainly not an athlete. That said I feel pretty damn good after less than a month.
No crutches. No cane. Still a bit of fluid and scar tissue.
Everybody is different but I wouldn't be surprised if he's at least ready to film some segments or cut some promos in 4 weeks.
Ron attest once missed 9 days with the same surgery.
Seth will probably take like 6 weeks, start cutting promos and come back. Wrestle in like 2 months
How would you know? We don’t know what kind of surgery Seth got, or what his rehab will amount to. I’m not saying Dave’s timetable is correct, but to confidently declare “he’ll be gone for several months at the very least” without any information (beyond that he had surgery) is ludicrous.
My old boss had the same thing we work at a grocery store. She was gone for a number of months, came back too early worked too hard and favored her other leg and tore that one. I know it's different circumstances and my old boss was not built like a wrestler but it's nothing to mess with and come back too early for.
I think you’re forgetting the way WWE works now. They’re thinking long term; not short term.
Extending wrestlers’ careers a few years by giving them extended breaks not only helps you long term but gives you ready-made massive moments when they do return after time away.
There’s no need to push a Rollins or Reigns return before Summerslam at the earliest because they’re both made men and instant main eventers whenever you want them back … but the top of the card doesn’t NEED them right now.
I’m not sure why you think the only thing wrong with Rollins is his knee. The dude has been beat up for years.
This is the perfect time to give him a nice extended break to heal up and refresh his character before a shocking return down the line rejuvenates the main roster.
I just feel like you gotta strike while the iron is hot and Seth is finally starting to get over. You don’t want people to forget about him when he’s gone for 9 months.
Finally starting to get over??? Really? He's been over for years. Even in his downside of late 2019/ early 2020, crowds ( except for the super smarky crowds) were still very much in his side. No one is going to forget him
For reference, Joel Embiid had surgery on his meniscus in February and came back about two months later. He’s still gimping up and down the court. IDK what the Sixers are thinking.
With WWE as hot as they are, it would probably be smart to let Seth take all the time he needs to be 100% healthy.
Getting your meniscus repaired often just means cleaning out pieces that are causing pain and injecting some steroids
I had it done and was back to playing in two months and I'm a fat overweight dude.
A month seems more than reasonable
Considering how hobble-rific he was after the night 2 main event, Seth must've gutted it out hardcore all weekend to appear mostly mobile like he did.
It's almost a shame he couldn't 'pull a Cody' and have some obvious injury visual he could show off in the ring so everyone knew what a tough fucker he was being.
Shit knowing he was legit injured, I wouldn't have been mad if Drew pinned him after that first claymore.
Just build up the knee injury so that makes what he did in night 2 that much more heroic
Hope he gets a good break, god knows he deserves it.
On a side note, I'm glad Becky's interview went well, considering Tommy Tiernan was so disrespectful towards her and wrestling in general in her last interview on Irish TV
The absolute MVP of WrestleMania. Wishing him the best with his recovery which I hope he takes his time on and doesn’t rush back so soon. He deserves a well rested break.
100%. Dude busted his ass, worked for who knows how long through that injury, and carried Raw for a year. Seth deserves as long of a break as he wants.
First late late Ive watched in I don't know how long, she came across really well. She really doesn't get the reaction in Ireland compared to her star power but hopefully it's not her last time on.
Not a doctor, but the general idea is that it takes 3 to 6 months to return to playing sports following a meniscus surgery. Everyone heals different, but we’re likely look at Seth being gone until Summerslam at best or around survivor series as the worst.
No it doesn’t. In the nba, the meniscus is usually a 4-6 week injury. Karl Anthony towns tore his at the start of March and has been back for about a week.
I wonder if they're actually ok, or if they're just accepting moderate knee pain for the rest of their careers, and then severe pain afterward. I mean, I messed up my meniscus years ago and it still gives me trouble.
They have significant medical help and money so injuries don’t affect them as much. Towns, for instance, had surgery and is already back. Kevin Durant tore his Achilles and looks largely unaffected.
KAT had surgery to remove a piece of his meniscus. The trade off to the quick recovery time is being more susceptible to long term pain/arthritis or full blown cartilage loss
A good example of the latter would be Brandon Roy.
Klay Thompson also never quite recovered from his Achilles tear.
As with anything, it’s a mixed bag because every injury is different. An example of someone that didn’t opt for the quicker recovery time would be someone like Kawhi (obviously - he can’t risk it). Ended up missing the year
Depends on the exact type of tear. Direction of the tear matters. It's not like an ACL, where we know the recovery time is ~6 months (for the replacement to fully reattach) + however long it takes you to get the knee back to full strength.
For all the dummies saying he looked like a geek getting taken out by Roman I hope they eat their words. The guy had no business being out there and still had the most impactful appearance.
Good choice in finally getting the knee surgery since he couldn't just only rehab it forever. But he got 2 huge WM matches out of the situation but now after WM is over with its best to get the surgery out of the way. He should be able to be back by SummerSlam since I dont think the MCL is as serious as the ACL.
For my entire first year back as a wrestling fan, I was so under on Seth Rollins. He was my least favorite main player act for a very long time.
After WM, and knowing the backstory now, that return is gonna hit like fucking crack.
My wife has had this surgery 3 times!
He should probably only be out about 2 months, maybe 3 months, as she returned to her light duty job after only 3 weeks or so.
Dude deserves as much time off to rehab as he needs, to an extent the longer he’s off the better he’ll be when he comes back and the bigger the pop will be
My prediction is he'll appear at Backlash in France for an in-ring interview segment to probably set up and angle and give the French a chance to SING HIS SONG, but won't get physical.

And here I thought Seth was just really good at selling his knee at the end of Night 2. Seth Rollins was truly the MVP of Wrestlemania 40.
He’s so good at selling that he’s getting surgery to maintain kayfabe
So, like Ben Simmons and his back surgery?
Lmfaoooo this is honestly how it seems from the outside looking in
Kayfabe above everything
Seth was straight up ballin.
You can see fancam from the match that Seth was struggling big time just to get into the ring for the spot
I was dead certain he wasn't selling because he was acting really weird. The immediate yeet when he got in the ring was already odd but sitting down the entire celebration was odd.
He was in tears and couldn’t get into the ring- so I too figured it was serious
I mean it probably didn't hurt as bad as he was selling, but I imagine selling is a hell of a lot easier when you have actual pain to work off of.
In some of the footage online he was clearly trying not to cry when Owen’s had to help him up
Broke: Getting wrestling news from dirtsheets Woke: Getting wrestling news from talk shows on RTÉ

Ahhh Jaysus, it's terrible when the Mox does be doing the blading. Awful Joe. Shocking.

What a fucking trooper. 🤘
Rock called Seth Rollins the MVP of Wrestlemania
I will never tolerate any seth slander, his gimmick maybe annoying at times but that dude gives his fucking all for WWE and really sacrifices himself. Even in story, he gave everything to help cody finally win it all, the true MVP of WM40

Wrestlemania MVP. Hopefully he makes a full recovery
WWE MVP
I'M COMIN'
One two you hear the clock ticking
NOBODY TO STOP ME
For fucking sure. The optimist in me would love to see a beaten Roman hit rock bottom (damn, good one) for a few months and Seth be the one to have his back.
No, I’d want seth to torment him at that point, turning Roman into the Tribal Lunatic
No, the Tribal Lunatic is when Roman and Dean Ambrose use the Potara Earrings.
The good news is that meniscus surgery USUALLY aren't that severe.
His magnus opus was Wrestlemania 40 and he achieved that without winning a damn thing. That was extremely rare celestial event.
I see him going over Punk if Punk is champ by Mania
WWE's Jerry West
Let the dude rest for several months so he can be back relatively healthy. It's not just his knee that was a problem, his back probably needs some time away from bumps as well.
Meltzer said he’d be gone for a month. No way in hell he’s back in a month after knee surgery. He’ll be gone for several months at the very least.
If you get your meniscus repaired you're probably looking at a month on crutches, never mind the extra few months recovery on top of that.
He might get it repaired, or they might choose to remove part of it instead. If they do that, he’ll be walking crutch free in a couple of days and the recovery time won’t be as bad

It’s amazing how far soft tissue surgery has advanced in the last few decades. Tearing ligaments in your knee used to be a career killer for athletes
A fairly recent movie that has not aged well at all is THE PROGRAM. Mid-90s movie about a salacious college football program. NIL killed the main plot of the movie, advances in sports medicine killed the subplot about Alvin Mack.
31 years old is hardly fairly recent
Well, they've been making movies for nearly 140 years. In that context, it's recent.
Roman isn't the only one with a place at the table
medical science and technology is a always evolving subject, hell, that scene from the sitcom Scrubs is very true, when one of the doctors tells his old friend ''hell, nowadays, if your out of med school for more than two years...half of what you learned is obsolete'' doctors and surgeons are constantly having to keep up throughout their entire careers because someone discovered something new and what they had already learned is now effectively either debunked or considered obsolete or too dangerous compared to the new style
I remember my buddy having a complete MCL tear 20 years ago and being off his feet for months. He spent the last month of his junior year on one of those leg scooters.
Tell him good luck from the marks, brother!
I think he would be ready to come back right before or after King & Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia.
True, but your dad probably wont put the stresses that a wrestling lifestyle might put on it
I agree with that, I was just pointing out that someone older and way more out of shape, with his only exercise being very minor minor, still has a pretty quick recovery time
How would removal affect him going forward? Sorry if this isn’t a question I should be asking on Reddit.
Removal is often \*not\* what is recommended these days because of the long term effects it'll have on your enjoyment of a pain free life. Yeah I was thinking removal was what DWade had but I wasn’t sure.
I hope he gets it repaired then instead of doing something to rush back. He’s been on TV a ton lately so if he was gone for six months or so he’d come back really fresh.

Not necessarily. When I was a sophomore in college our starting QB got meniscus surgery and he was only out 4 weeks
It depends on the exact procedure, a proper repair will likely require months but if they trim it through arthroscopy it might be along the lines of your QB.
TBF he is the architect he probably reconstructed his knee so perfect rehab is a snap. See ya in a month Seth
NBA players normally come back from meniscus tears in 6 weeks so it really just depends what Seth wants to do
And I would imagine basketball is the worst sport you could play after having a knee surgery like that with all of the running and jumping required.
Your meniscus is surprisingly versatile, Karl Anthony Towns just came back from a meniscus surgery in less than a month in the NBA
All depends on the exact tear. Sideways vs straight meniscus tears are different. My tear was a "good" tear. Seth's could be different.
Ron attest once missed 9 days with the same surgery. Seth will probably take like 6 weeks, start cutting promos and come back. Wrestle in like 2 months

Maybe back for promos and such, but in ring, yeah.
No way Seth is back for just promos. His emotion at Mania suggested he knew he’d be gone for a while.
Yeah, that's why I prefaced it with a maybe.
Meltzer thinks the Rock HHH promo from 2015 was filmed in 2024 lmao. The guy is losing it.
Getting your meniscus repaired often just means cleaning out pieces that are causing pain and injecting some steroids I had it done and was back to playing in two months and I'm a fat overweight dude. A month seems more than reasonable
Meltzer is an idiot and everyone needs to ignore him
This explains why his match with Drew was satisfying, but short.

Kielty was never gonna be disrespectful. He's a sound lad.
Paddy is the best.
That Tommy Tiernan interview was awful.... he was diminishing everything about her but she handled it very very well
Tommy tiernan is a wagon. He's rude to lots of guests on his show.
And on the road to Mania, he was cutting all-timer promos on a near-weekly basis.
He held his own against **The Rock** and did a lot of heavy-lifting for that whole feud alongside Cody against Rock and Roman.
First late late Ive watched in I don't know how long, she came across really well. She really doesn't get the reaction in Ireland compared to her star power but hopefully it's not her last time on.
Tore his meniscus BEFORE Wrestlemania? Holy shit
He tore it before the Rumble.
Insane... How could he even walk
He tore it in the match with Jinder
🫡
The pop for his return at a WarGames or Royal Rumble will be generational
Not a doctor, but the general idea is that it takes 3 to 6 months to return to playing sports following a meniscus surgery. Everyone heals different, but we’re likely look at Seth being gone until Summerslam at best or around survivor series as the worst.
No it doesn’t. In the nba, the meniscus is usually a 4-6 week injury. Karl Anthony towns tore his at the start of March and has been back for about a week.

KAT had surgery to remove a piece of his meniscus. The trade off to the quick recovery time is being more susceptible to long term pain/arthritis or full blown cartilage loss A good example of the latter would be Brandon Roy.
Hope he recovers quickly
The fact he was still in a headlining match with an injury like that is wild, love you Seth
For all the dummies saying he looked like a geek getting taken out by Roman I hope they eat their words. The guy had no business being out there and still had the most impactful appearance.
After carrying Raw on his back for months, he really deserve a long time off.
Rest up, Seth and thank you for pushing through it to entertain us and help make WrestleMania as much fun as it was!
He's gonna get a never heard before return pop, we miss you already champ.
In my mind, I just picture than putting Seth Rollins until one of those healing tanks from Star Wars after mania.
Good to see him take care of his body after that incredible run.
Man, dude is honestly WWE mvp these days. Hope he comes back stronger than before. Gonna be a hell of a return. PS: bring back Monday night Rollins
If he's gone for 3 or 4 months, his return is going to blow the lid off the building, where ever it might be.
Let him return at SS or the Rumble. The pop would be legen-wait for it-dary
A return at the Rumble would be amazing but that’s too far away
Summerslam Seth🤑🤑
Royal Rumble 2025 would be amazing but that’s waaay too far away
For my entire first year back as a wrestling fan, I was so under on Seth Rollins. He was my least favorite main player act for a very long time. After WM, and knowing the backstory now, that return is gonna hit like fucking crack.
Seth's knees are kept together by lint and toothpicks at this point.
My wife has had this surgery 3 times! He should probably only be out about 2 months, maybe 3 months, as she returned to her light duty job after only 3 weeks or so.
My captain. My king.
MVP of the WWE for the last decade. The dude is STILL underappreciated. Absolute living legend.
Justice for Tubs
The *SURGICALLY REPAIRED KNEE (x2)* of Seth Rollins
Yeah I don’t think he’s coming back in 5 weeks
Where are all your knowledgable dirt sheets? They know fuck all.
Seth (and Roman) have both made Cody.
I hope he gets plenty of rest and has a healthy recovery. A well deserved, well earned break
Get me to Punk vs. Rollins Main Event sat night. Fuck the Rock, Cody, everyone else.

THE KNEE! Speedy recovery!
So no back surgery? Wasn’t that the issue he has has had for years?
I swear to any god you are believing in, if the live crowd ever boo this man when he makes his in-ring return, I might start hating the sport.
I fucking love Seth Rollins
The workhorse of the WWE
