There are some great capital ship models (Super Star Destroyer, Tantive IV, Invisible Hand) around that price point. The TIE Bomber is also good. What movies or characters does he like most?

Level-Insurance4801

I dont know ☹ I dont wanna ask him because I dont want him to have a clue

JA155

Just watch a movie with him and if he talks about something more than the others then you have your answer. Gotta be sneaky with it.

Equivalent_Form_3923

This👆 Bonding experience *and* present espionage wrapped into one package.

Nerdy-Dogguy-87

Does he have a particular favorite character or ship. That would help nail down a perfect set.

Level-Insurance4801

I dont think so, he likes star wars in general

djdcastro

The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter is fun one around that price point.

I am willing to take a part time job just to buy him lego sets, I think im pretty ready😚

Level-Insurance4801

maybe i'll have to rethink this gift...

MstrRob1972

Or you buy him the ones you can afford and he’ll be happy with them. My family just got me the Yoda set ( a bit more than the budget you set) but I would not be sad if I didn’t get 1000 set. Follow your heart and he will love it!

LH115

I'd say one of the helmets would be a safe bet! They're not too big, not too expensive, and hard to mistake them for anything else! Of course I'm looking at UK Prices, but I imagine even with the currency change that it should still be within budget!

Level-Insurance4801

I contemplated on the helmets, but I worry that it is not playable compared to other legos, what do you think? And which helmet would be the best purchase?

ClockworkDivine

Would he be actually playing with them or just building and displaying it?

Level-Insurance4801

i think he would most probably display it instead of playing it

redwurfle

My girlfriend also isn't into Star Wars but she surprised me recently with the Vader helmet, which I absolutely loved. I'd say Vader is a safe bet? I also don't really build Legos but it's one of the coolest gifts I've ever gotten, very much looking forward to building it.

Level-Insurance4801

Among these three which do you think would you like the best, the Vader helmet or Executor Super Star destroyer?

redwurfle

That's a hard one because the Super Star Destroyer is really cool. I think in terms of displaying I would prefer the Super Star Destroyer. I also do love model ships. You're an awesome partner! I am sure whichever one you choose he will love and appreciate.

Level-Insurance4801

hello! im about to buy it in 3 days now im contemplating on the Midi Millenium Falcon 75375 or ESS destroyer 75356?

redwurfle

Hi! Sorry, but if you haven't yet, I'd say it's hard to go wrong wit the Millenium Falcon, it's a classic, and would be my preference if I were to choose one.

Level-Insurance4801

god the millenium falcon just ran out of stock in my local store 🥹 what about 75376 Tantive IV or ESS Destroyer?

AlexSwolo

Sets with Vader are always a safe choice, he's just the best. The tie bomber 75347 is awesome, great ship, Vader, Solane and a pilot. Besides, it comes with a Gonk Droid, those are a funny and cute. If he's more a clone wars / prequels guy, I could guess he would like the obi wan jedi starfighter 75333 The safest bet i would say is 75387, but is not out yet. Vader, stormtroopers, rebelds and one special clone minifigure (fives). If his birthday is after the release of that set, I would go with that. If not, any set Is a good set hehe

Level-Insurance4801

What about the Vader helmet? Do you think he'll love it?

AlexSwolo

I guess is the best helmet if you are not sure which one he'll like the most. But idk if helmets are for everyone. Personally, I like playsets and dioramas, other people like mini scale ships, helmets, make armys or battles, UCS, etc. It depends, but as I say, those are all great gifts, and you are making it with good intention and love. You can't go wrong.

RedEclipse47

Maybe one of the Diorama sets? Like 75353, they are fun to build and a great display piece!

Level-Insurance4801

Will Diorama sets be better or would you prefer the Executor Super Star Destroyer or the Darth Vader helmet?

RedEclipse47

Executor Super Star Destroyer is really nice, i have that one myself! It's fun to build and looks cool so thatchecks all the boxes for me. I think going with the Executor Super Star Destroyer or the diorama set it the safest bet, the helmets are really cool too but there are people who don't like them and find them goofy looking.

DrHELLvetica

First, I wanted to say, you seem like a great partner and your person is lucky to have you. Next, if you're willing to spend a little more lego recently came out with some really beautiful midsized sets. The R2 and Falcon are safe because if you like SW, it's hard to dislike either. These sets are also great for collectors because of the special branding for the 25th anniversary of lego star wars R2: [https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/r2-d2-75379](https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/r2-d2-75379) Millennium Falcon: [https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/millennium-falcon-75375](https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/millennium-falcon-75375)

Level-Insurance4801

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! We're celebrating our birthdays together and he's just been the sweetes for the past year so I feel this is the leaset I could do. Sadly the R2 is wayy out of my budget, I did contemplate on the millenium falcon. If u had to choose between the Millenium Falcon and Executor Super Star Destroyer, which do you prefer?

shakraaan

Look for Mould King Star Wars Models on e.g. Amazon. They dont have a license (so not officially Star Wars ;)) but you get waaaay more for your money than with overpriced Lego. Mould Kings quality is also very good and often superior to Lego, so you are not buying crap. You can get a really big Tantive IV for 80-100 bucks, but probably your best choice would be the smaller Venator Star Destroyer (they also have a big one). Quite big, looks really impressive and costs 70 bucks. (And he wont care about the license if its double the size than the Lego one ;)) Enjoy!

Level-Insurance4801

Thank you!!

DARTHKINDNESS

My wife bought me the Grogu one. It was pretty fun.

Flat_Scheme4874

A Lego X wing is always a safe bet for us Star Wars fans, everyone loves the X wing, also your an awesome girlfriend for doing this for him!

Level-Insurance4801

Most of the X wings are sadly out of my budget right now,but thank you for the idea, I'll be sure to get him an X wing for his next gift!!

Flat_Scheme4874

👍

Zorowak

For a second there I thought I'd stumbled upon my girlfriends secret Reddit account

Level-Insurance4801

😳😳

TheStonedEngineer420

Every Lego set is starter friendly. Even the really big ones for like 800$. Lego instructions have become stupidly easy. Like every step only a single piece gets added. Add to this that every set is divided into many, many numbered bags that you open one after the other and even someone completely and utterly braindead can build even the biggest sets Lego has to offer.

Whole-Flow-8190

Xwing or Tantive

Level-Insurance4801

Sadly both are pretty out of my budget

Whole-Flow-8190

Target has The Mandalorian N-1 and Boba’s ship in your price range. For adult the Invisible Hand from Revenge of the Sith coming out March 1 is also in your range. The Hand is also available directly on Lego.com

Level-Insurance4801

The invisible hand does look interesting, thank you!!

Whole-Flow-8190

He will have something brand new that’s just coming out. Hope he likes whatever you get him.

Content-Profession-6

Cant go wrong with a Millennium Falcon, but they are expensive

DelayedChoice

The midiscale one is close to the price range (but still over and still overpriced).

Level-Insurance4801

which would be the best medium sized? because i see there are many versions of millenium falcon

Content-Profession-6

I have item #75257 and i like it, i just did a quick look and it might be the best deal at the moment if you get him the falcon

austinstar08

636354

Level-Insurance4801

Do you have a picture? I cant find it somehow

austinstar08

I just typed in random numbers and hoped it was a Lego set

oChuppah

Try to find out what his favourite era is, og trilogy, clone wars, mandolorian etc, will give you a good baseline of where to look

Level-Insurance4801

I want it to be a surprise 😭😭😭 if I ask im afraid he'll get the idea

oChuppah

Well if thats the case, i can recommend the tie bomber, it comes with darth vader mini fig which is always a plus, the AT-ST is another fun build

skitzbuckethatz

I second the AT-ST

xMcSwaggx

#75192 😁😁

hopseankins

Does he like legos? Does he like Star Wars? How long have you been together?

Level-Insurance4801

11 months in! he loves star wars and he qlways tells me he dreams to buy his own lego star wars set

hopseankins

Next time you are in a big box store (target, Walmart, or whatever you have) just happen to wander by the toy section and happen to check out the legos. See if there is anything that catches his eye

Level-Insurance4801

will do!! that is probably less obvious compared to asking him questions about what he likes

hopseankins

Subtlety and observation are great ways to come up with gift ideas. Also, ask him about Star Wars in general (since you said you don’t know much). That way you can glean what his preference may be. And it will show that you have an interest in his interest. May the force be with you!

Level-Insurance4801

thank u for the tips!!🤍

Jdenver2000

Get him an x wing or a millennium falcon.

Level-Insurance4801

what do think about the executor super star destroyer?

Jdenver2000

That looks cool too!

-Ghundi-

most important tipp is to not buy lego from lego. take a look at mould king, xingbao and others. better quality and a lot better value

Borghal

Idk what the other people are on about, the obvious answer is the 73501 X-Wing. Fits the budget at around €55 and it doesn't get more iconic than that (well, there's the Falcon, but that's not in the budget).

rynmab

Wait the fact that u r buying and supporting his love of lego is enough. I think at a certain point, he should just learn to build his own designs… hmmmn maybe that should be it. See if there is a book that teaches diy lego. So yeah I guess there is a whole community out there with different instructions and such. Well I guess I know what I will be doing. I’m adding a couple of the cool websites I just googled. badcatbricks.com brickhub.org thebrickland.com
