just start fishing in the ocean daytime during spring and you'll get easier fish. the river and mountain lake are great for profits but the fish are a lot harder
Buy the 25$ practice/training rod and use it until level 4 or 5. Then buy the 1800 or so rod and equip lots of bait. Easy to attract lots of fish.
A few are still crazy hard? You’re just not meant to catch it until a higher fishing level. It’s not you that just sucks.
The trout soup is always a helper cuz it’s cheap and available and is a boost one to your skill giving you just a bit bigger of a green bar
As others have said practice! I am a spammer clicker, I rarely hold the click, by spamming you don’t shoot the bar up so fast, which is the fish turns back down your now like trying to catch a ball in the air as it comes down.
Don’t get discouraged, there is a training rod if you really haven’t gone down the rabbit hole yet. It helps but has a ceiling so once you feel confident you can get back to the bigger rod.
You will find fish you will struggle with, don’t worry if they get away. Once you unlock the iridium rod and use a trap bobber you can laugh in those fishes face as you catch them.
Also and most importantly: have fun!
Practice. I find the town fish easiest so stay there for the first couple of levels. Then just go wherever you feel you can get more perfects. Then go for $
Don't use the first rod Willy gives to. Spend the gold for the training rod. The green bar is bigger on the training one. It makes skill development SOO much easier.
I’m mid summer y1 on my 1.6 save, everythinng is 4 or 5, cept fishing which is 9.
Should have done riverlands for the smoker but I wanted to see the bluegrass!
I loved it only after I grinded and forced myself to be good, I remember actually enjoying it. I then took a break from the game for like 3 years. When I started playing again I was back to square one "FUCK fishing."
I didn't even try. I literally found all the fish for the community center in trash cans, or I purchased them over time from the traveling cart. Took me forever to complete the community center. No regrets.
I was about to say that too! At my first time playing the first skill I mastered was fishing, and I spent hours just fishing cus it was fun and profitable early game
Meanwhile.me catchin 20 gold quality Legend ll's in 1 day:
>!I really need a bigger challlange, do you guys got any mods that majorly update fishing? Like another legendary fishes or smthn, already played expanded!<
No, not 20, 20 in 1 day in all 3 days I caught 50, my strategy is:(1.6 spoilers) >!bait maker for legend ll bait, and quality bobber+trap bobber on preserving advanced iridium rod, of course I smoke the legend lls afterwards my proffesions are artisan+angler!<
After doing that you should be able to make a million in 3 days from just fishing (also if you're not the best at fishing make sure to get some buffs since it's just as "hard" as catching a legend with trap bobber 50 times over)
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3623
despite the name, it has a butt ton of settings to make the fishing game harder. there’s even >!a nightmare mode!<
Fishing is really easy (after like 2 days of grinding) and can make you soooo much money. It can pretty much fund all your year 1 needs before you are making good crop money.
Yeah it's kind of insane how much of a jump in income the first fishing rod upgrade is *and* you can just buy it outright instead of having to wait for it, so there's no downtime.
I think my record is getting iridium-quality fish within a week and a half of receiving the first rod, though it was on a multi-player file so I could afford to just fish 24/7.
I just grind to 6 fishing and buy the iridium rod with all the fish I sold. Also means I don’t waste money on giving good quality fish to the CC or buying an inferior rod.
I play co op with my husband and this is basically how our early game goes. We get our crops going and then he sends me to fish, while I send him to the mines for materials. It works out beautifully for us, and our early game is smooth sailing.
Idk if fishing is my favorite part of Stardew BUT Stardew definitely has my favorite fishing of any videogame - much more strategy to it than the essentially quick-time event that Pokemon or Animal Crossing has.
Easiest way is to see them all working together to comment on each others (stolen) posts. Sometimes they use chatgpt or change words, but you can tell.
I'm so bad at it. My hand coordination is terrible. Like I try so hard but fail so bad. The highest I've got is level 6 and one of my playthroughs is on year 3
suuuper same. the regular mines were tolerable, but it took me at least a year after unlocking the SC to regularly go inside. now i only go there when necessary. the SC adds pretty stressful combat on top of already tedious mining.
bombs, traded staircases, and defense and/or speed buffs are the only reason i finished that 100 levels quest.
I don't know why people hate fishing, but I accept maybe my autism instincts kick in and I just see through the matrix so I get gold (almost) every time
I'm on my first playthrough and I chose a river farm because it sounded fun. My first time fishing, I deeply regretted that decision. Now I'm almost 2 years in, level 10, iridium rod, deluxe bait sprouting out my ears, and it's actually pretty fun now that I've gotten used to it.
Stardew has a better fishing mini game than most. I actually find it enjoyable. Meanwhile, if I need a specific fish in Terraria, I stop and think about whether if I REALLY need it.
Fishing is one of the best ways to make money early game, plus it's an interesting minigame you can practice at and get better. Not only that, you have the chance to get some really nice treasure out of it as well! Why more people don't fish is beyond me.
It's honestly one of the few things I do consistently in the game. I'm terrible at combat and stuff and farming takes ages. So I just like fishing when I have the time
Me: "Oh boy! I love aquaculture and want to collect all the fish!"
Also Me: *installs mods so that fishing is easier for me*
No fault to stardew, I just dont like the minigame
I do t particularly love or hate fishing but I do find it essential for early game money. While your waiting for those first couple crops to come in it can be a pretty decent early game revenue source. For better or worse the profits tend to drop off pretty quick compared to crops and artisanal goods though
Fishing is the best! I’m really good at it so maybe I am biased but sometimes that is all I will do for a day (late game obviously as I have less I need to do)
I never play by myself I always play at least duo. In the early game, I am always the fisher to get money to upgrade everything. I have come to find a deep rooted love for fishing
I honestly hated it at first but once I got the hang of it, it's honestly one of my favorite things to do in the game, especially if I need quick cash.
Fishing is the best part of the game, the only part I don’t like so much about it is that it’s super hard early game but the more you fish, the easier it gets which doesn’t make sense at all. And honestly I feel like most people hate all fishing just because of the early game “hard” part of fishing even though it’s super fun
Im always super excited to play stardew, start a farm, catch the legendary fish, get fishing up to 10, and then get bored because I realize I dont actually like stardew, I just like the fishing
fishing is always the first thing i reach lvl 10 on. first community center bundle i finish. early game, i fish from dawn to bed time to get money. i crave fish. i yearn for the waters.
I wish the fishing bundle reward was worth anything. I finished it in spring year 2 and now I am in summer year 4 and I have seen maybe 4 panning spots in my life.
I tried fishing on my table and had to buy the training rod because my fingers cannot keep up. How am I supposed to level up fishing to get crab pots?😭
I always start with a small farm and try to get my fishing to 10 before strawberries. Sell the fish, buy the strawberries, start the wine as soon as possible :D
I truly don’t get how you can hate the fishing minigame. Sure maybe you find it hard but isn’t beating that challenge fun? Like that’s the entire point of a whole genre of games
I find it to be one of the easiest bundle sets to complete actually, even tho I do tend to neglect it lol. All you gotta do is spend a few days just fishing and make sure to remember to go fish on a rainy day. I can get all the fish needed from the current season in like a week.
I don't hate the fishing, that on its own is fine. What I hate is that to get the fishing bundle you need specific fish from specific times of day and year that are only found in specific spots, and some are rarer than others.
When we play on Switch my husband does the fishing. He loves the minigame.
I mod for auto catch and only fish when I have to. Like when we are trying to get the fish from the submarine.
Junimo cart. I love it. Before the update a few years ago, I got to the point with it where I could play the entire thing through basically every time.
You guys are missing out. Fishing is the most fun part of the game. I used to love farming too until I found out how fun Fishing is. The excitement and challenge of catching a legendary or a rare fish is just amazing!
I wish Fishing wasn't just a early Game thing. SVE adds some nice hard fish, but I wish there were more really hard ones. The original Legendary Fish are way too easy. The King Salomon was super hard, but they nerfed it.
I hate fishing so much that I make it the first thing I max out because it makes a ton of money, and if I finish the community center bundles that require it and save the ones I need for the movie theatre I won't ever need to fish again. 100% completion ez if you get all the stuff you hate out of the way first
Hitting level 10 fishing is the first major accomplishment I do in every single run. Have down time in a day, fish. Need to make a quick buck for poorly planned budgeting, fish. Rainy day pre sprinklers, fish.
I feel like there are two kinds of people that don't enjoy fishing
PC players (I played on pc originally and hated it)
And people who played sonic adventure 1 as a child and were scarred for eternity
That fucking frog
So fun story, I play on mobile and my first playthrough I genuinely couldn't understand fishing for years in game. I filled the community center aquarium nearly exclusively through buying them. I would check the traveling cart constantly for the rarer ones.
Then on my newer playthrough, I finally understood to click during the exclamation point to trigger the mini game lol. Now fishing is one of favorite things and I've got the main five legendary fish.
Fishing in stardew is amazing and I will die on this hill.
I have been obsessed with fishing mini games my entire life (funnily enough only started irl fishing a few years ago). Nothing I’ve played simulates the feeling of the fight like stardew other than explicit fishing video games.
While I still enjoy systems like animal crossing that are about finding the right spot and time, I want to feel like I’m battling the fish to keep them on the line and bring them ashore.
In my mind it is the absolute perfect representation for a relatively casual fishing mini game.
I only play Stardew with a specific group, and we all do different things. I like fishing, so I fish. I only fish. I play Stardew Valley and all I do is fish and give Elliot lobsters all day and I love it
[удалено]
It’s one of the only fishing mini games I enjoy in my experience
after playing the generic waiting game like in terarria and hades it really is the most engaging version of it
The only thing that makes fishing in Terraria kinda cool is being able to fish up loot like in SDV
Please tell me your secret 🥲
Get past level 4, you’ll have a much easier time, especially with practice.
Also, better bait helps. It can expand the green bar by a little bit. There are also some bobbers with perks to help as well.
bobbers not unlocked until level six
Dang. Even still! It gets easier over time, and there are outside variables that can help.
just start fishing in the ocean daytime during spring and you'll get easier fish. the river and mountain lake are great for profits but the fish are a lot harder
Yes, this too 100%. I forget the training rod exists sometimes lol.
The trout soup is always a helper cuz it’s cheap and available and is a boost one to your skill giving you just a bit bigger of a green bar As others have said practice! deluxe bait too (1.6 feature if you dont have it). it makes the fishing bar even bigger
Don't use the first rod Willy gives to. Spend the gold for the training rod. The green bar is bigger on the training one. It makes skill development SOO much easier.
after playing the generic waiting game like in terarria and hades it really is the most engaging version of it
I'm terrible at it but honestly, once the training rod was introduced, I started to enjoy it a lot.
Me too! I didn’t like the Harvest Moon one, I don’t like the Skyrim (extended) one, but I love the Stardew Valley one!
ff15 fishing minigame is amazing. i have hundreds of hours in the game and 90% of it is fishing. i only play the story to get to new fishing spots....
Same, both challenging and relaxing.
Fishing gang!! It’s always the first skill I max.
I’m mid summer y1 on my 1.6 save, everythinng is 4 or 5, cept fishing which is 9. Should have done riverlands for the smoker but I wanted to see the bluegrass!
The smoker and bait maker combo is ridiculous in single player. Banging out like 20k gold per day in early spring is wild.
Me too! I don’t get why people hate it
Same! It’s so chill! I can just hyper focus and catch all the fish!
YES!!!
**M**AN **I L**OVE **F**ISHING
honestly my favorite interpretation of fishing in a video game
the OP Financial-Anxiety4 No_Anybody3751 Gloomy_Confidence861 and Holiday-Ease1029 are bots in the same network
Ur right wtf
Same
Me too, I used to suck at fishing, but now it's my first skill
I loved it only after I grinded and forced myself to be good, I remember actually enjoying it. I then took a break from the game for like 3 years. It’s not bad it’s mostly rhythm and if you can’t get the fish you don’t have a good level
ME TOO
Me too 🎣
I was about to say that too! At my first time playing the first skill I mastered was fishing, and I spent hours just fishing cus it was fun and profitable early game
meanwhile, me fishing up 40 lava eels every day just to get 10,000,000
I like fishing tho (When I’m not trying to fish for the fish equivalent of god himself)
Meanwhile.me catchin 20 gold quality Legend ll's in 1 day: >!I really need a bigger challlange, do you guys got any mods that majorly update fishing? Like another legendary fishes or smthn, already played expanded!<
Ridgeside has 3 or 4 legendaries i think
I thought you couldn’t hook legendary fishes again once you catch them for the first time?
>!there’s a qi quest that allows you to catch the legendary fish again. it takes 3 days to complete, so you have 3 days to catch as many as you want!<
I thought it was just one of them again,,, you're telling me this guy caught 20 What the fuck
No, not 20, 20 in 1 day in all 3 days I caught 50, my strategy is:(1.6 spoilers) >!bait maker for legend ll bait, and quality bobber+trap bobber on preserving advanced iridium rod, of course I smoke the legend lls afterwards my proffesions are artisan+angler!< After doing that you should be able to make a million in 3 days from just fishing (also if you're not the best at fishing make sure to get some buffs since it's just as "hard" as catching a legend with trap bobber 50 times over)

Am I the only heathen that doesn't really chop or mine year 1? I fish and buy/upgrade
Community center but it's only fishing
thatd honestly probably be easier for me than some of the other bundles 😭
The friendship bundles on the bullitin board
And I'm going Joja route.
Joja route but you can only use fish money
Thanks, I hate it
Fish ponds, casks, and dehydrators. Sounds like hell of a run.
Sign me up! I love fishing in games.
But but… I like the fishing lmaoo
Idk if fishing is my favorite part of Stardew BUT Stardew definitely has my favorite fishing of any videogame - much more strategy to it than the essentially quick-time event that Pokemon or Animal Crossing has.

Chubs. It’s always Chubs.
Carps also!
Fishing is one of the best features in the game. The mini game is so fun imo.
pls fishing is my fav 😩 i was so happy when i got a legendary fish

\*me literally not fishing because I am suck at it\*
I'm so bad at it. My hand coordination is terrible. Like I try so hard but fail so bad. The highest I've got is level 6 and one of my playthroughs is on year 3
I actually dislike the mines: the first is actually ok since you have the elevator, BUT SKULL CAVERN? Hell no
suuuper same. the regular mines were tolerable, but it took me at least a year after unlocking the SC to regularly go inside. now i only go there when necessary. the SC adds pretty stressful combat on top of already tedious mining. bombs, traded staircases, and defense and/or speed buffs are the only reason i finished that 100 levels quest.
But I love fishing
I don't know why people hate fishing, but I accept maybe my autism instincts kick in and I just see through the matrix so I get gold (almost) every time
How is farming a more acceptable answer than fishing? farming you do nothing you just set and forget, at least fishing has some gameplay
Ive never fished irl, but something about fishing in video games is just so enjoyable and addicting to me
I'm on my first playthrough and I chose a river farm because it sounded fun. My first time fishing, I deeply regretted that decision. Now I'm almost 2 years in, level 10, iridium rod, deluxe bait sprouting out my ears, and it's actually pretty fun now that I've gotten used to it.
I actually like fishing ):
Stardew has a better fishing mini game than most. I actually find it enjoyable. Meanwhile, if I need a specific fish in Terraria, I stop and think about whether if I REALLY need it.
Love fishing too, especially the first month. Great way to earn cash
I love locking in and pulling up that hard-won fish. Although I always wait until I'm level 10 before trying to get Lava Eels and the like.
My problem is the ones that are only available for like four hours on a rainy day in one season 😭
*Nervously sweats with me hitting Lvl 10 fishing consistently during Spring Y1*
I LOVE FINISHING LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE
Fishing is my favourite, though.. 😭
FISHING IS MY FAVORITE
Fishing in Stardew is amazing and I’ll die on that hill.
I love fishing its fun and you get a lot of money for it
Fishing Stan here. Your opinion is noted.
As someone who's cursed the heavens while fishing, i can say i love it too <3
I just got the More Fish mod, it's been a delight to see what I can fish up! I love fishing minigames.
I love fishing tho <3
Fishing is my favorite part
AYO WE DON’T TOLERATE FISHING HATRED IN THIS HOUSE
Fishing is one of the best ways to make money early game, plus it's an interesting minigame you can practice at and get better. Not only that, you have the chance to get some really nice treasure out of it as well! Why more people don't fish is beyond me.
what’s the hate for? fishing is a pretty fun mini game, and it’s the best money-maker early game
Fishing is the only thing I do in co-op 😂😂😂
fishing is the only part of the game that i never get tired of
Both of my bff's think fishing is the best part of the game lol They're insane, and also getting married IRL lol
It's honestly one of the few things I do consistently in the game. I'm terrible at combat and stuff and farming takes ages. So I just like fishing when I have the time
Me: "Oh boy! I love aquaculture and want to collect all the fish!" Also Me: *installs mods so that fishing is easier for me* No fault to stardew, I just dont like the minigame
[удалено]
That and the octopus. Hate that one, hardest fish in the game.
I LOVEEE FISHING
Fishing for the CC isn’t too bad until you get the master fisher bundle 😭
fishing in stardew is just one of those things you love or hate. I personally find it easy, but I know a lot of people don't.
Meanwhile me and my lv 8/9 fishing by day 12.
I love fishing in stardew. When I play online I’m the designated fisher
I do t particularly love or hate fishing but I do find it essential for early game money. While your waiting for those first couple crops to come in it can be a pretty decent early game revenue source. For better or worse the profits tend to drop off pretty quick compared to crops and artisanal goods though
Every time I start a farm I decide I'm gonna do something different as my main source of income and always end up just being a fisherman.
Fishing is the best! I’m really good at it so maybe I am biased but sometimes that is all I will do for a day (late game obviously as I have less I need to do)
Fishing is always my first skill to level 10 lol
Fishing in PALIA is worse 😅
Same lol 😆
I never play by myself I always play at least duo. In the early game, I am always the fisher to get money to upgrade everything. I have come to find a deep rooted love for fishing
I really didn’t like fishing to start with, but after some practice it’s really quite satisfying!
I honestly hated it at first but once I got the hang of it, it's honestly one of my favorite things to do in the game, especially if I need quick cash.
Fishing is what I spend 70% of my time doing in this game. It's always the first stat I get to level 10
I think you're just bad at it. Fishing is fun when you're not level one! Fishing is 99% of what I do
The mines make the game unplayable for me
Fishing is the best part of the game, the only part I don’t like so much about it is that it’s super hard early game but the more you fish, the easier it gets which doesn’t make sense at all. And honestly I feel like most people hate all fishing just because of the early game “hard” part of fishing even though it’s super fun
it truly is, tho
I love fishing and wish fish were worth more. With the time and effort that goes into it, it feels like it should have a greater financial return. 😭
Im always super excited to play stardew, start a farm, catch the legendary fish, get fishing up to 10, and then get bored because I realize I dont actually like stardew, I just like the fishing
I WAS THE 1000TH LIKE AND 100TH COMMENT!
I LIKE fishing it's FUN
fishing is always the first thing i reach lvl 10 on. first community center bundle i finish. early game, i fish from dawn to bed time to get money. i crave fish. i yearn for the waters.
I enjoy fishing but there are better parts of the game
It's not a good fishing minigame and I'll die on that hill. Has nothing to do with fishing aesthetically or functionally.
I love fishing but hate the mines.
Love fishing. It's really not that hard. It just takes practice.
Stardew Valley, Red Dead Redemption 2, FarCry 5/New Dawn/6: Having fun fishing mini games in a game that has otherwise nothing to do with fishing
ironically, that's how i feel about mining. i'm impatient enough that while fishing is fine, the mining stuff irritates me so much.
I wish the fishing bundle reward was worth anything. I finished it in spring year 2 and now I am in summer year 4 and I have seen maybe 4 panning spots in my life.
I loved fishing honestly. But only after i completed the community centre. Before it was the bane of my existence
When I started the game fishing is how I made all of my money. Fishing is great, especially when you know where and when to fish for the best catch
I love the fishing, it’s always the first skill I max out
I don't hate the fishing, that on its own is fine. What I hate is that to get the fishing bundle you need specific fish from specific times of day and year that are only found in specific spots, and some are rarer than others.
Fishing is frustrating, but I love it. It gets addicting.
Fishing is unironically the first thing I latched onto for Stardew. I still enjoy it. Its always the fist stat I max.
fishing is so difficult for me 😅
I’m fully leveled up at fishing so I don’t mind
Literally the first skill I got to 10 was fishing
Fishing is relaxing, when I get a minute I just find myself fishing.
I much prefer fishing to the mines. I suck at combat
I fucking love fishing in stardew
… y’all don’t like fishing?
Petting the doggo
Hot take: Stardew Fishing is the best fishing minigame in video games.
I hate fishing in every iteration in every video game it has been in.
When we play on Switch my husband does the fishing. He loves the minigame. I mod for auto catch and only fish when I have to. Like when we are trying to get the fish from the submarine.
Fuck you I love fishing
I actually like fishing, just can never get the timing of the fish right.
i say i don't like fishing but i actually do love it. i just wish i would catch the fish i want to catch a little more often
Tbf with the new challenge bait, getting a burst of 3 fish per catch does feel pretty satisfying
Junimo cart. I love it. Before the update a few years ago, I got to the point with it where I could play the entire thing through basically every time.
it literally never works on mobile i can never get it to i never get a hit or even get the mini game to start
You guys are missing out. Fishing is the most fun part of the game. I used to love farming too until I found out how fun Fishing is. The excitement and challenge of catching a legendary or a rare fish is just amazing!
Without trying it’s the first skill I max out ever time
I wish Fishing wasn't just a early Game thing. SVE adds some nice hard fish, but I wish there were more really hard ones. The original Legendary Fish are way too easy. The King Salomon was super hard, but they nerfed it.
i LOVE fishing, but fishing BUNDLES will be the death of me....
I do like fishing, though
You mean junior cart???
Ngl before I looked at the sub I thought this was about ffxiv lol
I… I like the fishing tho…
I love fishing mini-games in all games, they speak to my soul. Easily my favorite part of stardew valley.
I hate fishing with a passion but it's how I make most of my profits
I love fishing.. 🥺
HEATHEN!!! You have no class
I prefer fishing over the combat mechanics any day. It never feels comfortable to me
I will hit you if it means defending fishing >:(
Mines is the worst in my opinion
I like fishing
If you’re good at it fishing is defo one of the best parts
I feel like there are two kinds of people that don't enjoy fishing PC players (I played on pc originally and hated it) And people who played sonic adventure 1 as a child and were scarred for eternity That fucking frog
The android version doesn't have mods? My tablet isn't good for fishing 😮💨
Better than asking for a damn rabbit's foot...
come on the fishing is unique and fun definietly not the best though
So fun story, I play on mobile and my first playthrough I genuinely couldn't understand fishing for years in game. I filled the community center aquarium nearly exclusively through buying them. I would check the traveling cart constantly for the rarer ones. Then on my newer playthrough, I finally understood to click during the exclamation point to trigger the mini game lol. Now fishing is one of favorite things and I've got the main five legendary fish.
I love fishing in Stardew actually. It’s a great way to make money early in the game. Fishing in ACNH however. THAT is the worst.
When I play quads I do 3 things, fight, water plants, and fish.
When you’re fishing but literally catch nothing but iridium 95% of the time, it’s great.
I only play Stardew with a specific group, and we all do different things. I like fishing, so I fish. I only fish. I play Stardew Valley and all I do is fish and give Elliot lobsters all day and I love it
