Why not modify it? There's a lot from cheap to expensive and easy install to difficult installs.
Lift kit?
OOT Tune to give it more pep?
Add some ditch lights, roof rack, roof lights?
Front and rear steel bumper?
Rock rails?
Agree, upgrade suspension, to something really good 2.5 fox or better, it will make it feel like a premium truck, but reliable and with very good V6, add some tablet and amplifier if you want a modern infotainment system
Probably will cost you 3~5 k and it will be super fun to drive, regear and tune if you have more budget , this is what I am going to do with mine in a few years with my 3rd gen
Upgrade the shocks , fox 2.5" or 3.0" or even better Bilstein 8xxx , get it to the raptor level, huge difference from stock ride. I have trd pro, and it rides so much better than regular trims, I also tried trd pro in 4Runner, just amazing how much difference it makes. Not talking about lifting or anything like that, it actually can make it stiffer
Why do you want a new one? What does this one not do that a new one would?
Maybe put a new stereo in it with Car Play or Android Auto if you haven't already and pay to get it professionally detailed (over $300) and see if it scratches that itch.
Yes, for example I love RC cars but they can be expensive so if I feel the need to get one and I know I shouldn’t, I just buy an upgrade part for a current one I have and usually that does it for me.
Go get this truck professionally detailed. It makes a huge, huge difference.
If it were my truck, I’d spend on wheels. Chunkier tires, less “road” wheels look, and then maybe add tasteful light bar or something.
What about the 2024 has you excited? I'm super disappointed it only comes in a 4 cylinder. Wish you could choose either a 4 or a V6. I have a 2017 and I will drive it till the wheels fall of, especially if they don't come back with a V6 in the future.
2.5 gen is best gen and your still under 100k miles. There's not a snowballs chance in hell I'd get rid of that and get the first year of a new generation tacoma. Never buy a first year of new gen. There's no telling what quirks may come forth. Drive yours a couple more years until they got the kinks figured out of gen 4
This is the correct answer, there is always issues when a new gen comes out. Wait a few years for all those issues to be figured out and corrected. Or get a 2021-2023 and save $20k
Keep it. Much simpler truck to keep running a long time. If you are bored with it, what do you use it for? Doesn’t look like it’s don’t much off-roading with lower profile tires. 🤷
I just traded in my 3rd gen sr5 for a 2024 trd sport. Im extremely happy with it.
If you can afford the upgrade, do it. Theres no better time to trade in than now.
Get a 3rd gen (best gen)
Jk. If nothing Is wrong with it save the money and put it into more productive endeavors. Im looking at a 4th gen too but had to kick myself. Shits expensive these days, I think after I pay off my 3rd gen next year I'm good for awhile. Need to get out of this mindset that we always gotta be upgrading vehicles just because it's got the latest and greatest thing in it
Didn't we get these trucks because they're supposed to last forever? So let's give them the chance to do so
Get a new one if you can afford it, I did it and I love it, better ride, fuel economy more power, don’t over spend in a TRD version, get a Sr 5 4x4 and you should be fine, 2014 tacoma is a fine truck but is old and updated.
Different situations but kinda similar. Have a 2014 family beach truck with 65k miles. Selling it to get into the last year of the V6 4runner.
Gonna miss the truck but we basically treat it like an SUV. Its got a shell on it and the beach stuff never gets cleaned out. If we need more room I just pull the utility trailer. I can do that with the 4runner. Also my daily is a 2000 Tundra so I can do truck stuff with that.
I'd reccomend you do whatever makes you happy. Personally, I would keep the truck and if you're craving more do some mods to it. Maybe new wheels and a head unit with carplay/android auto... but nobody here can or should tell you what to do.
i have basically the same truck but rwd, i’m at 206k miles. only thing that went wrong was a spark plug went out and it costed 100$ to get the full engine serviced by a local mechanic. i am starting to hear a little rumbling, especially when i first start her up. but i have oversized tires on mine and they rub. but worth it for the look.
If I were in your situation (based on info given) I'd give it a complete detail, and spend a little money to do some upgrades to make it feel like a new car and a new driving experience.
I'm not sure what the tuning options are for that gen, but that would be high on my list. Lift kit, wheels, etc. would all make a big enough difference to scratch the itch for me.
If you really want to spend some money and really change it, get it repainted or wrapped. Bring back the spark you felt when you first bought it
I wash it weekly and have gotten it to my likening so a detail won’t enhance it any. I was in looking at the new ones and now I want one. I need to just settle with what I have.
A turbo 4-banger will "NEVER" be as reliable nor have as long a life, keep the 2014, take care of it and it will take care of you... save your hard earned cash.
I would keep it unless there is something it can't do. I upgraded to a 23 from a great running 09 but I had access cab which did not work well with my toddler, I also did not have 4wd which is not necessary but sure is nice in MN, and my old one was the 4 banger which struggled to tow my camper.
If my 09 had been your 2014 I wouldn't have upgraded. Instead just keeps and upgrade anything that was bugging me like the stereo or seat covers.
New things are nice. Problems with new things aren’t. Let a few years pass so Toyota can have the time to fix any issues that arise. I have a 3rd gen that’s paid off and no payments are really nice. Keep your 2nd gen and if you’re itching for something new, mod it with the money you’re saving vs. payments on a new 4th gen.
I have a ‘15 with 135k miles. I really want a ‘24 but my truck has been amazing. I’ve only had to maintenance it. No issues whatsoever. I’m staying loyal.
Keep that MF'er til it dies. I have a 2004 4dr TRD 4x4 and it runs like day 1. Too many careless drivers out there to buy a new vehicle nowadays. That thing will run to 300 or 400K miles if you maintain it properly. I'm at 213K miles over 20 years, hoping to get another 15-20 years.
I had thoughts on trading in my 2014 6pd AC sport. It drives so well and it’s been paid off for awhile now. But I just can’t let it go. It’s a really good truck
It’s sounds good I have a flow master series 40 just missing the cold air intake. Runs great too. I need to just settle with what I have and quit tryna keep up.
For a change of pace you could always do some stuff to it- if you wanted to feel like a different truck. Wheels tires, lift. Or do nothing. When I get bored I do a small mod.
Keep it!
I have a last production 2015 and I just hit 49,000 miles on it. I plan to drive the wheels off of it or give it to my son in 10 years when he can drive.
When I get the itch for a new truck, usually a Tundra, I upgrade my 2.5. That usually quells the urge to upgrade for a while.
I want a new Tundra. But I'm not stupid enough to buy one when my '13 taco still running perfectly and costed 3 times less than what the new Tundra costs today.
Unless your financial profile allows you to get the new taco without any burden to you... stick with your current ride.
The older the better. I have an ‘06 with 225K+ miles and I would never think of getting rid of it. If I were in your position I would sink money into mods/upgrades. Keep it.
I own two Tacos! 2009 TRD off Road 4x4 very beautiful and a beautiful 2023 also TRD off road 4x4. I’m just a girlie into Tacomas and I can solely say from the bottom of my heart I love and feel safest in my 2009!! I love so much my 2023 and it’s a beautiful white and the 2009 is dark grey with scuffs here and there but I wouldn’t ever get rid of it! I got the 2023 for leisure as my girlie truck to go shopping etc but when off roading/traveling camping etc I love my 09 and keep in mind it has 220k miles on it!!!
If you don't need a new one then at minimum don't get a loan for new one. If it's not broke and you can't pay cash for something newer, you don't need it.
I did the same problem looking at the new gen and immediately quit doing that. Just paid off my 2019 and am putting the exact car payment into investments. If I reach enough to pay cash or current truck actually dies, that's when I can get one.
3 in readylift, and some 33’s. Some new wheels would definitely make it look better cause damn are they ugly. I think that would make you into it again
You want a new one, but you likely have somewhere around 250,000-350,000 miles of reliable operation left in this one, given good routine maintenance.
You wouldn't need a new one for another 25 years at the current rate. You could be without a car payment until 2049.
Why do you want a new one again?
This is a joke right? You have the 4.0 in that thing and it has sub 100k miles on it for a 10 year old tacoma!! That's amazing. I would supercharge that thing. Not buy a new one
Let me share a couple of things that keep me from getting a new one. 1) Doing little mods here and there and once every so often a bigger mod. It makes me appreciate my truck more. 2) Not having a payment hanging over my head pretty much seals the deal on sticking with my current one.
youd be dumb to get a new one.
New wheels and tires will do wonders to the look, if thats what youre focused on. Also, spend the $$$ on getting the truck detailed professionally, itll make it feel like a whole new vehicle
It’s all fluff man. You’ve got a good looking truck. Save some cash maybe? Go buy a race car? Just swapping one truck for another that is similar and a car payment doesn’t seem like the play to me.
Honestly, it would not be a wise decision and one that you may end up tegretting
I'm still daily driving my 2008 4runner Limited that just passed 207k that I bought new.. I plan on continuing to until the 2027/2028 model year or whenever the 6th gen refresh happens or possibly a LC.
That said, I totally get where you're coming from, I came really close to buying a new 5th gen in '22. Ultimately I decided against it and we ended up getting a great deal trading in my wife's 2016 gx460 for the 2023 model.
As of now I have no regrets, but if the new turbo 4 bangers turn out to be crap I'll be kicking myself lol.
Definitely keep yours. Maybe put a little bit of that extra money you would spend on a new one and some upgrades or ET tires or something that makes you love yours even more.
Absolutely buy into the marketing campaigns! Sell old reliable for more tech! Repiability wont be great, you will lose a lot in depreciation, but you can get a nifty big payment!
They basically look like the same truck. You could have told someone that was a 2020. Most people won't know the difference. But the difference in potential payment or emptying of savings will be VERY apparent.
Nah man, keep it and ride it out for another year or two. This car market is not sustainable and is slowly building towards a crash. Could be some serious deals to be had over the next couple years.
I had a 3rd gen. The difference in just the ride alone and the coziness inside the cabin is breathtaking. It literally feels like a dream. The hand stitched heated leather steering wheel, heated and powered seats, big screen TV, plenty of compartments for storage, the anodized blue trim....god I love it. You and your lady would be soooo happy together in one, cruising down the highway on a cool summer evening with the windows down 🫶
Keep and upgrade with new infotainment, some aftermarket bsm's and cameras (unless you have the gen 2.5 in which case the reverse camera in mirror is the superior technology imo).
Mileage hasn't improved enough to upgrade. Safety features, maybe, but I've never needed the auto braking. The bsms and reverse sensors are nice and you can add those.
The relative lack of electronics of your current rig is a bonus as well if you off-road. Plus, the crawl control on the gen 3 isn't worth the cost to upgrade.
Ride this truck another 50k and you'll still have resale, the gen 4 hybrids will have a few model years out and may even be approaching a mid gen update for the 4s.
What would I do? I don't know your finances, but I think you would get around $20k for that? I dont need to always have the latest and greatest, but I do like to get rid of vehicles before they hit 100,000. A new SR5 might cost you another 20-25k. It will hit your savings a little or you might have to borrow a little, but you will get more modern safety features, a warranty, and an asset thats worth a more (and imo much more fun to drive).
It looks like you could do a straight replacement too. I had a 2019 OR, Extended cab, 6ft bed 4x4. I crashed it and traded it in during the pandemic. I was so disappointed that the new Tacomas don't offer a 4x4 in that configuration. It would be fine if an adult human could use the rear seats, but just as I felt in 2019, why bother?
No. I just like nice things. It still holds good trade value So I’d be $30.4 in debt on a brand new truck, considering the times we live in that’s a bargain.
Based off the given info, it would be stupid to get a new one. Better the Devil you know than the Devil you don’t.
You ain’t wrong
Why not modify it? There's a lot from cheap to expensive and easy install to difficult installs. Lift kit? OOT Tune to give it more pep? Add some ditch lights, roof rack, roof lights? Front and rear steel bumper? Rock rails?
Snorkel or hood scoop, it's a great truck to do whatever makes you happy.
2nd this!
Agree, upgrade suspension, to something really good 2.5 fox or better, it will make it feel like a premium truck, but reliable and with very good V6, add some tablet and amplifier if you want a modern infotainment system Probably will cost you 3~5 k and it will be super fun to drive, regear and tune if you have more budget , this is what I am going to do with mine in a few years with my 3rd gen
I’m kind of in similar boat with op, what do you mean by upgrade suspension? Anything you’d recommend that’s worked for you?
Upgrade the shocks , fox 2.5" or 3.0" or even better Bilstein 8xxx , get it to the raptor level, huge difference from stock ride. I have trd pro, and it rides so much better than regular trims, I also tried trd pro in 4Runner, just amazing how much difference it makes. Not talking about lifting or anything like that, it actually can make it stiffer
Keep it (and get new wheels) jk
Yes
Please start buying 4Runner limited wheels. I have some I want to replace with 17s on our 4Runner.
That’s basically what he has🍻
Why do you want a new one? What does this one not do that a new one would? Maybe put a new stereo in it with Car Play or Android Auto if you haven't already and pay to get it professionally detailed (over $300) and see if it scratches that itch.
Yes, for example I love RC cars but they can be expensive so if I feel the need to get one and I know I shouldn’t, I just buy an upgrade part for a current one I have and usually that does it for me.
Already has an upgraded stereo. I messed up by just looking at the new one now the urge is doing me in.
Go get this truck professionally detailed. It makes a huge, huge difference. If it were my truck, I’d spend on wheels. Chunkier tires, less “road” wheels look, and then maybe add tasteful light bar or something.
Send it to Hawaii, we’ll put 37s on that bad boy
Take lessons to improve financial literacy
I agree 100%
“I want a new one but there’s nothing wrong with my current one” Tell me you’re impulsive and financially reckless, without using those words.
Absolutely!
I’ll take it off you’re hands as you get your new one op
My opinion is if you have the cash to buy a new truck, go for it. Although, if it will add to your debt, keep your reliable 2nd Gen.
Drive it til the wheels fall off
It's barely broken in. Is it paid for? Why saddle yourself with more debt when you already uave one of the best Tacomas made?
I messed up just by looking at the new one.
What about the 2024 has you excited? I'm super disappointed it only comes in a 4 cylinder. Wish you could choose either a 4 or a V6. I have a 2017 and I will drive it till the wheels fall of, especially if they don't come back with a V6 in the future.

This is the correct answer, there is always issues when a new gen comes out. Wait a few years for all those issues to be figured out and corrected. Or get a 2021-2023 and save $20k
I’d keep the old one.
Keep it. Much simpler truck to keep running a long time. If you are bored with it, what do you use it for? Doesn’t look like it’s don’t much off-roading with lower profile tires. 🤷
Yeah keep it bud. Looks new still. I have a ‘14 my self & still very happy w/ it
Keep it. I have a 2016 SR5 with 130k and I won’t trade it. Why go looking for problems
Because op enjoys the thrill. He needs excitement in his or her life and likes to play life on difficulty
Keep it and do any upgrades you've been wanting.
I’ll take it
Keep it til the wheels fall off.
Save or invest the money instead. Keep driving the trusty 2014. Stealth wealth.
Drive it to its death. It still looks prime
I just traded in my 3rd gen sr5 for a 2024 trd sport. Im extremely happy with it. If you can afford the upgrade, do it. Theres no better time to trade in than now.
I’d probably keep it. Looks pretty minty.
Keep this truck and buy a race car.
Get a 3rd gen (best gen) Jk. If nothing Is wrong with it save the money and put it into more productive endeavors. Im looking at a 4th gen too but had to kick myself. Shits expensive these days, I think after I pay off my 3rd gen next year I'm good for awhile. Trade it in for a new one or sell this one and put that cash down on a 23-24. Don’t let Reddit stop you my guy
💯
I want a new one, too, but I’m happy with my 15 and 16 year old vehicles, especially the fact that I don’t have a loan.
Get a new one if you can afford it, I did it and I love it, better ride, fuel economy more power, don’t over spend in a TRD version, get a Sr 5 4x4 and you should be fine, 2014 tacoma is a fine truck but is old and updated.
“Nothing wrong with mine.” There’s your answer.
Trade it in in 2034
Enjoy payment free life for another 150k miles (minimum)
I assume it’s paid for. Keep it until getting a new vehicle is a need, not a want.
Mine is a 2001 Taco. 264k miles and running strong. I’ll drive it until one of us dies.
I'd keep that personally, you know it's a solid truck.
Keep it, take care of it, and drive it for another 20 years. If it’s not costing you lots of money and isn’t rusted why blow $60k (CAD).
In terms of me, I would keep the dependable truck, the new ones are comically hideous looking with over complicated systems.
If you have the means to buy a newer one ,go for it .imho
Do it. Just traded in my 21 TRD OR for a 24 TRD OR. I couldn't be happier.
4Runner wheels look so clean on there. Keep it. No payment is the best payment.
I almost got rid of my 15 prerunner but just couldn’t let go of something so reliable. So I got a GX and let my mom drive the taco lol
I’d keep it, but then again I’m poor so idk man
Different situations but kinda similar.
Dress it up! Put some clazzios in there
I'd reccomend you do whatever makes you happy. Personally, I would keep the truck and if you're craving more do some mods to it. Maybe new wheels and a head unit with carplay/android auto... but nobody here can or should tell you what to do.
Keep it
i have basically the same truck but rwd, i’m at 206k miles. only thing that went wrong was a spark plug went out and it costed 100$ to get the full engine serviced by a local mechanic. i am starting to hear a little rumbling, especially when i first start her up. but i have oversized tires on mine and they rub. but worth it for the look.
Get some clazzio leather seat covers and Apple CarPlay 👌🏼
New wheels and at least an AT tire would completely change that truck for the better. Keep it and do stated above.
Keep yours definitely! The best of the best Tacos.
At 92k this Taco ain’t even a teenager. Ride it another decade until the new gens are in their more stable years.
This is worth more then a new onw
Probably worth like 23k here in Pennsylvania
I would keep it. It has low miles and looks great.
Why you would hold a car for 20 years? Is not an asset. It depreciates every year.
Sell it! Get a new one. Make the world a better place!
Get new wheels and a lift. Both trucks basically do the same thing. No need to get into debt over a want vs a need.
If you make 150k plus a year you can probably squeeze in a new one...
Paint it, lift it, new wheels/tires… completely new truck lol
So…don’t waste money in a new truck, but waste money in unnecessary things for an old truck? Definitely is the way to make wealth!
That truck has plenty of life in it for upgrades, 92k miles is nothing
Of course, because burn money in aftermarket parts is an upgrade.
It’s a keeper man get some new boots on it
Just get different wheels
Keep that MF'er til it dies. I have a 2004 4dr TRD 4x4 and it runs like day 1. Too many careless drivers out there to buy a new vehicle nowadays. That thing will run to 300 or 400K miles if you maintain it properly. I'm at 213K miles over 20 years, hoping to get another 15-20 years.
Keep it and do some upgrades. Put in Katzkin leather on the seats. You can pick out patterns and whatever colors you want.
You should go into debt again. Its the smart thing to do.
Exercise contentment
Are you 13?
+25 so I think at my age we ought to have what we want as long as our priorities are in order.
That bad boy will last 200k more miles easy and is pretty classic looking I think... Keep that bad boy.
Just about to have my 15 sr5 paid off. Never sell, my friend. These babies are bullet proof
Keep it and run it to the ground
I wish I’d bought an SR5 instead of my Sport.
I had thoughts on trading in my 2014 6pd AC sport. It drives so well and it’s been paid off for awhile now. But I just can’t let it go. It’s a really good truck
What wheels are those? I’m looking at a set similar to those but they’re listed as tundra wheels so I didn’t think they’d fit
4Runner limited wheels
They look great! Did you have to do anything special to get em to fit?
Nope swapped them out with another Toyota right there at the car wash.
I’d change those damn rims. But not the truck :)
I had black trd wheels but I prefer the limited wheels and it rides better.
Hey it’s your truck whatever you like better I don’t think they look that bad I just wanted to talk shit lol nice truck tho I’m jealous of your 4.0l
When I get bored I do a small mod.
put the money you would’ve spent on a new one, on this one. double satisfaction.
Keep it.
Get new wheels and tires
Don’t scratch that itch
Sell it to me then!
I want a new Tundra. But I'm not stupid enough to buy one when my '13 taco still running perfectly and costed 3 times less than what the new Tundra costs today. Unless your financial profile allows you to get the new taco without any burden to you... stick with your current ride.
Spend the money on buying parts for it instead new wheels headlights taillights auxiliary lights ditch lights make it glow like a Christmas tree
The new ones are so outrageously expensive, I would just keep this one. Unless you have the extra income to spend on a 45-60k new truck.
The older the better. I have an ‘06 with 225K+ miles and I would never think of getting rid of it. If I were in your position I would sink money into mods/upgrades. Keep it.
Sell it to me!
My 2014 DCSB just hit 90k keep on keeping on!
I own two Tacos! 2009 TRD off Road 4x4 very beautiful and a beautiful 2023 also TRD off road 4x4. I’m just a girlie into Tacomas and I can solely say from the bottom of my heart I love and feel safest in my 2009!! I got the 2023 for leisure as my girlie truck to go shopping etc but when off roading/traveling camping etc I love my 09 and keep in mind it has 220k miles on it!!!
I did add all-terrain tires and rims of a 2021 Tacoma to my 09 and it gave it a whole new look that’s for sure! And LED lights !!
If you don't need a new one then at minimum don't get a loan for new one. If it's not broke and you can't pay cash for something newer, you don't need it. I did the same problem looking at the new gen and immediately quit doing that. Just paid off my 2019 and am putting the exact car payment into investments. Get new wheels instead of new truck
3 in readylift, and some 33’s. Some new wheels would definitely make it look better cause damn are they ugly. I think that would make you into it again
What's the point in getting a Tacoma and paying the price for it if you're just gonna get rid of it and get a new one before it even peaks
You want a new one, but you likely have somewhere around 250,000-350,000 miles of reliable operation left in this one, given good routine maintenance. You wouldn't need a new one for another 25 years at the current rate. You could be without a car payment until 2049. Why do you want a new one again?
Save your money 💰
This is a joke right? You have the 4.0 in that thing and it has sub 100k miles on it for a 10 year old tacoma!! That's amazing. I would supercharge that thing. Not buy a new one
Let them work all the bugs out of the new ones.
Let me share a couple of things that keep me from getting a new one. 1) Doing little mods here and there and once every so often a bigger mod. It makes me appreciate my truck more. 2) Not having a payment hanging over my head pretty much seals the deal on sticking with my current one.
Sell it to me. I’ll give you $5 now *and* $6 later
This one sounds like a keeper..
Keep it
In 2017, I bought a 2009 with 92k miles and I still have it with over 230k with very little major issues.
Drive it till the wheels fall off literally and that’s while maintaining it in 20 years it will be 30 and everyone will be envious
youd be dumb to get a new one.
If it is paid off, keep it! car payments suck
accessorize it and get a new steering wheel, touch screen radio.
I traded my ‘08 for a ‘12 and then the ‘12 for a ‘20 GX. I still miss my ‘08.
My dads 08 looked very similar to my 14 except the hood scoop and some other features
Ha, yeah. My 08 was the xrunner so it was a litttttttllle different
Sounds like you gotta keep with the Jones's....keep it bro. Go buy an asset like duplex instead.
Sell it for the original MSRP and get all your money back like everyone else is doing these days.
It’s probably the cleanest rust free one in my area. That’s why I bought it. I’m sure I can get most my money back.
Honestly, it would not be a wise decision and one that you may end up tegretting I'm still daily driving my 2008 4runner Limited that just passed 207k that I bought new..
I just wish they had a fix for the funky fenders on this generation
The only thing that bothers me is the taco tic going thru a drive thru
Keep the 14.
Is it paid off would be my first question. Car payments are for the birds
Never had a loan on it to begin with.
Keep it and stack cash.
Drive it till the wheels fall off. Car payments suck. Have some fun with mods if you want to get excited about it
Personally, get wheels that fit
Those wheels are hideous. Get stock or a set of 17” “fuels” with a a/t tire . All depends on what ya like but that looks the best on those trucks
Keep it and drive it. I had a 2012 I really liked. Only upgraded to a 2018 Tundra for room and towing, otherwise I’d still have it.
Sell it to me for way under its value and move on to something new…
Save urself the rape in car payment. Ur good if u can hold out for a bit. I love the newer trucks also. My frontier is extended cab and 4x2
if you can afford it who cares… get what you want.
3” lift. Black Method Racing wheels with 31-33” Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Opt for width with 1” poke.
Give it away for free to a guy telling you to give it away for free on Reddit @5:40 EST (5.29.24)
The new one would feel cool for 3 months and then it'd just feel like a tacoma. Just keep that bad boy
Definitely keep yours. Maybe put a little bit of that extra money you would spend on a new one and some upgrades or ET tires or something that makes you love yours even more.
Drive it until it won’t drive anymore!
Put a nice radio, and reverse cam (or move camera display to new radio). Drive it for another 100k
Keep it
I would wait for the second gen or third gen of the new tacoma to get it. First gen’s always come with some sort of recall.
Having just bricked a 22’ Tacoma by ‘driving normally’ don’t bother. Drive around and laugh at all the newbs and their incoming bills
Move on and want something else.
You have new truck money? I'd just swap out those wheels instead. Smaller diameter with some meaty A/T's.
I personally like this look. I’m 38 and in the Rv industry. We own our loft and are pretty secure. I think I can swing it for a new truck.
If it's not going to put you in any financial strain, go for it. Lives too short to not enjoy it.
I would ask myself what does the new one do that my current does not? I like nice things too. But cars are over priced.
If its paid off or close to paid off I would keep it
Trade that old sucker in for a new one. You know you want it 😄
I wish you were my woman. lol
You and your lady would be soooo happy together in one, cruising down the highway on a cool summer evening with the windows down 🫶
Keep it!
Live your best life.
Trade it in. If you can afford it why not?
Get a pedal commander. That should make it feel new 😁
Maybe just do some upgrades and keep rolling.
You must love burning money.
No. I just like nice things. It still holds good trade value So I’d be $30.4 in debt on a brand new truck, considering the times we live in that’s a bargain.
Not everyone in here makes 50k a year, live by your means ,meant if you make 160k a year you definitely can afford and deserve a nice ride.
Get some black wheels. 2nd gen best gen man just stick with it. Mine is almost at 200k miles
Had black 17 inch trd wheels on it for awhile but I didn’t like it. I prefer the limited wheels. I might do more aggressive tires before winter.
That’s fair, it’s all up to you and your preference my man👍🏼 sweet taco
Keep it 2nd gens the best
2.5 Gen is a forever truck.
Keep it and buy a new one.
