He's probably misunderstanding the tax credit. He won't get $7500 at time of purchase *and* another $7500 when filing federal income taxes. It's one or the other - not both.
Maybe. Though Tesla shows $6K as the estimated gas savings. But they're also stating "Model Y - From **$29,490** - After Federal Tax Credit & Est. Gas Savings" on the front page of www.tesla.com.
I did see this.. however when I put in a mock order for the model Y even with the tax credit base model no upgrades still totaled $37,000 .. so probably some glitches? Not sure.
I got an even better discount on a Model Y in NY at the beginning of the year: 7,500 tax credit, 500 NY rebate, and 7,500 discount because it had been a showroom vehicle.
Yes, I am aware of that. The car had 47 miles on it, so it was still considered brand new. In my opinion, a 7,500 dollar discount is a great deal in exchange for a few dozen miles on the odometer and a couple of minor scuffs left by curious showroom customers here and there. The car was in perfect condition when I picked her up and has all bells and whistles an LR AWD can have from the factory (red color, 20" wheels, white leather, hitch, 7 seats, and a mobile connector) All options are basically free of charge.
The 7-seater having extra discounts doesn't quite count as the slickdeal, when most people would probably rather have the extra storage space than the extra seats crammed in.
As far as I'm aware, the absolute lowest list price you could have had for a 2024 Model Y LR AWD was the 10% inventory discount for non-demo cars, which at $48900 means $4890 off, for a $44010 total; then on top of that, end of Q1 also had an extra Cybertruck $1000 off, for a total of $43010 list price before delivery charges, taxes or state/federal incentives.
Getting a 7-seater for extra cash, simply because the listed discount is higher, seems kind of silly. Also, DEMO cars that I've seen show up in inventory, are put into service about 4 months prior, resulting in a warranty that's shorter by 4mo or so; plus, if they have any amount of miles on them, it's likely a bunch at 100% instant torque, with lots of acceleration and hard breaking, which probably won't matter at 47mi, but definitely something to keep in mind with the 1k miles like many inventory cars.
It is not a demo car. It had not been used for test drives, unlike demos, and just sat in a showroom for 2 months before it was sold as part of the end of year effort. The warranty started on the delivery date. I will tell you a secret. The third row can be folded, and you will get the same 5-seater with lots of room in the trunk, but if you want to take 4 people for a ride, it is more convenient for one of the passengers to occupy the third row. My teenage daughter loves to have all that space for herself, and the people in the second row are not sitting like sardines in a can.
I picked it from the new inventory on the Tesla website on Dec 30th when the discounts were the highest. It was saying that it was a demo vehicle, but the mileage was suspiciously too low for one, 6 miles in the profile. I got a message from a Tesla rep on the 1st or 2nd, and they confirmed it had been a showroom vehicle on Long Island. Then, they made me wait for 10 days because they noticed a "paint imperfection" and had to fix it. By that time, Tesla solved the IRS tax rebate at point of sale puzzle.
The showroom is in Manhasset according to the earliest dashcam recordings, and the delivery center is in Westbury. I have had the car for 3.5 months. It has been great so far.
Did they buy it in Washington State? I'd think you'd have to be a resident there, but maybe not. They have an additional tax credit. The income cut off is pretty low though.
Got my $54k 2023 MYP in aug 2023
$5,500 discount (because demo car with 37 miles on ODO)
$7500 rebate check (received already and deposited in my bank)
$7500 tax credit
$2000 free supercharging card
My brand new MYP costed me only $31,500
AND i sold 3 more teslas to friends, now i have 14,000 miles of free supercharging on top of $2,000 supercharging credit š WINNER IMO
In March, discounts on showroom cars had been as much as that. So heās most likely not wrong. Also, a lot of states have EV rebates as well. Here in CT, theyāre up to $4400 on top of the federal discount. So I can see it being that much off.
No EV rebates in VA though (at least to my knowledge, anyway). I'd love to be wrong, but so far, VA hasn't offered much of anything in the way of incentives.
I believe you've misread my statement. The federal credit cannot be claimed **both** at time of purchase and again with the next year's tax filing.
If this is a separate $7500 discount that isn't a second claiming of the federal credit - that's okay. And a good deal.
I got 7500 off the lot vehicle which was brand new as well as the 7500 tax credit. And my electric company gave me a 1k rebate to install a wall charger at my home.
I landed a mylr AWD with upgraded paint and a tow hitch for 37k.
It can be a really good time to buy sometimes.
TIL Leasing is just temporarily buying. The media has it all wrong about how hard it is to buy a house...I know hundreds of temporary owners that have the option to change ownership locations each month and abide by rules made by someone else.
If you lease, Tesla gets the tax credit since they own the vehicle. They apply that $7500 to the lease to reduce the lease cost to you.
You donāt get to also take another $7500 credit on your own taxes. You didnāt purchase the vehicle, Tesla did.
Nobody disagrees that you can get the $7500 credit off of your lease. But you said you got another $7500 tax credit in addition to the $7500 lease credit. Is that a state credit? Or did you file it on your IRS tax return as if you had purchased a qualifying EV?
> WRONG AGAIN!!! š¤£šš¤” Stop making up BS dumb ass.
Why do adults wake up to tell lies on the Internet? Fucking sad!
I haven't replied to you before so not sure where that's coming from.
This is from your link:
> Leasing companies (the firms owned by or partnered with automakers that consumers lease cars from), however, arenāt subject to those restrictions, which means **they can receive the tax credit and pass it on to the consumer** in the form of a less-expensive lease.
Like I said, when you lease, the leasing company (Tesla) gets the credit since they are the purchaser of the vehicle, and they can pass it on to you as part of the lease. That's one $7500 credit. Not two $7500 credits.
I thought the most Tesla would discount was 10%. I saw several in inventory at the end of march with 10% discounts. I didnāt see any with more than that.
[14% discount](https://tinypic.host/image/IMG-4106.DuaRLR)
I just double checked with a quick search and hereās one at 14.1% from I believe April 30th
Still for sale I believe
https://tesla-info.com/car/US-7SAY236_4b7acfacee40ddf835459ae0dd7c2152-NV
Ah that's a demo model. Yeah those can be more than 10% discount. OP was talking about a new MY not a demo. I didn't think new MYs from inventory were discounted more than 10%. Others in this thread are saying though that it could be up to 12%. I never saw anything more than 10% in my area.
What am I looking at here? A new 2024 MYRWD is $42,290. This is a 2023 MYRWD that just sold for $39,140. That's only a little under 9% off a new 2024 MYRWD.
It's a DEMO 2023 model, and for DEMO the warranty starts earlier, so, the link you provide lists the price as of May 1, yet the warranty started on Oct 18.
Honestly, a 2023 model with 2345mi and 6mo less of a warranty, isn't that great of a deal at just the 14% discount.
I didnāt say 12% was exactly 7.5k, but I have seen performance models discounted as high as 12%. It is possible it was a demo that was discounted higher than 12% I would call that a rare discount compared to what I have seen
We picked up a YLR in early April in Jacksonville, FL. Got the $7,500 tax and $5,400 inventory discount. Sales rep told us it was the lowest price heād ever seen on a YLR since heād been there.
He prob just got one of those crazy discounted model Ys. I wanna say around March. Some of them were discounted as high as 12% off.
So in combination it is possible.
Some states (including CO) are doing a $7500 credit on top of the federal one. Most dealers are applying that credit directly to purchase price, sometimes framed as a deal incentive.
Idk how that works with Tesla ādealersā
Just trying to market to the gassholes, showing how the price difference isn't that much when you factor the gas savings. If it bothers you, just flip the toggle.
The inventory discounts were shown on the website for inventory vehicles. Tesla is not currently offering any inventory discounts so you wonāt see them on the website now
I think the dealer confused your neighbor intentionally or your neighbor didnāt understand it. There is only one $7.5k discount. Itās typically given upfront by Tesla at purchase.
I got a Model Y LR a couple weeks ago with tow hitch. It was right at 40K after $7500 tax credit and $3500 Tesla discount, so that would be a steal if that's what he got!
My state has an additional $2500 rebate. So once I receive my rebate, including a 4.25% sales tax and registration for two years, I will have purchased a model y lr with a tow hitch, mobile charging unit and tire repair kit for less than $40k everything included.
Past February/March? Yes, that was possible. They had discounts reaching up to $8,000. Then Musk fired most of the sales team and we only now see discounts on demo vehicles. So no discounts now
I could believe a RWD for that price.
A few weeks ago, for one week only, Tesla offered a [price adjustment on Model Y](https://slickdeals.net/f/17408472-2024-tesla-model-y-7-500-federal-tax-credit-40490-for-qualified-buyers?src=SiteSearchV2Algo)'s from $3,600-$5000 off depending on trim level. With the $7.5K federal credit, this brought the cheapest RWD in my region down to around $32K. It's possible there could've been an extra discount if it was a demo model or something like that, bringing it down to around $29K.
But to get a new AWD version at that price? Somethings's fucky.
You will only get $7500 tax *credit*, nothing more. The āgas savingsā is a marketing tactic that doesnāt save you anything on the car itself. Basically, they calculate that as if you take the money you are saving on fuel and throwing that onto the principal of the loan or something.
19s, free paint, and black seats wouldn't do it for me. at that point i'd by a hybrid Lexus or something. whenever i see those stripped out model Ys, such an eyesore
19s ride better and Tesla paint sucks anyhow, so spend the savings on paint. Plus who wants grimy white seats that look like they belong on a boat? š¤·āāļø
You have to be extremely careful how people mention what price they get their car, just like buying anything in US, your final OTD depends on a lot of things even for people living in the same state. Some people mention their price simply just by stating whatever price they see on Tesla's website without including the destination, order fee etc. Some people may quote how much their inventory discount which is fairly accurate to measure how good of a deal that they got but technically it depends what trim, color and options u are getting. Percentage discount tends to be the best way to measure how good of a deal. I think in general the best deal u can get before end of Q1 is 10% off msrp, I've seen some as high as 12% discount but may not be the exact trim/option u want. I think the absolutely best deal from Tesla I've ever hear people mention on reddit is 10% off msrp - $1000 CT buyer discount - free paint option (up to $2000 value for red) and on top of that u can get $7500 tax credit, state & local rebate/incentive, no sales tax in some states plus 5k supercharging miles (10k for trade in) + 3+1 month FSD + 1 year premium connectivity. The list goes on and on
We bought a brand new ā24 rwd Model Y in the 1st week of April for just under 35k. Sticker was $47k (it had the induction wheels) with 5k inventory discount + instant 7.5k federal tax credit
At peak discount, in CO, it was possible to get the $7500 POS, the $5000 CO tax credit, and additional $6000 from the state for trading in a car more than 10 years old, and an inventory discount of about $5000. You could easily and repeatably walk out with a MY for like $20k.
I just got 7.5k tax credit and 5k off a month ago so itās not unreasonable. I donāt think it was the awd. Itāll be on the website though if the deal is available so you can check yourself. The dealers arenāt really dealers in the classic sense. The sales are still done online
So I had a deal and the agent didn't tell me the discounts are VIN specific, so I didn't buy the car .. But Model Y performance with -$4,800 discount -$7,500 tax credit at purchase -$1,000 CyberTruck reservation -$1,000 friend referral = -$14,300 off Sticker.... Lost all of that because I was told I could order a car rather than go pick it up 100+miles away š¢. This was just 3 weeks ago
I picked up a MYLR in MD march 2024 and got the 7500 tax credit at POS and also there was an additional price adjustment of 4900. I am now just waiting on the MD 3000.
I bought a Model Y AWD Long Range, Ultra Red with FSD transfer and free acceleration boost for $37K out of the door in Washington State on March 20, 2024.
So yes, his deal is pretty much legit.
Just some insight on my 2024 model Y long range purchased at the end of March.
7500$ fed
8200$ state/local power incentives
5100$ tesla in stock discount.
Leaving the car note at 32kā¦ thatās cheaper than a new nissan rogueā¦ I absolutely believe there is not a new car at that price point that I would enjoy as much as I do the MYLR
The discounts around nova were the same as everywhere. The state tax credit they are probably including did pass but is unfunded. They wonāt get that money back
7.5k tax credit
6k inventory discount
1k cyber truck order discount
2k color discount for existing owner
And refer discount 5k super charge and 10k rewards
Discounts on Model Y are quite generous from time to time. So, this actually does
Not sound too far fetched. You can get a Model X, too, for now under $65,000 after rebates.
My dealer here in California offered an additional $4000 off in order to move inventory. Unfortunately they had met their quotas a week before I made my purchase so I missed out on that deal.
Back in January I got a $7,800 inventory discount PLUS the $7,500 tax credit at point of sale AND a $4,000 county rebate. It was still well over 29k though... closer to 38k for a MY Long range with 20 inch inductions and white interior which is about the lowest price I've seen anyone get... Not sure how they are getting to 29k.
There was a discount $7-8k off of a Model Y on this sub like a month ago because it was sitting at a service center and was a 2023 model but otherwise brand new.
I live in CA and got a model 3 back in September with a 6k discount since it was existing inventory and they were making room for the refresh, 7,500 State rebate and another 7,500 federal tax credit. The state rebate programmed stopped on Sept 6th though
Tesla's prices advertisements are complete bullshit and should have some sort of regulations in play to not allow them to advertise or calculate their costs the way they do. It sounds like a combination of what others are saying. He is looking at the pricing calculator and factoring in all of the credits you get later along with fuel savings. Its a huge crock to shit to be honest. Is he saving money? Absolutely but nowhere near that much.
I bought a MYLR in December in VA. At current MSRP a standard loadout MYLR would be $47,990 - $7500 tax credit = $40,490. Back when I purchased they were doing inventory discounts up to 10% off. This would be $47,990 - $4,799 (inventory discount) - $7500 (tax credit) = $35,691. Thereās no shot a brand new tax credit eligible MYLR was purchased for $29k. Your friend is likely including the āestimated gas savingsā in his cost breakdown. Heās either being intentionally misleading OR heās unaware how much he actually paid and is in for a rude awakening.
Yes, you are correct. I got mine a month ago for $42,500 out the door, including tax tag and everything with the upgraded interior.
That is after the tax credit of 7500 that they applied at time of purchase
Tesla does not have dealers. They sell direct to the consumer. In March they were offering discounts of about $6K on inventory Model Yās. That brought the price of the LR AWD model down to $36.5K. That is the lowest Tesla has ever sold them for.
In my city Tesla has multiple "experience centers" where you can walk in, talk to a sales associate, test drive multiple models, and purchase your own. It's not technically a dealership, but come on. For all intents and purposes, it's a dealer.
My point is a dealer implies a third party relationship, which it clearly is not. And a dealer infers that there might be some negotiating to do, or some variation in pricing from one location to another, which again there is not. No matter where you go you are interacting with Tesla employees and placing your order online on their website.
>Ā or some variation in pricing from one location to another,
Bullshit. I live in Atlanta and was able to choose between delivery at service centers in Duluth, GA (just north of the city) and Fayetteville, GA (a decent drive south of the city). The same model from Fayetteville was a grand cheaper.
First, your were merely being pedantic, which no one likes, now you're putting out false info. Come on, man.
No, you are misunderstanding how Tesla prices their cars. All decisions are made by corporate. When inventory sits around they lower the prices through discounting. It has nothing to do with the location or any local management making those decisions. Itās purely driven by how long the car sits at the delivery center. This has been discussed over and over again in this sub.
No. I understand completely. I literally just bought one 3 weeks ago. The point is, you can walk into "not a dealership", speak with a sales guy, compared deals on less expensive models at other locations, and buy them. Yet, pedantic twats on the internet still cry into their keyboards that "iTs NOt a DeAleRSHip!!!"
No one fucking cares, dude.
I keep checking inventory around Atl and the prices are nowhere close to the discounts people talk about on here. Why does it seem to be more expensive in GA? Even Savannah prices werenāt that great. Frustrating.
That ship sailed a couple weeks ago: [https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/16/tesla-ditches-ev-inventory-discounts-to-streamline-sales-and-delivery/](https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/16/tesla-ditches-ev-inventory-discounts-to-streamline-sales-and-delivery/)
I still wouldn't be surprised if we got another discount to clear inventory before the refreshed Model Y hits, but *who knows* when that will be.
Yeah but people are still listing amazing deals theyāre getting in their areas that are like 4-5k less than in GA & with way less mileage on the vehicles. Iām just stumped lol
Yes. The deals existed. 7500 tax credit and then an additional amount was being knocked off of some inventory cars. You can search here for the plethora of people showing off the deals they got.
He's just factoring gas savings. I was able to pick up a MYP for 38.5k after dealer and loyalty discount last qarter but the Long Range didn't budge like the Performance models did.
Depending on the timing, there was a tiny window where the inventory 2023ās were blown out in February where a few people posted that they got 15% off inventory.
Plus the POS rebate was in effect.
Soā¦ maybe? If itās more recent, as others have said, it more than likely reads as a āI bought this for an effective price of effective price of $29kā having taken the POS credit which will negate the $7500 at tax time.
Given that you're in VA, your neighbor is probably wrong about something, but this is close to possible. With good timing, you could have gotten about 5k discounts near or after the end of the year. Demo cars also got pretty sharp discounts. Then, 7500 federal credit on top at tax filing season. This year, that credit is transferrable to the seller, so Tesla takes your 7500 and applies it as a discount, but of course, you dont get to double dip when filing taxes next year. If in a high state rebate state like CA, it's quite possible to get in the low 20k+ range with federal + state + inventory discounts.
Teslas aren't expensive anymore, or at least they don't have to be.
Your friend absolutely could have gotten that price, I got $20,500 off on mine. $35k for MYP before taxes and fees. ($7500 federal, $7500 state, $5500 Tesla discount).
.
I don't live in VA. I had previously said there was an EV tax credit in VA bc I was misled by Google.
I did get a $7500 discount from my state though. But it'll take up to 3 months for me to receive that check from the state.
He's probably misunderstanding the tax credit. He won't get $7500 at time of purchase *and* another $7500 when filing federal income taxes. It's one or the other - not both.
Maybe the neighbor is including the "estimated 5 years of gas savings" that gets tacked onto their estimates now?
Maybe. Though Tesla shows $6K as the estimated gas savings. But they're also stating "Model Y - From **$29,490** - After Federal Tax Credit & Est. Gas Savings" on the front page of www.tesla.com.
Gas savings would differ state to state and based on commute, that number is arbitrary
Or you know, if you even own a car or not lmao.
That number is #musked af
Agreed. It also varies depending on how many miles are driven by the buyer, and by the local electricity rates.

[14% discount](https://tinypic.host/image/IMG-4106.DuaRLR) I just double checked with a quick search and hereās one at 14.1% from I believe April 30th Still for sale I believe https://tesla-info.com/car/US-7SAY236_4b7acfacee40ddf835459ae0dd7c2152-NV
Ah that's a demo model. Yeah those can be more than 10% discount. OP was talking about a new MY not a demo. I didn't think new MYs from inventory were discounted more than 10%. Others in this thread are saying though that it could be up to 12%. I never saw anything more than 10% in my area.
I see one sold for 13% non demo https://tesla-info.com/car/US-7SAY236_f1be00c95ab35c7d6aecdc137507027e-CA I donāt think thatās very common though
What am I looking at here? A new 2024 MYRWD is $42,290. This is a 2023 MYRWD that just sold for $39,140. That's only a little under 9% off a new 2024 MYRWD.
New MY 2023 RWD Midnight Silver/Black Interior 5 seats in CA US listed at 39140 Discount 5850 (13 %) AP
No, itās not. Whatās 12% of the purchase price? Guess whatās itās not $7500
I didnāt say 12% was exactly 7.5k, but I have seen performance models discounted as high as 12%. It is possible it was a demo that was discounted higher than 12% I would call that a rare discount compared to what I have seen
You need to be precise down to 1 cent otherwise redditor wonāt understand
r/notopbutok
But you can randomly comment. No problem, right? Hypocrisy at its finest
He asked OP, not you. How TF are you still confused lmao
We picked up a YLR in early April in Jacksonville, FL. Got the $7,500 tax and $5,400 inventory discount. Sales rep told us it was the lowest price heād ever seen on a YLR since heād been there.
South FL here. Mine was $7,500 credit + $5k inventory discount. They got rid of the discount a few days later so the timing was impeccable.
Yeah I wonāt but one at all unless I see the inventory discount come back
He prob just got one of those crazy discounted model Ys. I wanna say around March. Some of them were discounted as high as 12% off. So in combination it is possible.
I got $6000 off $50k list (12%) in late December
Thatās what I got. $5k off plus tax incentive plus state incentive. Was lovely. Car was $28k with trade in of $5k
Ya. I bought on 4/14. $5450 off a MYP. Love it, so glad I pulled the trigger.
Whatās 12% of the car price?
About $5k depending on the discount and which trim.
Some states (including CO) are doing a $7500 credit on top of the federal one. Most dealers are applying that credit directly to purchase price, sometimes framed as a deal incentive. Idk how that works with Tesla ādealersā
There are no Tesla dealers
Maybe he took the 10 year estimated gas savings into consideration that Tesla advertises.
The site defaults to 5 yr
I wish they wouldnāt include the gas savings the way they do itājust list it as an aside somewhere else.
Just trying to market to the gassholes, showing how the price difference isn't that much when you factor the gas savings. If it bothers you, just flip the toggle.
Whereās the toggle? Found it but it toggle off both gas and rebate.
Just put 1 mile per year and the gas savings are eliminated.
Thanks. I was playing around with it and This is the way!!
I meanā¦ I got a 6k inventory discount and 7.5k from the fed government. I got mine the end of last quarter.
How do you get āinventory discountsā, is that some thing you need to do in person at Tesla locations?
The inventory discounts were shown on the website for inventory vehicles. Tesla is not currently offering any inventory discounts so you wonāt see them on the website now
Thanks!
Letās see the bill of sale!
I think the dealer confused your neighbor intentionally or your neighbor didnāt understand it. There is only one $7.5k discount. Itās typically given upfront by Tesla at purchase.
Your neighbor is mistaken.
Itās literally on this sub where there was inventory discounts of 5k plus the tax rebate. Lots of people got 29k model Ys or 33k long range
I got a Model Y LR a couple weeks ago with tow hitch. It was right at 40K after $7500 tax credit and $3500 Tesla discount, so that would be a steal if that's what he got!
Include taxes and fees, you didnāt pay 40k
My state has an additional $2500 rebate. So once I receive my rebate, including a 4.25% sales tax and registration for two years, I will have purchased a model y lr with a tow hitch, mobile charging unit and tire repair kit for less than $40k everything included.
Also add in the $1390 destination fee. No way to get out of that one.
Past February/March? Yes, that was possible. They had discounts reaching up to $8,000. Then Musk fired most of the sales team and we only now see discounts on demo vehicles. So no discounts now
I got $7500 tax incentive, Tesla discount $5100, state incentive $4250.
He wasnāt mistaken. They had inventory discounts for up to that much.
The biggest inventory discounts I saw since December was around $5000.
tell him to show you the break down. lol
Imagine if this is the argument this guy used to convince his wife to allow him to buy a Tesla.
$34870 after tax credit is the cheapest I see in all of Florida for a Y. Gas savings shouldnāt be factored in.
Your neighbor is easily confused/finds simple math difficult. Butā¦. He has an awesome car so stop trying to burst his bubble. :-)
I saw about $5k discounts on inventory AWD models about a month ago. Itās possible it couldāve been as much as 7500 off in some areas
What's a Tesla dealer ?
You will only get $7500 tax *credit*, nothing more. The āgas savingsā is a marketing tactic that doesnāt save you anything on the car itself. Basically, they calculate that as if you take the money you are saving on fuel and throwing that onto the principal of the loan or something.
Great point, hydrastix! BIG šļø TO YOU!
19s, free paint, and black seats wouldn't do it for me. at that point i'd by a hybrid Lexus or something. whenever i see those stripped out model Ys, such an eyesore
19s ride better and Tesla paint sucks anyhow, so spend the savings on paint. Plus who wants grimy white seats that look like they belong on a boat? š¤·āāļø
35,600$ usd here after govt rebate. In south Korea thoā¦. Then all the addons startedā¦
Tesla.com has $29k after tax credit and gas savings. However, when I went to order it, all basic no add ons, the price jumped to $44k.
Exactly, saved me a comment.
Iāve never heard of a Tesla dealer? This deal sells illegal substances? I know that Tesla has service centers and showrooms with service agents.
I just got 2024 MYLR for 42.6k out of the door price 2 weeks ago. The original price was 46.6k - 7.5k = 39.1k plus 3.5k tax and fee = 42.6k
I was 48k out the door but I had addons. White seats 20in tires and 7 seater. 7500 tax credit and 5600 inventory adjustment.
Probably factoring the 15% of more he would save by switching to Geico
Mine was -$7500 Fed EV Incentive -$4000 Price Adjustment -$1000 Existing Owner Loyalty Incentive +10000 credits (Used on Acceleration Boost Valued at $2000)
So I had a deal and the agent didn't tell me the discounts are VIN specific, so I didn't buy the car ..
I just bought a Model Y in Tennessee about 2 weeks ago. 15 miles on car, $5,000 discount and $7500 tax credit.
I picked up a MYLR in MD march 2024 and got the 7500 tax credit at POS and also there was an additional price adjustment of 4900. I am now just waiting on the MD 3000.
Rear wheel drive
7500 off + 5200 inventory discount + 32k for my trade, brand new 2024 for a little over $8k
Your neighbor is confused
I bought a Model Y AWD Long Range, Ultra Red with FSD transfer and free acceleration boost for $37K out of the door in Washington State on March 20, 2024. So yes, his deal is pretty much legit.
Just some insight on my 2024 model Y long range purchased at the end of March. 7500$ fed 8200$ state/local power incentives 5100$ tesla in stock discount. Leaving the car note at 32kā¦ thatās cheaper than a new nissan rogueā¦ I absolutely believe there is not a new car at that price point that I would enjoy as much as I do the MYLR
I've seen a few Model Ys (both RWD and AWD) randomly discounted by about 3.5k, never 7.5k, even for showroom
The discounts around nova were the same as everywhere. The state tax credit they are probably including did pass but is unfunded. They wonāt get that money back
About 3weeks ago long range price was 50k And they give $7500 + $ 5000 = $37500 I dont know about rwd.
Really
7.5k tax credit 6k inventory discount 1k cyber truck order discount 2k color discount for existing owner And refer discount 5k super charge and 10k rewards
Ours said new for about that price but it was a 2023 ānew,ā still at the Fremont factory.
Discounts on Model Y are quite generous from time to time. So, this actually does Not sound too far fetched. You can get a Model X, too, for now under $65,000 after rebates.
I paid $46k for my MYP 2024 with tax credit
Just picked mine up today! Itās legit!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
My dealer here in California offered an additional $4000 off in order to move inventory. Unfortunately they had met their quotas a week before I made my purchase so I missed out on that deal.
Sounds like Bovine Excrement to me
I recently purchased a Model Y Performance -$5200 off purchase price from tesla and -$7500 from the instant tax rebate
I saved 29k+ by not buying one. that insane. and you all can save 29.5k too!!!
Depending on the state you can get another 7500 incentives. My state you get about 5k in addition to the $7500.
Is he saying he got it for $14k OTD?
Iāve got beachfront property in Iowa if he wants a deal.
Possible, I got mine at 47k for performance with towing, white sit, white paint.
Warning sign: there is no such thing as a Tesla dealer.
He is a liar
Fugazzi
Tax credit is applied at the "dealerships" now, unless the state has additional rebate
āThatās insaneā quite literally
Neighbors say the dumbest shit sometimes.
>Ā or some variation in pricing from one location to another, Bullshit.
Yet, pedantic twats on the internet still cry into their keyboards that "iTs NOt a DeAleRSHip!!!" No one fucking cares, dude.
Oh wow let me check Fayetteville. Iāve been using the inventory checker in Decatur.
I keep checking inventory around Atl and the prices are nowhere close to the discounts people talk about on here. Why does it seem to be more expensive in GA? Even Savannah prices werenāt that great. Frustrating.
That ship sailed a couple weeks ago: [https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/16/tesla-ditches-ev-inventory-discounts-to-streamline-sales-and-delivery/](https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/16/tesla-ditches-ev-inventory-discounts-to-streamline-sales-and-delivery/) I still wouldn't be surprised if we got another discount to clear inventory before the refreshed Model Y hits, but *who knows* when that will be.
Yeah but people are still listing amazing deals theyāre getting in their areas that are like 4-5k less than in GA & with way less mileage on the vehicles. Iām just stumped lol
Same. we have 3 just in my county alone. One being the service center.
Yes. The deals existed. 7500 tax credit and then an additional amount was being knocked off of some inventory cars. You can search here for the plethora of people showing off the deals they got.
I paid $43k out the door including destination fees and taxes. Your neighbor is full of it. Still a great deal.
Should've known it was something stupid right after the "So I live in VA"
I searched EVERYWHERE for a deal. That deal don't exist. Tesla dealers don't do discounts. Discounts are on inventory only.
Also, Itās 50k+before the creditā¦ how could it possibly be $29k OTD without a trade inā¦ math is tough, I know
Given that you're in VA, your neighbor is probably wrong about something, but this is close to possible.
Someone not too long ago got a 3 for $13k. It all depends on your state and what credits are available.
Yes this is correct. I got the same thing!
After sales tax ?
Your friend absolutely could have gotten that price, I got $20,500 off on mine. $35k for MYP before taxes and fees. ($7500 federal, $7500 state, $5500 Tesla discount). .
VA doesnāt offer state tax credits for EVās
I think you're right. I naively trusted the top Google result.
What do you mean correction so are you saying you did not get the $7500 off so what did you pay with taxes total and then what did you get off?
I don't live in VA. I had previously said there was an EV tax credit in VA bc I was misled by Google. I did get a $7500 discount from my state though. But it'll take up to 3 months for me to receive that check from the state.
Thank you have a good day. Enjoy your vehicle. Iām considering buying one.
You gonna get one? They might be offering inventory discounts again next month.
How about you just include taxes and fees cause you didnāt get it for 35kā¦
Jealous?
Yes now give me factual information. Thanks
