If you are using the schluter metal to finish the tile, just double it up. Turn a piece to cover the board and another piece to cover the tile.

Holy smokes I like this a lot

If you're really feeling frisky, you can do a miter edge and cut a little return.

pinkamena_pie

What is this called?

cckriss

I don’t know

You could have shimmed out the whole wall a half inch to avoid this situation. You can always double drywall that wall!

👆🏻 And if you can’t do this for some reason like it would require you to get a new vanity or something you didn’t plan on doing, build a short little return wall that you can attach a shower doorto. Like 4 inches out.

niceguy_natsoc

This is such a tile guy answer lol

You can trim this out with wood to match the finish wood in the rest of the room. If it is painted, you can use PVC trim (leave a gap for expansion) as it performs well in wet environments. If it is clear coat, use the same species and coat all 6 sides of the wood with 3 coats of spar urethane.

Gonna be forced to run rips up that side or some kind of pencils. They use to make mud cap for this but that's a thing of the past. GL

Avoid to begin with. Could have filled in the shower pan with dry pack to make up the difference. Too late now, but planning ahead is a huge part of tiling. The return looks good in the pics someone else posted, but looks tedious. You could just trim it up with a piece of PVC trim, double up on the schluter edge as others have noted, use a small piece of painted right angle and mortar that over the edge, use a pencils style tile trim. Many different ways to tackle. If correcting the issue isn’t an option, just roll with it and figure out what would look best.

Add another sheet of drywall.

I would use that ½ board as a screed for some durabond. Feather it out to 0, over 12-24". Similar technique to mud framing. Everything else, including a chicken shit (very small) return, would look contrived imo.
