Definitely not, the umps make the decision not the teams. You could argue if one of the teams made a big enough stink, maybe the umpires would change their mind to avoid having to deal with the fallout, but that would be a big accusation.

In the latter case the tarp comes off and there's be an announcement that the game will resume at X time. Then they prep the field. The tarp's been off for like an hour and a half and no announcement of anything. Anyone know what's going on?

There's always talk of Toronto singing a big FA. We wait until they're on the back end of their career and coming off of injury. Neither Freddie or Ohtani were a realistic possibility. So don't kid yourself too much
