Lol reminds me of that horror movie “the visit” where grandkids go to visit their grandparents for the summer
>!turns out the grandparents were escaped asylum patients who murdered their actual grandparents and just assumed their identities!<
"Despite being eerily plausible, "The Visit" is actually a work of pure fiction and not based on a true story. The film explores themes of aging, fear, and generational trauma, while also highlighting the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation. M."

Watched this movie because I was like: “oh, look, a found footage type of movie. I love these!” Was unpleasantly surprised at how scaring it was. Had a grandma who had similar face to this grandma with some also strange ideas. Never in the same room with her, Alone, after watching this. lol!
I just read a story that reminds me of this. A woman who was hired as an overnight caregiver for a woman with dementia. At one point during the night, the caregiver woke up hearing a slamming noise. The woman was in the kitchen slamming the oven door open and closed repeatedly.
The caregiver got the woman back to bed, but then woke up later to find the woman brandishing a knife. The caregiver got the FUCK out of the house and called the woman's relative to come home.
Just the image of hearing and seeing someone in a dark kitchen repeatedly slamming an oven door is terrifying. It's just...not right.
That reminds me of that [scene in Azumanga Daioh](https://youtu.be/qEoMMC1WP5U?si=G0nM1KND1eXDO7HX) where one of the characters has a dream, and was half asleep, and wanted to prank her teacher awake with a frying plan. Instead, she had grabbed a knife. Hilarious.

It is worth noting, while this is very similar, it is not an actual scene from the movie, which focuses on weird things happening during a visit to meet the grandparents.
OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:

Just from the way the oven(?) door is moving I’d say the entire thing is cgi besides his face. The acceleration is too unrealistic. Source, I tried to recreate that clip of the dad and son making a beat with the oven door and it is way harder than it looks.
Fully agreed, it's a well made clip, but it has that Garrys mod feel to it, where air isn't really a force to be reckoned with. While the crack is possible, the insane vibrations of the cross moves way too fast compared to the force/speed she is using.
I think the cross part though is intentional. The implication is that she’s possessed and the cross is reacting to the demonic presence by shaking. Not sure what the crack means though.
I THINK it isn't the darkness or anything that makes this especially absolutely genuinely terrifying, but the fact its in that area of uncanny valley, opening and closing an oven door (?) repeatedly just does it for me. The rest is just story.
Well, son grandma is just having an internal mid lofe crisis. Don't worry, Father jake will have the same long private talks that he has with you every sunday, and she will be too normal. Son, why are you also crying blood like grandma
Literally my downstairs neighbor who hasn't left her apartment since at least June 2023. 24/7 with the banging and shaking of the walls just like that.
You know how we had found footage horror movies for a while, then unfriended tried a new approach with a horror movie where 99.9% of it took place on a PC screen (or at least it was trying to emulate one)? I feel like the next step is a horror movie entirely consisting of instagram stories, snapchat videos and whatnot.
Darn it grandma, I told you. If you can't quiet down your going in a home. Now stop your head from spinning in circles, clean up this green vomit and go back to bed.
Pretty sure she's faking it to get the young bum out of her house.
That generation is known for coming up with hyper dramatic ideas for solving problems.
Your post has been removed because it does not feature an unexpected twist.
Just tell her youre hungry and she will go back to normal
Grab a snickers ![gif](giphy|4EHsAtAPcV41vx2B5s)
I have a sneaking suspicion this whole post was some guerilla marketing setup for this comment but even if it was I ain’t mad cause it’s perfect
All the salt in the world wouldn't save you from this demonstration of evil
I see you haven't paid attention to chemistry classes
why? can they make a-salt-rifle with it?
There was no chemistry class in my day.
no fucking way, they had Oppenheimer before it was even a thing
Maybe I should go back to chemistry class...
I see crack on the wall... At this rate, the whole house is going down in year.
Yeah I saw that too, that entity means it to
You have to use pink Himalayan salt because of its added properties of being pink and Himalayan
Potassium salt it's rich in potassium
Salt has salt in it
I feel a salted
Why did I read this as if charlie was narrating it
Because my writing and timing is just that good
This movie doesn't end well.
Imma do that to my grandkids when I get old

Oh I assumed this was from that
No, the camera is too well done. It's not filmed on a 40k RED camera and passing as found footage.
That was a good movie.
M. Night doesn't get enough credit since his Avatar bungle but his movies are pretty awesome.
This is exactly what I thought of as well. I think the lady had sun downer syndrome or something like that
Wasn't that also like a true story too? Or am I mixing stuff up?

Damn, I listened to the same horror story on a YouTube channel two days ago.

The shot of the cross on the wall and object falling was almost cinematic
Almost intentional!
It's not real, my dude.
You sure?
The wall by the cross cracks like a horror video game. The second half is obviously a computer rendering.
Oh I just saw that lol
I can tell by the pixels that it is fake.
Trust me bro /s
is it from the M.night Shyamalam film "The Visit"?
I don't think so.
It is real
Time to get married and get a new grandma
I saw that movie
Name?
“ the Visit” fun movie
Depends+face= true horror.
Oh you have seen the movie then
Yup.
Thanks, I'll give it a watch

Bruh, get the fuck outta there. That ain’t your grandma anymore
The visit
At that point just give up
Well I don’t think even that is an option
Make that the fridge and you’ve got me
Nah call the fire department and make sure they bring the holy water.

Decent animation.
Tell your grandma she looks like CGI
The cross and the crack in the wall are edited, right? I doubt grams is that strong

Also the slamming sound happens when the door is opened, not when it's closed. It's definitely edited at the very least.
Exorcista da família flashbacks
Grab your trombone and jam with her
Not even everyone’s homie Jesus could stop grandma from being a 3D rendered effect- I mean possessed.

on night walking in sleeping mod and working ?
She’s moving with such precision. I don’t like this
Sorry, Grandma, bang!! right on the throat.

An even more raggedy bootleg Blair Witch Project?😂
Imagine if you could crack the wall without breaking the glass of the oven door.
Pretty sure she's faking it to get the young bum out of her house. That generation is known for coming up with hyper dramatic ideas for solving problems.
She needs mental health bad
