MIB doesn’t deserve the hate, the animatronics are dated but in a way that I feel fits the franchise and gives it a charm. That said, Bourne is insane, and blew me away the first time I saw it

CloudyTug

Yeah like, i dont see space ranger spin getting hated at disney and MIB is def less outdated than it

Denangg

Space Ranger Spin should get more hate. It’s incredibly outdated.

CloudyTug

Bad take. the older shooter rides are superior, all new shooter rides are mostly screens, shooting at physical stuff is more fun.

Denangg

It’s on par with the old Reeces cup challenge at Hershey. It’s below Disney standards, the lasers don’t work well anymore, it breaks down all the time and the ride is worn down. Hell, Kennywood has a similar Haunted laser ride. I would argue that one is better.

Fickle_Translator999

I like it too. But Horror Make Up Show is my favorite.

chaostitano

I'm so sad I missed this show for my first trip in Feb. Planning an insane trip next year for EPIC and I can't wait to see the other shows at Stuidos!

romanf12

It’s honestly not as good as it sounds. Bourne is wayy more worth your time especially if you have a short amount of time at USF.

chaostitano

I mean each to their own. Bourne was fantastic.

goodsuns17

I think they meant the Horror Make Up show, and I agree. Not worth seeing more than once.

romanf12

Yea, I meant the Horror Make Up show. It’s honestly good if you have extra time and it isn’t a “once in a blue moon” trip or you live far away. It’s alright for one time but after that it’s more of a time-burn. Bourne is much more worth it and wayy more fulfilling

keels81

I'm a fan. I took my Mom to see it the last time we went to the parks together and she loved it. She's a local, so she now goes to see the show every time she goes to the parks to get her steps in.

Overall-Scientist846

I was shocked at how good it was.

MistaDee

Haven’t had a chance to experience it yet, but as a huge fan of the old T2 show, I see this as almost its mixed media spiritual successor Would love to get something like it in Hollywood

frigzy74

My only complaint on Bourne is the pre show is absurdly tedious.

hannahjoy33

Yeah, I love the movies, but we absolutely do not need to stand there for 10 minutes with Julia, lol

BarDownSki_11

Agree, although I did enjoy the Mummy. But the park does offer great character interactions that IOA lacks and suprisingly I kind of enjoyed Jimmy Fallon ride, but I wouldn't be sad to see it go. Wish the Beetlejuice show still existed.

1handedmaster

I can't believe they got rid of it right before it gained a resurgence of popularity since there is now a musical (which is fantastic) AND a new movie

crowd79

Entire park as a whole needs a refurbishment. Agree that I don’t like 1/2 the rides there compared to IOA where all the rides are good. I think a major remodel of US will happen once Epic is open.

chaostitano

100% agree. Studios has some really good older rides (Mummy, MIB, ET) but things like F&F, Fallon, Simpsons need replacing with something new.

crowd79

Unpopular opinion: don’t like MIB. Minion Blast is way better even though arms get tired at the end.

chaostitano

Well unpopular is right haha. I personally think that much space could be used for something way better. But hey you like what you like! And i'm glad you enjoy it!

ILikePrettyThings121

Def an unpopular opinion - my whole family including 2 kids who are prime minion age rated minion blasters on par with fast & furious for the worst rides in both parks. I’m genuinely curious what you liked about it - it’s incredibly hard to find your “dot”, the blasters aren’t very reactive nor are the accurate, you have to refind your dot every time you switch screens & the moving walkway was annoying trying to remain on your dot. It had the potential to be a really cool ride but missed the mark. And for what it’s worth, it’s been walk on this whole past week.

Moo_Cows_Moo

I'm with you on this! The spinning of MIB can give me really bad motion sickness which just ruins the rest of my day. Don't have to worry about that with Minion Blast though.

FatalFirecrotch

I don’t want this to be a Universal vs Disney debate, but it’s pretty funny how fans give Disney way more flak than Universal for the state of their parks. If USF was a Disney park, fans would ridicule it all of the time. It suffers the same problem that Hollywood Studios has had to face where the studio part has been abandoned and now the park is all over the place. And if Disney released rides as bad as Rip Ride or Fast and Furious? They would be way more backlash.

TheCourierMojave

Disney has more outdated rides than universal has rides.

Capotesan

A rare occurrence where something awesome (Terminator) was replaced with something else and became more awesome

Outrageous-Pen-7441

Agreed. I LOVED the Terminator show as a kid, and as someone not really into Bourne I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the replacement, but it blew me away, definitely a worthy successor

Gain_Spirited

I'm an adrenaline junkie, but I totally get what you're saying. It's by far my wife's favorite thing at USF because she hates fast rides. I like the show a lot too. The park really needs more good rides like IOA. My favorite ride there is RRR and that's probably getting replaced!

NeverMoreThan12

You like rrr better than the mummy?

Gain_Spirited

The Mummy was down whenever I went to Universal so I can't answer that. I definitely like RRR better than Escape from Gringots which is the other indoor coaster. I rate RRR just under The Hulk and not by much. Since The Mummy is so much slower it's hard for me to imagine I would like it better, but I could be wrong.

Stormchaser2

The show has broken down every time I’ve seen it, but it is a very impressive show when it works.

Last-Dln0saur

Only second to Mummy

Megatron30000

Fantastic show

lsignori

ET though 🥺

chaostitano

The Bourne show is absolutely incredible. I think the animations on MIB and ET are awesome because it adds a cool nostalgia for me. I think parks need some older rides. I do agree with RRR and a lot of the 3D rides are bad. The sooner RRR and Simpsons get replaced the better. Gringotts for me is an example of a fantastic use of 3D for a ride.

Mooplez

My hope is that a good chunk of the money from epic will be used to fix up USF some more once Epic starts to turn a profit eventually. Probably sometime in the realm of time that Simpsons license expires would be my guess, but we will see. HHN is my favorite thing in Orlando, period, but it's only a few months out of the year and USF the rest of the year is more of a pop over and ride a few things and head out type of experience for me.

Every_Doge_HasItsDay

Can we ask your age? MIB is nostalgic to me. First time I rode I thought it was lame. Now I can’t wait to ride when I get back. I’m hoping Studios gets a major overhaul after Epic is completed. With that said, my son still can’t tell the difference between the people, props, and screens because the screen is that damn good. I wish they’d use that to replace all the projection screens throughout the parks

scienceteacher91

I'm in my 30s and definitely agree that the Bourne show is amazing. I think it's one my favorite live shows at Universal or Disney. Certainly my favorite live action show. I've never watched MIIB, so no nostalgia here for me. It's an often short line for air conditioning and a fun game, which is nice. About as good as lightyear.

Every_Doge_HasItsDay

In my 30s as well. It was one of the first movies I actually remember watching with my dad. I thought it was great. But it's ran it's course. Let's move on now lol

FFNY

Loved jimmy fallon - unexpectedly!

No_Mode_3746

Yeah it’s decent. Super over hated. Replace F&F, transformers, simpsons with new stuff and the park will feel brand new

KenyattaLFrazier

MIB catching strays 😭

Dojo_dogs

I’m about to get technical but Bourne doesn’t use a “screen” what Bourne uses is what’s called an LED Wall. Think of a concert and how they have the walls of content that move or flash or have images or even the artist on them. That’s what Bourne uses along with RFID set pieces and pyro technics. So NOT a screen based attraction by any means at all. Also just a fun little memo. The way the WALL is and the height makes me think that they are touring tiles like the ROE Carbon 5’s which are one of the most common tiles you see at concerts. (Coming from a tech who builds LED Walls for a living so yes I do know what I’m talking about)

Accomplished_Low9905

It's an amazing show

DinJarrus

It’s the best show but not the best thing…that’s Hagrids! ;) But seriously, it’s the best show I’ve ever seen at any theme park. My brother was blown away with how real it all feels. It really immerses you in the action!

HackWeightBadger

Hagrid's is in IOA not Studios

DinJarrus

Isn’t Universal Studios Florida encompass the entire parks, with Studios and IOA all under that umbrella? That’s what my point was.

HackWeightBadger

Universal Studios Florida (USF) refers to just the Studios park. The whole complex is Universal Orlando Resort. That's how Universal themselves refers to it on their website.

DinJarrus

Oh OK. Thank you. I’m new to Universal so I’m still learning all the lingo :)

HackWeightBadger

No problem :) Please do continue to participate. And I agree Hagrid's is the best overall!

DinJarrus

Thank you! I’m at Disney for a day and I miss universal so much (although I’ll be there tomorrow 😂). The vibe at Universal feels so much more relaxed and most of the rides are more fun! Everything at Disney feels like I’m always in a rush :/

HackWeightBadger

Enjoy! I'm sure Disney will be fun! Certainly more fun than I'm having at work 😄

SensibleTom

I’m a big Harry Potter fan so that in itself is enough for me to enjoy the park whenever I visit.

CdnFlatlander

I thought it was amazing because of the screen actors. So hard to see the difference.

ForgetfulFrolicker

When my wife and I saw it, there was a girl loudly coughing the entire show. It was so bad that I couldn’t even enjoy what looked like a very cool show. The AC was nice though.

Mike_Minotti

It blew me away when I saw it for the first time last month, totally exceeded my expectations.

callmemacready

Amazing what they have done but just done care for the Bourne IP. T2 3D attraction was a brilliant attraction and great IP pity they couldnt have just updated that

SignKitchen

We've never had the captioning glasses properly work. They're either way behind or they just stop working mid-show =/

allenhuffman

I enjoy it the more I see it — and have been viewing it from different spots in the theater each trip out. The moving set pieces are really cool, though I have never seen a Bourne movie so I really don’t have any feels for what the show is about. It’s just some guy they are trying to find to me. Now, if this had been a James Bond show . . .

NeverMoreThan12

No mention of the mummy? That's got the be the best ride there.

IniMiney

That abbreviation is fucking with my Bulls brain

themob34

I really like Gringotts, but BS was fun. The whole Simpsons area needs to go, minus Duff Beer.

baronboy12

I enjoy Bourne Stuntacular, the only bad thing about it is the 30 minutes standing in the pre-show room.

PhillyPhillyLOVE

RRR isn’t 3D? The Mummy’s better.

craigoz7

I think MIB could afford the video screen update (oh no, there are aliens in your opponents car) bc it’s so blurry. But the animatronics themselves are still tops.

ForsakenMall5039

I was very impressed with it when I saw it in 2022. I look forward to seeing it again sometime next year . Very well done show.

Shot_Map_1363

Been on it 3 times, it broke down 3 times. Once we had to leave. If I hear “we will be right back, this is the largest screen in the world…” speech one more time I’m going to snap!

bigmikemcbeth756

Yes

Fathoms_Deep_1

Horns Down

SoGratefulForJesus

Diagon Alley is the best thing at USF, and it's not even close. :)

NoQuantity7733

Everything new they have added besides Harry Potter related has been an absolute shitshow.

Datmiddy

Bourne is underrated big time. The timing it takes to make it work for the actors, the rotating stage pieces, just wasn't expecting to be so surprised at it.

ThemeParkFamily

UO is amazing to me and I never get bored. I agree on 3D. I agree Bourne is amazing. A must do imo.

z_buzz

Most DEFINITELY an unpopular opinion as far as I'm concerned.

BankNo8895

Our only experience with Bourne was August 2020, and it underwhelmed. Not bad at all, just not what we hoped for. Anyone else had that initial reaction and then been more impressed later, or are we just Philistines?

madchad90

I think it's the most overrated thing in the park.

Outrageous-Pen-7441

That would be Gringott’s

No_Mode_3746

Anything HP that isn’t hagrids is so average at best.

Outrageous-Pen-7441

Have to disagree there, Forbidden Journey is still one of my favorite rides at IoA 12 years after I rode it for the first time

No_Mode_3746

Makes me (and most people I know) sick. Not a big fan, but to each their own. The ride queues are ridiculous though.

Outrageous-Pen-7441

They most definitely are, yes. Sorry to hear that the motion sickness prevents you from enjoying the ride.

Antique_Start_2855

Agree. But they’re getting epic universe and super excited for that.

bobbykreu

Bourne replaced the last good stage show at USF, and it’s a terrible one at that.
