As someone who is in the MEd program I find it ironic that a lot of my class materials talk about the importance of flexibility and student choice and voice as part of best practices in education, but the Learning Pathways is unnecessarily rigid and doesn't allow any choice or autonomy for UoPeople students.

UniPeacMaid

tragic irony gets me every time lol

TomThanosBrady

I'll only have 3 courses left, so it would be difficult for Pathways to f#ck me over this time. It is UoPeople though, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they somehow f#cked things up.

Cellopost

I spooked my cat with how hard I laughed at the first sentence. I said the same when I was only four courses away from the end. I had two or three registration f#ck ups. I lose count because f#cking up is the only thing UoPeople's registration system ever did reliably. Pathways sounds pretty bad. UoPeople's hearts were in the right place. Just sounds like they executed it quite poorly.

Watch them obliging you to take 2 electives you don’t need before you are able to select one of the 3 you do.

UniPeacMaid

I'm worried the system will be like, "sorry. you don't need any more electives. you can select from the major related courses still remaining, though."

Del_Phoenix

I mean I have five courses left, but for almost a month I've been getting a run around trying to transfer in an ace recommended course from saylor Academy. It's blocking my pathway.

This is incorrect, the Ace website shows the sailor software engineering course as being currently recommended. If you want to look, it's saya 0018

AshleyOriginal

I only had 4 courses left and last time they offered me 3 unrelated classes I had to sign up for before they even showed 1 class I wanted. I had to email my advisor to get those other classes removed because I didn't want the extra course load since I work full time when I can too. (If I had all the time in the world and money those classes did look fun even if they have nothing to do with my degree)

JustAnotherNumber99

I’m hoping that enough people took this semester off to persuade them to drop the learning pathways BS. I only take one class a semester and I liked being able to take easier classes when my workload was high at my job, or an elective when I saw something interesting. This sucks.

UniPeacMaid

we shall see, I guess

Privat3Ice

I'm registering for a summer class, looking to take ONE specific thing. Since I've filled all my requirements, I wonder what Pathways will do.

UniPeacMaid

let ke know, because technically my elective requirement is filled this term
