The same problem occurred to me on Windows 11 with a 5.1 opus track in an MKV video, so this is most probably a VLC bug. I haven't got a solution right now, just wanted to make the info available
Hey. I dug around a bit, didn't have much time researching, and it looks like it's a bug for this version. Hopefully they will patch it in the next updates.
downloading the previous version of VLC worked for me. [https://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/3.0.20/](https://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/3.0.20/)

How long does it usually take for such a fix to make it into a release??

Same issue here. I have an AV1 video and an 5.1 opus track in an MKV video, and even though the video is shown, the audio doesn't work right now.
Hey man, same problem here. Did you find any solution? MPC-HC plays it fine on mine but VLC has no audio on the same video.

Thanks, have a nice day
You, too. HMU if you find a solution for it.
Same problem here, I use MPC-BE as a backup and it works there for now.

Yeah, the dev said they are working on a fix rn
Good to know, thanks! BTW can you link to where the dev said this? EDIT: Ooops, sorry I just saw that they responded here!
There seems to be a regression with OPUS audio in VLC 3.0.21. We are investigating this at the moment.

We will do a new release soon as we found a few things that need to be addressed shortly.
Great, thanks so much!
