I got the SEBO E3 Premeir last week and it is white, I named her Alice. Love her

elvisprezlea

Ooooh I’ll have to name mine

grandcherokee2

Sebo makes some of the most robust vacuums available. I have owned a Miele C3, Sebo E3, and Sebo D4 canister plus some Sebo uprights. Miele and Sebo canisters are top notch. I’d also like to try the Lindhaus HF6.

Moood79

If you had to choose between Miele and sebo, which would you choose?

No-Replacement-2450

Sebo. Their customer service is much better. Their filters, bags, service and repair parts are so much less expensive than the same items from Miele, and unlike Miele which won't sell you any parts and expects you to take your vacuum to a Miele dealer for repair, Sebo will sell you any part so you can repair it at home if that is something you want to do (I do) . Go to the Sebo America website and look at parts prices. Very low. I also love how you can replace Sebo brush rolls when they wear out without having to disassemble anything. The dust bags are much larger (so you change bags less often) yet they cost less than Miele bags. Mieles have crummy small attachments while Sebo has excellent attachments. I could go on \^\_\^

elvisprezlea

These are most of the reason I chose SEBO after originally planning on Miele. Plus I’ve seen a lot of more recent posts of the wands on newer vacuums breaking, and suggestions that their quality may have gone down as of late. Not sure if there’s any truth to it but I never saw any similar claims related to SEBO, so that further solidified me going with SEBO.

Moood79

Thank you! I have a love hate relationship with my Miele. Part of it is definitely how much everything costs. I also had to get an off brand attachment for hard wood, because the Miele has brushes all over theirs. I have a sheltie, all those brushes do is collect the hair, not suck it up.

My wife and I just purchased a SEBO Airbelt D4, she loves it

grandcherokee2

Miele C3 hands down! It filters better, it’s easier to handle, cleaned my carpet better, and I prefer the Miele twister hard floor tool, especially the extra wide version. There are pros and cons to each model and brand, and it’s up to the user to determine which setup is best for them. I sold my E3, and D4. I wasn’t fond of using them and was not as impressed with the power nozzle performance. What I did like about them was that they are a little easier to disassemble. Sebo’s corporate customer service is top notch, whereas it’s hit and miss with Miele’s corporate customer service. Bags and filters were less expensive, but they also don’t filter as well. I can get a similar deal with Miele if I buy the bulk performance pack and an extra filter once a year on a sale day, like Black Friday. I haven’t had issues finding parts for my Miele. You can buy most of them online, as you can with Sebo. Some of the Miele parts are considerably more expensive than the comparable Sebo part. Sebo vacs are generally a little less expensive to repair. At the end to the day, each model and brand has its pros and cons. If I was using my vacuum for extended periods on a daily basis, I would probably force myself to use a Sebo instead, but I don’t. Sebo (commercial brand) motors are engineered to last 2,000 hours, whereas Miele (residential brand) motors are engineered to last 1,000 hours, at least the motors in the corded canisters and uprights. With normal residential use, the Miele motor can last 15 - 20 years which is more than sufficient for me. Both are quality brands, but I prioritize ease-of-use and cleaning / filtration performance between the two.

Moood79

One more question, do you prefer the canister or upright?

actionvac-Box2165

Sweet, the new colors are selling well for me

Kreug69

What new colors?

actionvac-Box2165

Pastel blue and mint

candyforlunch

oh come fucking on i just got a white e3 last month (pastel blue and mint are my favorite colors)

TransistorSmash

Enjoy. Sebo is making a great solid product and backing it up with their warranty.

elvisprezlea

Can’t beat that warranty for sure

No-Replacement-2450

I don't live anywhere near Utah and have heard good things about Clint and his shop. And BTW, congratulations on a great vacuum.

elvisprezlea

Thank you! I also don’t live anywhere near Provo, but shipping was super fast

usernameemma

This is the vacuum I’m considering, would you mind giving me a good solid review of how you’re liking it? Are there any issues? Anything it struggles with? Since it’s at the top of my budget I wanted to be sure, but I’m having trouble finding many reviews online.

elvisprezlea

I haven’t used any other comparable vacuums so for me it’s just a huge upgrade. The only struggle I have is getting used to using a canister as opposed to an upright, like just the bulkiness of carrying around a canister and the wand, dragging it around while cleaning, having to move it to get around it to clean. But I think that’s more of a muscle memory thing that I’ll just get used to. Other than that, no complaints. I love the hidden compartments for the crevice tool and upholstery brush. The suction is incredible. I struggled to find reviews for it as well as it seems the K series is more commonly recommended/used, but I knew the upgrades from the K to the E series were worth it for me so I just went for it. The E3 was definitely out of my budget, I couldn’t justify spending over $1000 on a vacuum. Especially considering everyone said that you really need the premium parquet brush to make the most of it. But like I said, the guy I called was able to give me a great deal that made it financially feasible to go for it. So if it’s at the top of your budget, I would give him a call and it might make your decision easier.

usernameemma

That’s very helpful information, I’ll look into it! How easy is it to empty out?

elvisprezlea

I haven’t had to empty it yes but it seems easy enough. Bag pops out and pops right back in, and to my knowledge the door won’t close if the bag isn’t seated properly which helps fool proof it a bit. I plan to watch a YouTube video when I need to do it!

usernameemma

Okay, thanks!

Esher127

I bought an E3 about 3 months ago. My previous vacuum was a Shark Apex that lasted me 6 years. First I have to also shout out to Clint at The Vacuum Doctor. He was super helpful and gave me an awesome price when my local vacuum store (who is a authorized Sebo dealer) couldn't be bothered to order me one after waiting a month for them to do it. As for my struggles... it hasn't been perfect. It was basically incompatible with my carpet out of the box and I had to order a soft roller for it. More cost on an already expensive vacuum was a bummer. The wand loves to fall over on carpet, even if I lower the extension part and it's somewhat infuriating. I bought the nicer parquet tool for hard floors and it won't stand up with that at all. Getting the ET-1 powerhead off of the wand is a wrestling match every time. The deluxe parquet tool comes on and off easily, but the ET-1 is such a fight that my wife won't bother. The most troubling thing is that it sometimes cuts off for a split second while vacuuming. I can't make it do it, it's totally random, but it has me worried that something is wrong with the power cord inside the hose. I'm grateful for the excellent warranty, but it's an 1.5 hour drive to a vacuum store that's decent if it turns out that it needs service. On the bright side it does clean the carpet in my home better than my Shark, and above floor cleaning is way easier than the Shark. My son's eczema has vanished and I really think it's because of the Sebo. (He's a baby who just started crawling, spending a lot of time in the carpet) That alone was worth the purchase for me. Hard floor cleaning is about the same. I was worried about going to bags and that hasn't been an issue as I'm still on the first one. I was also worried about using a cannister but that hasn't been an issue either. Despite the negatives I'm still mostly happy with it, and my hope is that it last a long time. Right to repair is an important thing with me and Sebo is amazing about that (every part is labeled in the manual) But it certainly isn't without its quirks.

elvisprezlea

So I was having the same issue trying to get the power head off, and then I used it a few more times and the head came right off with no issue. I went to use it again and it was sticking, I was pulling, and then it gave and flew out of my hand, smashed to the ground face down and it snapped off the compression tab on the front of the power head neck. I texted Clint and told him what happened and he gave me a call and is going to send me a new power head, but he also said it was strange because usually the power head slides right off with no issue and he seemed concerned that it was giving me so much trouble and said he was going to ask SEBO about it and they may even send me a whole new wand. So since you used Clint, too, it may be worth letting him know you’re also struggling with getting the head off.

grandcherokee2

I’m glad to see they have an on/off switch at the handle now. I just wish the hose was not so tapered, to make it more manageable to handle. Other than that it is a fantastic canister. By the way, if you ever get a carpet or rug requiring straight suction only cleaning or a delicate power nozzle, Sebo sells a “soft” brush roll for those applications. Some carpet types require it, but they also tend to require lower suction and adjustable carpet height, which this machine already has. Those features make it very versatile and allow it to clean a broader array of surfaces than ordinary vacuums.

elvisprezlea

Thanks for this! That may help in the future, for sure

OkAlbatross9267

I have sebo et-2. How does it compare to et1?

Complete_Bike_7493

The ET-2 is a sebo subpart which is the electric nozzle.  It's pretty much the same head as the ET-1 with just a wider path, so a 15" vs the standard 12".  It can be a better option for large commercial spaces or when building  a central vac kit.    If you meant you have the E2, well it's a canister vacuum without an electric nozzle (et-1) and usually packaged with an air driven turbo brush.  It lacks the wiring to make it work with an electric nozzle and thus cheaper option to the E3 and best suited for households with mostly hard flooring and occasional pile rugs or small amounts of carpet

Blushresp7

what kind of deal did they give you?

elvisprezlea

I’m not 100% sure if he wants it publicly posted since it’s kind of a gray area for them to sell below typical retail value but feel free to PM me!
