This was going to be my response but I didn’t expect it to ever happen as they’re in the east coast of the US. How do you know it’s in the cards?? This would be un-fucking-real
They’ve made their way west in recent years; there are quite a few locations in the Seattle area now, which is how I get my fix. [Per this press release,](https://investor.shakeshack.com/press-releases/press-release-details/2023/The-Great-White-North-Just-Got-Greater-Shake-Shack-Is-Headed-to-Canada/default.aspx) they’re opening 35 Canadian locations over the next ten years; simple math tells me that this almost guarantees that we will get a location.
I too mind l miss Nando's. :( such a better option than greasy fried chicken places. Loved the peri rice and minty peas.
We try to recreate a Nando's night at home one a week in the summer.
They only have locations certain distance from distribution centres, so the burgers are fresh and up to standard. Vancouver is a future maybe if it were to come to Canada, based on if they were to open a distribution centre in WA for Seattle, Tacoma, Idaho, and Portland.
Victoria would be in distance. But not likely, seeing how other big chains aren’t here but in Vancouver. We don’t have a Taco Bell.
I will never understand how it's possible that we don't have one yet. Especially given how popular Mexican food has gotten here, and the only Fast Food Mexican we have is fucking Taco Time. It's tragic and I won't stand for it.
How does this not have like a thousand up votes?
Every time I take a road trip to the States (visiting family) Taco Bell is the *only* option I'll even consider eating on the way. Mainly because we don't have one, not a single one!
Well if I had a choice I would take M&S. Was in London last summer and the prices at Pret have gone through the roof. No longer value for money. M&S has an excellent selection of sandwiches and salads and have managed to keep their prices down. Love the tuna and sweetcorn sandwich. I practically lived off of M&S when I visited.
Pret’s tomato soup is good, but pretty sure it was over £5 for a pot though. UK media has been reporting what a disgrace their prices have become.
Wow I've started something here haha. I hope we find these suggestions interesting to read. For those of you curious I'd vote Taco Bell. Have a great day y'all.
Apparently there’s a Malaysian restaurant chain called PappaRich and they do roti canai and beef rendang and that is my vote despite never having eaten there.
Or Congee Queen!!!!! Or Asian Legend. Yum.
So many restaurants in the east: Swiss Chalet (may not be everyone’s cup of tea but a staple rotisserie chicken dinner place, we don’t have one anymore), st Hubert’s, les 3 brassieres, jollibee
Oh wow, nice one!
I first went to the original Me n Ed’s in Coquitlam back on 1989 when a friend was working there, and was introduced to their cracker crust pizza. Years later I ended up in Burnaby and would get delivery or eat in at their restaurant down Kingsway towards New West. My last Me n Ed’s was in Abbotsford in 2013. Unique pizza, would love to see it on the island.
I hate that the only opportunity to buy them is from a bunch of kids randomly standing outside of a grocery store. I've never had cash and always wanted a box.
An IKEA cafeteria. (I just want an IKEA on the Island).
😂 I came here to say this… not a restaurant in the typical sense but darn those Swedish meatballs are good!
[удалено]
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…it was a mini IKEA, so cute…but 30 years later, I think we’re finally ready for a grown up one.
I'll never not miss Fudruckers... 😔
Saskatoon.
It’s apparently in the cards as part of their upcoming Canadian expansion but Shake Shack would be rad.
They opened in Toronto this year I believe as their maiden voyage to the north. For chain fast food, it's really good. . . Ditto for In n Out Burger.
Yessssss

i miss nandos. bring nandos back
yes please
Absolutely, i was at Nandos min once a week
I too mind l miss Nando's. :( such a better option than greasy fried chicken places. Loved the peri rice and minty peas. We try to recreate a Nando's night at home one a week in the summer.
In & Out
Pipe dream, unfortunately
They only have locations certain distance from distribution centres, so the burgers are fresh and up to standard. Harvey’s hamburgers
This one still boggles my mind, I don't get why the franchise just ends in Alberta. R.I.P. old Home Depot location.
There used to be one on Douglas where Tim Hortons is and Swiss Chalet used to be.
Dang ngl this unlocked a REALLY old memory of mine, do you happen to know when the business shut down at this location?
Early 2000's. Then the Swiss Chalet held on for a few more years
I miss Harvey's so much. They used to have one sad one in the Langford home depot for a while but it was no substitute for a real Harvey's
We had 2. One inside the West shore Home Depot. The other where the Timmies is on Blanshard near Uptown. Both gone sadly.
Taco Bell
I will never understand how it's possible that we don't have one yet. Especially given how popular Mexican food has gotten here, and the only Fast Food Mexican we have is fucking Taco Time. It's tragic and I won't stand for it.
Victoria did have a KFC/Taco Bell combo restaurant years and years ago where the Circle K is now on Douglas and Yates. It seemed busy enough.
I guess over 12 years ago?
Yeah. Early 2000s.
This. End of thread.
How does this not have like a thousand up votes? Every time I take a road trip to the States (visiting family) Taco Bell is the *only* option I'll even consider eating on the way. Mainly because we don't have one, not a single one!
It's worth the drive to Nanaimo for Taco Bell. A day with out Taco Bell in Nanaimo is a day not worth being in Nanaimo
the one in Nanaimo is for Taco Bell extremists only, it's not a good Taco Bell :(
It blows my mind no one has opened one.
Taco Bell with the full menu would be ideal, for some reason the locations we do have in bc have a stripped down menu and no breakfast options.
Greggs
The city is fairly British, Greggs makes sense.
Ah my God I miss their bacon buttys. I know it's a bun, butter, and bacon, but it's never the same! Steak Bakes! Festive bake! Custard slice! Ughhhh
I would do almost anything for one of their cranberry turkey brie baguettes
Omfg yessssssss
I would pay good money for a Greggs sausage roll
A UK favourite! Well, a Northern favourite…
Perhaps not a chain, but I just want Pig back. In fact, I *need* it back.
Wish I could upvote this more than once
It’s been 7 or 8 years and I’m still not over this.
King of Donair
Remembering my steak fast food days; Ponderosa/Bonanza
The Bonanza salad bar was mint!!!
Outback would do.
They we're here, but they've pulled out of almost all of Canada. Not paying staff, not the same quality as the US.
From the UK (but it will never happen as market too small): Pret a Manger (A&W has partnered with Pret in Van), Leon.
Pret does not hold a flame to M&S
Well if I had a choice I would take M&S. Was in London last summer and the prices at Pret have gone through the roof. No longer value for money. M&S has an excellent selection of sandwiches and salads and have managed to keep their prices down. Love the tuna and sweetcorn sandwich. I practically lived off of M&S when I visited. Pret’s tomato soup is good, but pretty sure it was over £5 for a pot though. UK media has been reporting what a disgrace their prices have become.
There are 3 Pret in Vancouver! We could totally get one! If we want Pret and Leon, PAUL wouldn't go amiss either!
There is a Paul on Robson St in Van! Yes, Paul would be welcome.
Arby’s, In & Out, Swiss Chalet, St Louis Bar & Grill.
I want an Arby's so bad, but I will eat way too many beef and cheddars!
We had an Arby's at Mayfair mall. It obviously wasn't popular enough to stay open
I'm so hungry I could eat at Arby's.
I did like their curly fries.
It’s not about how busy something is. It’s the malls predatory lease agreements. It’s not just rent, the more money you make the more they take.
Zero Swiss Chalets in BC with the closing of the final one in Burnaby. The Victoria location had some killer sales for a long time.
I’m visiting Ontario rn and I have to go to Swiss Chalet every time *crying emoji *
Swiss Chalet and Harveys are my must-go places when I visit Ontario. Popeye's Chicken used to be on that list until we got a couple locations.
Golden Corral Half joking and half drooling. Victoria needs more of those Southern waist-sizes.
5 guys and fries!
They are good but a meal is now $25
That's a tragedy but I'm not surprised. I think it's been 6-7 years since I've been to one.
Yeah to me burger wheel is similar if not bettter
Burger wheel is way better!!
BURGER WHEEL!!! 🍔 🛞
Burger Wheel? 😂
Yeah okay big wheel burger.

No breadsticks?
You’re absolutely right, breadsticks too
White castle
Olive Garden
Red lobster.
Wow I've started something here haha. I hope we find these suggestions interesting to read. For those of you curious I'd vote Taco Bell. Have a great day y'all.
Nandos please
Apparently there’s a Malaysian restaurant chain called PappaRich and they do roti canai and beef rendang and that is my vote despite never having eaten there. Or Congee Queen!!!!! Or Asian Legend. Yum.
Jollibee
Max’s!!
Both, please!
So many restaurants in the east: Swiss Chalet (may not be everyone’s cup of tea but a staple rotisserie chicken dinner place, we don’t have one anymore), st Hubert’s, les 3 brassieres, jollibee
Another vote for Swiss Chalet
Vote #3 checking in.
There used to be a Swiss Chalet here only a few years ago. I found the food quality went way downhill over the years, and then it closed.
Triple O's. Great burgers, way cheaper than White Spot.
Have one in Duncan and it’s starting to get up there in price
Didn't know that. Will have to put it on the to-do list when we go to Jysk.
It’s Up by Walmart
it's always my go-to stop when I'm headed up-island!
Subcity Donair (I just really like their fries okay)

Me n Eds pizza
Oh wow, nice one! I first went to the original Me n Ed’s in Coquitlam back on 1989 when a friend was working there, and was introduced to their cracker crust pizza. Years later I ended up in Burnaby and would get delivery or eat in at their restaurant down Kingsway towards New West. My last Me n Ed’s was in Abbotsford in 2013. Unique pizza, would love to see it on the island.
Ohhhh yeah I regularly visit Me n Eds whenever I'm on the mainland, their pizza is so good.
5 guys!
Chick fil a
I always go for Chick-Fil-A when I visit the States.
Red Lobster, or bring back the Cheesecake Factory (but not where Frankie’s is cuz that place slays).
One and only answer is Taco Bell
Mr. Sub. Really miss that place.
Every time we m in Vancouver I make sure I hit up Mr Sub. Dunno what’s in their mayo but it might as well be crack as far as I’m concerned
King of Donair with REAL Halifax style donairs!
I want garlic fingers and a donair sooo bad! They should also sell Olands in there as well.
In and Out
Chipotle...shares are very tasty..hit over 3K past week!
Jollibee
I fully agree. I tried Jollibee the last time I was in Vancouver and I loved it. Their peach and mango pies are the best
Pretty sure there is one coming, I swear I read an article about one coming here in the lasts couple months.
Swiss Chalet. RIP 😢
🙏
I want Meat and Bread back.
Krispy Kreme
I hate that the only opportunity to buy them is from a bunch of kids randomly standing outside of a grocery store. I've never had cash and always wanted a box.
Carl's Jr
Bring back Fuddruckers!
St.Hubert
Bojangles, din fai tung, Salad King, Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles
Din Tai Fung is amazing!!!
Cinnabon!
Harvey’s
Nebraska icon RUNZA
Chipotle
Breka bakery/cafe from vancouver!
This would do so well if it were near the university or camosun. 24 hrs, really good coffee and baked goods. Perfect. 🤌🤌
It's not a chain, but I wish Fern and Cedar from Parksville would open a spot in Victoria.
give me red lobster or give me nothing
I really miss naanwich! I think it must be entirely gone though.
I want an A+ halal cart. At least something like Mr Shawarma in Vancouver.
Jersey Mike's
Five guys
Jinya
Dumb opinion but Dunkin Donuts I'm sorry
In and out, firehouse subs, jersey mikes, Harvey’s, five guys, chipotle… should I continue?

ichiran, wingstop, crumbl
Proper butcher with fresh sandwiches
Quiznos last stand seems to be vancouver. Wouldn't mind them here
Padmanadi's from Edmonton. UNREAL vegan food. We take nonvegan friends there when we are in Edmonton and everyone loves it.
Costco Hotdogs!
Just a stand or place that sells the hotdogs so you don’t have to go all the way to Langford.
As long as they have the poutine too.
Yes!
