The odds are somewhere between 0% and 100%.

Squatted? I doubt it. They're not getting their own book again. They're almost assuredly going to stay in the Aeldari codex.

Anggul

Almost certainly not going to happen. They're entwined with a lot of stuff, even in some of the latest lore. There are hints that Cegorach and Sylandri Veilwalker are pulling a lot more strings than we might think.

QueenRangerSlayer

Being in the lore means nothing.

Anggul

Being in the lore in general means nothing, for sure. As an AoS player I know that very well. But they've woven Harlequins so heavily into the lore that it suggests they have no plans or desire to remove them.

SoulBlightRaveLords

No one can say honestly. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say they won't. We've just had massive culls happen I doubt they'd do that again any time soon so if they did you'd at least get a bit of time out of them They seem to be getting rid of resin stuff so any old characters are likely to get axed, everything else might be OK Obviously though I've based this on absolutely nothing but speculation

MLantto

My guess is that they'll stay part of the eldar codex, but get their own detachment focused a bit more on their strengths. Imo harlequins with some support units from eldar make a better army on the tabletop anyways (not talking lore here). The old harlequin armies were a bit too much copy/paste for my taste.

Darnok83

Them having their own book was always odd, given how small the range was. Doing a Harlequin themed army - using other units from the codex on top of actual Harlequins, all in a somewhat cohesive scheme - makes more sense both visually and on teh tabletop.

Pretend-Adeptness937

Yeah they seem to have had a thing with doing half army books at that time, obviously harlequins but skittari and cult mechanics where 2 separate books and for AoS there was just the pestilence skaven stuff and ironjaws on their own

SumpAcrocanth

I think you're more likely to see them get rolled into a larger eldar codex is removed from production.

Squidmaster616

That already happened last edition.

SumpAcrocanth

Well then I expect that to continue ;P

hypershrew

They’ll be fine I think. They will likely just be a detachment in the Aeldari codex.

Darnok83

I'd say the propability for that is above zero, but very, very low. Harlequins are popular models. Cutting them would make little to no sense at all.

RRZ006

Weren’t Stormcast Eternals very popular? No idea what the full context of that one is though.

Hellburgs

If I had to guess, oversaturation of the line. My guess is that several of those stormcast will come back with resculpts like the liberators. I think some of the heroes will probably get simplified like space marine lieutenants and librarians (no longer firstborn vs primaris) but time will tell. I don't think harlequins are going away, probably just staying as part of the main eldar codex. Hopefully they'll get a detachment that utilizes them, as that seems to be the trend this edition (thematic detachments vs bespoke army rules).

Chipperz1

A lot of the older stuff, like the Liberators, are getting redesigned to make them look more in line with later Stormcast sculpts - they're still in the game, the old models have just been discontinued. The Sacrosanct Chamber models were a weird half stage between the Liberator and Thunderstrike Armour and, if we're being honest, were basically just more "burly dude with hammer and shield". They can absolutely be played as other Stormcast and I don't think most people would notice. And I say this as someone who went in hard on the Sacrosanct 🤣

Ardonis84

Harlequins probably won’t get their own codex, if that’s what you mean, but the units themselves probably aren’t going away and should be usable in the new codex, whenever it shows up.

They only seem to be squatting fine cast and resin models so harlequins will stay they only got rid of half the stormcast which was new plastic because the range was way too big and they're selling aswell as they'd hope (they assumed it would be the same as spacemarine) if it's in plastic 99% sure it'll stay

egewithin2

They will be a tiny detahcment in Eldar codex, that's it. Their models are still too new to be deleted from 40k But after what they have done to Custodes codex, I am not even sure about a detachment.
