I mean, it’s just assimilating to the Japanese culture and bowing as a sign of respect.

derped_osean

"Oh look a penny!"

Fidelias_Palm

Face down ass up is *not* recommended landing procedure it would seem.

ThawtPolice

That’ll be pricey

RexiLabs

I just hope it can be fixed, f-22s are an endangered species, stuff like this speeds up their demise.

Sea_Perspective6891

At the very least they can probably use it for spare parts for other F-22s.

RexiLabs

Yeah probably so, speaking of which, it reminds me of Iran and their f-14s, it amazes me they have any left running at this point.... But I guess they do prove that cannibalizing some to save the others does work for weirdly long periods of time.

FrEINkEINstEIN

They just got blown up lmao

RexiLabs

lol, I haven't caught up on the news today, I knew there was a strike but I didn't know of what, so f-14's got hit I guess? I feel like that would hit Iran the hardest, because they have such old planes they are desperately trying to keep around so everyone you destroy is a major blow.

miaad

Face down ass up

BigBoiz_SaiGon

F-22s & F-35s biggest threat : The base.

Whereishumhum-

Probably had one too many cups of sake on the night out huh

AdorableBowl7863

Gonna need a tow back to atlanta

Thelifeofnerfingwolf

That's expensive.

MrPhxIt

That’ll buff right out

LoupGarouHikaru56

Raptor really likes showing off those afterburners don't they?

Kryosleeper

Switching into this post from a dashcam compilation was... Interesting. "Let me guess, dude was flying down the road, right?"

shredwig

Look how they massacred my boy

HeroMachineMan

I am guessing the plane was just taxiing, and the landing gear "malfunctioned". Lucky the gear didn't malfunction during hi speed landing or taking-off.

Wooper160

Oops! That’s not supposed to happen

SpaceTortuga

DUDE IT'S THAT A TACTICAL CAMOUFLAGE FORKLIFT!!!

Bobisnotmybrother

This is listed as a common problem

fmate2006

oof that's a few million in repaints 😬😬😬

Alexdykes828

With the way the back fins are folded, it looks like Starscream started transforming then collapsed dead

IPeedOnTrumpAMA

Me in DCS. Though to be honest it's the damn F-15c that I apparently can't land without blowing the tires. At least with the F-22 I can touch down like a butterfly with sore feet, except not being very "mil-sim".

sharkbit11

Nooooo! Not the kid! He already has a bruise and it wasn't even intercepting someone :(

coldblade2000

No way no one has made a lewd of it yet.

redditusername0002

r/thatlookedexpensive

7wiseman7

expensive!

SFerrin_RW

Ouch. Cha-ching.

Phosphorus444

Another one?

STFUCocomelon

Most expensive paint scratch

Grimmisgod123

submissive

GadenKerensky

Don't let NCD see this.

Apprehensive-Aide-44

"Intercept me". That what the 22 was dreaming about, and he nose dived in his sleep.

Purple_Spino

rly purring the porn in warplane porn huh?

Reverse_Psycho_1509

It's just doing a customary bow

clsv6262

"Duuuuude... Benson's so gonna fire us...."

DezrathNLR

Hot young (F22) athlete face down, ass up, surrounded by strangers.

mackieman182

But for all that effort it's difficult to find it, let alone shoot it down

BroodLol

There are no production lines for the F22, same for parts (and iirc it doesn't have much part commonality with any other aircraft), so any damaged airframes are probably gone for good. If this F22 can be repaired, it'll be done using parts from another (probably older) F22. It's likely that the aircraft will be written off and used as a donor for other F22s. The F35 exists because the F22 was astronomically expensive to produce, maintain and operate, and couldn't be sold to allied countries. The general consensus is that the F22 is the better jet, but the F35 has better datalinks and the USAF have decided that big data will be the most important part of the next conflict.

Tinfoil hat big brain moment.

Scrungyscrotum

350 million dollars and it can't even plop down a wheel.

poopiwoopi1

350 million dollars and nobody dares flying their bombers over the US? Sign my tax dollars up.

swingforthefence69

Lockheed can take my money any day

_spec_tre

literally every single jet has a fuck up like this once in a while.

An A380 or B777 is a lot more expensive than an F-22, it still happens even with good regular maintenance.

Sandgroper62

I wish they'd re-open the production line for the F22 F35 doesn't quite cut-it.

witchcapture

The F-22 is pretty long in the tooth now. It was designed in the 80s and refined in the early 90s. Avionics in particular are quite inferior to the F-35. The NGAD program is developing a whole new aircraft to replace it, that is a better use of taxpayer dollars than reopening the F-22 production line.

FBI_Diversity_Hire

B8? I could t8k it or leave it
