This is pretty new there is still plenty of time for them to announce a second season, not that it’s guaranteed but it isn’t out of the question. The aired it on so many platforms it’s too bad they had the production issues because that really hurt the momentum.
Tbh, I thought it was funny, but I dropped it because it isn't the type of zombie thing I was looking for, I didn't like how they didn't take this seriously, I know it's supposed to be that way, but after they shrugged off the deaths of potential love interests or something for laughs, I quit
Yeah after the shark I kind of stopped watching. I want to finish it but it's just kind of irritating to watch and I hate saying that because it's so beautiful, I love the art style in the animation. But the plot...
Yeah because I actually laughed at it and it was pretty funny but the next episode was where I technically stopped. And the end of that episode (the shark one) was weird kind of hit me that I was not going to like it as much.
These shows violated me. I watched them when I started anime and just googled stuff like "[show name] Episode 1" and then started watching. They got me so bad when I searched for the second season and found out there ain't one and the show is 8+ years old
LITERALLY what happened to me when I binged Snow White this past week. I watched it on Crunchyroll in like 3 days, loved it. I thought it was a new show. Then I immediately got heartbroken when I looked it up...
Yona... oh, Yona. I watched that series sooo long ago, and I've just been hopelessly waiting for a S2 announcement. I know the manga goes on way past the anime, but dammit. I love Christopher Sabat's voice.
Deadman Wonderland was one of the earlier anime I watched, and I got trolled hard by that. I had innocently assumed that shows were finished, like movies.
More recently, Talentless Nana and Land of the Lustrous, two shows that both still have tons of space for a S2, and both are unlikely for different reasons. :(
for yona of the dawn the manga is online for free is has about 260 chapters out right now i would highly recommend reading it because it’s not guaranteed that it will get a full anime adaptation. same for no game no life, you can order the light novels off amazon just make sure they’re in english
I don’t think so. I think the animation company wouldn’t be able to continue the anime due to copyright issues with drawings or animations, also characters and what not.
Edit: I meant to say author - https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/6629-ngnl-author-caught-tracing/
The ending of season one fucked things up, though.
It was pretty 1:1 until literally the last episode where they skipped nearly half of the (then available) source material for cliffhanger's sake
There is no season 2 because the people in charge of the anime butchered the already established and finished storyline so badly they couldn't fix it. IT would be better to completely reboot the entire series. Which who is going to fund a reboot/remake of a series that didn't even last 1 full season despite its popularity?
Long story short there's a character in season 2 in the manga that basically becomes the second most important character and possible love interest. She arrives to save the main character and he remembers her from the first day right before they did the obsticle course. The anime people cut her from season 1 because they didn't read the manga and thought she was just there for a random conversation. Lots of other reasons but a main character being cut was a big reason for it.
Probably an unpopular opinion; I honestly think the part of the manga that got adapted is the only part of the manga that isn't dog shit. It takes a real nosedive in quality.
As someone who always wants more of a D&D anime (not a fantasy mmo anime) Grimgar was peak! So sad it was just created for content and left alone due to pandemic
Grimgar LN kinda loses track of what made it special, instead focusing on worldbuilding. It's not necessarily bad, but the low stakes made me lose interest.
I still think fondly of Grimgar to this day. If I were a rich man, I would personally fund a new season easily. The slow character and team building was so rewarding to watch.
I felt Cyberpunk wrapped itself up really well.
Not that they couldn't revisit that world for other stories.
But that story was definitely told and wrapped up.
Corporate espionage would be a good story.
Someone who is high up and, after a betrayal, ultimately replaces some big bad through tricks and schemes, slowly going from good to bad in process.
Fr like the ending is so lame, thought in a way it's also good, I like that for once the anime just follows the story and happens as it would make sense with no crazy plot twist or entire change of events, it's pretty straightforward if you compare it to almost all other animes that just have entire story changes.
It crushed me when I realized that Trigger were just never going to continue that story, and that is effectively how it is with most of their stuff. Still, glad Delicious in Dungeon seems to be given space to tell its story.
At least with Bocchi, there's a very good chance that season 2 is probably coming lol.
Since Frieren is done for now (the same director worked on both shows btw) & especially them doing recap movies, that means we'll probably get a teaser or something at the end of the 2nd recap movie.
My brain goes back and forth between wanting the co creator to allow a new writer in on HOTD to continue it to completion and thinking it would disrespectful to daisuke Sato to do that😭
It really could have been. It always made me so mad that there is technically enough manga that wasn’t put into season 1 for season 2, but it’s understandable that they didn’t want to go through with it when there’s no chance the writers could make more manga😭 it may have a bunch of fan service which lots don’t like, but, to this day, there is not another just straightforward, non comedic, serious zombie apocalypse anime like it which would cause LOTS of people to ignore the fan service to watch it.
Here I was thinking I was the only person who liked tomodachi game. I watched it when it aired and I don't remember it being well received at all. I get that it's edgy, but I've always thought death game anime were fun, idk.
I'm pretty sure it's bc the Anime stopped working off the Manga about halfway through Season 1, so Season 2 goes back to where the Anime drifted off and continues from the Manga again. Pretty sure it's just bc the Manga was behind or something.
Technically 13 episodes, but I just finished Cells at Work: CODE BLACK, and >!it was really satisfying until they added a post-credit scene shitting all over the bittersweet happy ending they'd built up. I get that it was like that in the manga, but it also *contained after that*. They couldn't have left it with a happy ending and left that part for a hypothetical season 2?!<
I enjoyed it overall. But that one single scene at the end probably brought down the score a whole point or so. I'd still think the original series is better, but it would have been close otherwise.
Grimgar too. Still an underrated anime tbh. The plot is good, the characters are great and it has SO MUCH potential. I want the lore, the story behind how and why they came there.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead
You just like me fr
Don’t jinx it bro
This is pretty new there is still plenty of time for them to announce a second season, not that it’s guaranteed but it isn’t out of the question. The aired it on so many platforms it’s too bad they had the production issues because that really hurt the momentum.
nah that shit fell off hard. first couple episodes were amazing, especially the pilot. then it got pretty boring and went downhill in writing quality
I loved it all the way through, though I respect your opinion
Tell the people on the one piece community this is how you should act when you and someone don’t agree on something
Tbh, I thought it was funny, but I dropped it because it isn't the type of zombie thing I was looking for, I didn't like how they didn't take this seriously, I know it's supposed to be that way, but after they shrugged off the deaths of potential love interests or something for laughs, I quit
yeah to each their own! i heard the manga was better in that regards, maybe check it out
thx
Yeah after the shark I kind of stopped watching. I want to finish it but it's just kind of irritating to watch and I hate saying that because it's so beautiful, I love the art style in the animation. But the plot...
yeah it doesn’t get better lol. if anything, the shark episode was a highlight of the show compared to everything that followed
Yeah because I actually laughed at it and it was pretty funny but the next episode was where I technically stopped. And the end of that episode (the shark one) was weird kind of hit me that I was not going to like it as much.
Agree, even if I still enjoyed the whole show.
You too huh? Thought it was just me. I didn’t like it after 4 episodes
I think the delays really ruined it for me didn’t even finish
Nah it was great whole way through
I liked the whole time too
No Game No Life, Yona of the Dawn, Yamada-Kun Lvl 999, and Snow White with the Red Hair
I know the manga goes on way past the anime, but dammit. I love Christopher Sabat's voice.
I remember watching that show like a decade ago. That and No Game No life. And the wait... and wait... and wait...

I think ngnl has hope a while back I heard the manga was getting continued.
I don’t think so. I think the animation company wouldn’t be able to continue the anime due to copyright issues with drawings or animations, also characters and what not. Edit: I meant to say author - https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/6629-ngnl-author-caught-tracing/
I've been hearing that for a while though 🥺
Keep coping bud
Man I was so mad about how there was no season two for ngnl 😭
Esp after I read it and hyped myself for season 2 only for my happiness to slowly fade as time passed
The ending of season one fucked things up, though. It was pretty 1:1 until literally the last episode where they skipped nearly half of the (then available) source material for cliffhanger's sake
Still would like a season 2
Doesn't snow white have 24ep?
Yeah but just the one season on Crunchyroll. Same thing with Yona. I was just listing shows with one season that left me truly wanting more.
I was so eager to watch a second season of No game No life and then... received NOTHING, still waiting for it...
I loved Game No Life I wish some company with disposable income would hire people to make an entire manga into an anime and say f the system.
Great now I don’t want watch No Game No Life
Yamada kun and the seven witches?
My Love Story with Yamada-Kun at Lvl999 I got too lazy to type the whole thing lol
Deadman Wonderland
wait... the show was supposed to have more episodes????
The manga is way longer , the show misses a whole bunch from that one season crunched out of 1
I watched it when I was younger so I guess I missed it.
I heard rumors that there is no season 2 because the creator passed away. But that is just rumors, so I don't know for sure
There is no season 2 because the people in charge of the anime butchered the already established and finished storyline so badly they couldn't fix it. IT would be better to completely reboot the entire series. Which who is going to fund a reboot/remake of a series that didn't even last 1 full season despite its popularity?
I knew nothing of the source material but I enjoyed the show, although if a reboot is possible then I'm all for it.
There’s no season 2 because the animation studio kept putting out dogshit and ran out of funds I thought
Ah I see. I dont know the source material, but I think a reboot would be fun
I will raise the funds sir! 🫡
Wow that's actually pretty fucked. It's such a good story too so it definitely deserves a good adaptation.
Needs a reboot then, simple
Hell yeah. The fights are some of the best in manga history imo. Old man vs weird man baby was sick
I heard it didn't do well in Japan. So no second season
The manga was amazing so was hyped for the anime…. Then this
Starting the manga over and then reading through the whole thing was 100% worth it
Thank you. I almost forgot about this show.
It's one of my favorite manga, then I heard about the anime and was so pumped, only for it to be kinda ass
Glad I mentioned this one, liked the anime but never read it. This thread makes me want to read it now
Yeah I gotta read the manga one day. They gotta reboot this not trigun lol
Probably an unpopular opinion; I honestly think the part of the manga that got adapted is the only part of the manga that isn't dog shit. It takes a real nosedive in quality.
No game no life. Actually insane there’s a prequel movie and no season 2.
Exactly
...There's a fucking movie??
Yuup and it adapted the volumes.
Yes, sir. Hahahaha. It's really good.
I found the show mid at best, very weird. The movie tho, holy shit. Its really freaking good.
atp just reas the light novels it’s been 10 years😭
High rise invasion, Darwin's Game, Rokka, Grimgar
Darwins game was hella cool
I loved it, it was great
It was goated, never expected the ending.
Absolutely that anime when it came out made me excited for a new episode each week
Wait, no high rise?! 😭 Netflix needs to put warnings fr “NO SEASON 2 COMING **EVER**!”
Ikr? These days I don't start watching a show until a season 2 is announced
As someone who always wants more of a D&D anime (not a fantasy mmo anime) Grimgar was peak! So sad it was just created for content and left alone due to pandemic
Grimgar hurts, imo one of the best isekai anime
Grimgar!!!
GRIMGAR
Rokka! My Ningen you got some taste.
We have a taste for animes that dont get renewed and mangas that go on hiatus indefinitely hehe
HxH 😭
I wanted to check out Darwin's Game, but now Idk if it's mentioned on this thread. 😅
I loved High Rise Invasion and Darwin's game 😭😭
Grimgar LN kinda loses track of what made it special, instead focusing on worldbuilding. It's not necessarily bad, but the low stakes made me lose interest.
I still think fondly of Grimgar to this day. If I were a rich man, I would personally fund a new season easily. The slow character and team building was so rewarding to watch.
Cyberpunk edgerunners
I felt Cyberpunk wrapped itself up really well. Not that they couldn't revisit that world for other stories. But that story was definitely told and wrapped up.
Yeah but I love the world of cyberpunk so much its kinda disappointing
To be honest I’d love if it became a kind of anthology where each season covers a different untold story from Night city.
i could too
A season covering a new recruit joining MaxTac or the Medical Squad?? God that’d go so hard.
Corporate espionage would be a good story. Someone who is high up and, after a betrayal, ultimately replaces some big bad through tricks and schemes, slowly going from good to bad in process.
Agreed
Eh, doesn't need a S2. Ended exactly where it needed to imo.
Yeess
Promised Neverland (season 2 never happened, we don’t talk about it)
Came here to say that.
One of the best season 1’s I ever watched, such a shame it did not continue being as interesting.
Fr like the ending is so lame, thought in a way it's also good, I like that for once the anime just follows the story and happens as it would make sense with no crazy plot twist or entire change of events, it's pretty straightforward if you compare it to almost all other animes that just have entire story changes.
Nah.. season 2 was trash. They skipped a few amazing arcs and completely cut out multiple characters. The Manga was amazing tho
Season 2 never happened remember you silly Billy it got canceled
The manga actually had a lot of twist, I recommend reading it because it's nothing like the season 2
Season 2 never counts lol
r/BeatMeToIt
So, I guess you could say the promise never landed.
BNA
It crushed me when I realized that Trigger were just never going to continue that story, and that is effectively how it is with most of their stuff. Still, glad Delicious in Dungeon seems to be given space to tell its story.
That’s cool. Just saddens me that it could have been better but I still love BNA for that was my very first anime I have seen by TRIGGER.
Thankfully we getting more delicious in dungeon
Is there ever going to be a second season for that?
I like the anime but tbh there most likely won’t be a season two and I’m fine with that
Bocchi the Rock
At least with Bocchi, there's a very good chance that season 2 is probably coming lol. Since Frieren is done for now (the same director worked on both shows btw) & especially them doing recap movies, that means we'll probably get a teaser or something at the end of the 2nd recap movie.
One Punch man for many many years
season 3 is coming soon
We'll all be dead before soon T^T time to advertise all the shitty mobile phone games but no time for s3 smh
Wow.. season 2 is like 5 years old now, huh? Crazy time flies.
4 years between season 1 and 2
Highschool of the Dead. I think about the fact season 2 or any continuity ever will never happen all the time and get so disappointed
Same not even a manga comletion to satisfy the itch
My brain goes back and forth between wanting the co creator to allow a new writer in on HOTD to continue it to completion and thinking it would disrespectful to daisuke Sato to do that😭
It’s a shame they never were able to make the second season cause the show would have been even more of a cult classic imo
The one show I can safely say the fanservice actually took away from the story, I want more so bad
The wiseman’s grandson
Easily No Game No Life. I'm still coping for 10 years now.
That's only 7 years. The movie they released was canon and adapted the source material.
Yeah, still hoping since the day it was released.
Drifters. Come on Kouta Hirano. Hurry it up with the manga
It’s been around like 4 years since I checked on drifters and I think like 3 chapters have come out in that time it releases slower than made in abyss
There is at least one other guy who hopes for second season of drifters, totally underrated. FYI, the manga is only 2~3 episodes completed.
I've hoped for S2 for so long.
Beyond the Boundary is probably the biggest one for me.
kyoukai no kanata? thats beyond the boundary my friend
Sorry lol I fixed it. Was listening to a bunch of Bring Me The Horizon back in 2013 when Beyond the Boundary came out
extremely valid
there is a "season 2" in the form of a movie which I believe takes place after the series stops.
Ajin
I still hope one day season 2 will come😔
Ajin: Demi-Human, or a different show? I thought that had a season 2? Edit: never watched the show tho
I seen most of the first season. I just sort of forgot about it.
Tomodachi Game
Here I was thinking I was the only person who liked tomodachi game. I watched it when it aired and I don't remember it being well received at all. I get that it's edgy, but I've always thought death game anime were fun, idk.
The kingdom of ruin
Deadman Wonderland. Fucked me up even more when I learned why it ended how it did.
Too many to count.
Yeah for real...
Land of the lustrous
Blue exorcist except season 2 acts like half of season 1 never happened.
There are literally new seasons being released currently.
I'm pretty sure it's bc the Anime stopped working off the Manga about halfway through Season 1, so Season 2 goes back to where the Anime drifted off and continues from the Manga again. Pretty sure it's just bc the Manga was behind or something.
Because half of season one never did happen in the manga. Blue exorcist is peak tho

Cells at work period is peak code black was pretty good too.
Heavenly Delusion. It got, like, zero marketing that I'm aware of but it's genuinely great
Thanks Disney!
