As a news reporter you can't state an allegation as fact until the accused gets a chance at a fair trial. You can report case findings as fact, but have to acknowledge that the charges have not been proven yet. Ie. "Sally Teacherlady has been allegedy seen on CCTV soliciting another student, " not "Proven rapist Sally Teacherlady caught by CCTV." Some news sources are trashier than others in this regard. It may seem strange, but if you or a family member, or a friend, or even a community member are ever caught in an "innocent but accused of a crime" situation you WANT it like this.
