sllewgh

That one ice cream van with the creepy pictures of the guy's family on it. No one is smiling. Why aren't they smiling?

MotoSlashSix

“Hell-OHOOOO”

thatpsychnurse

I heard this in my soul

Missdanib

I haven’t talked about this truck in YEARS and just did yesterday.

Gercke

That's not his family. Those are the victims. Watch your surroundings lest you too be added to the truck. Gazing forever into the void, unsmiling.

juaninameelion

There are actually 5 Mr Tasty vans. That’s why it seems like he is everywhere all at once. HHELLLLOOO!!

sllewgh

For real? This honestly sounds plausible.

groovevault22

Yeah, there was a big event and I saw several together. Mr Tasty himself was even working one of them. Incredible experience

nonotsafestuff

He sets up every weekend during the day and into early evening at the roundabout in front of Pier 5 Hotel and without fail I can't get away from the soulless stare from all him and his offspring.

FortWendy69

And it’s the actual guy that drives the van is on the side of the van. So fucking weird.

EfficiencySuch6361

Even weirder bc he has like 3 vans

The_Wingless

Even weirder bc he drives all of them at the same time!

baltimoresalt

Right!

uncleslam7

Oh because they were beheaded

1017whywhywhy

Holy shit I saw it from at an angle so I didn’t see the faces. I kept looking back thinking “why the fuck are are group photos in the side of an ice cream truck” I kept think I was seeing it wrong cause of the glare lmao.

SnooBeans2565

Awwww I didn’t know the collective impression is that this truck is weird, I was waiting in line to get ice cream from his traveling family business but the police came and made him scurry off!

BeautifulMix7410

Lmao he parks near my job everyday. It’s hilarious. His other ice cream van is just another box truck that’s simply painted in some type of off orange. No signage

Talkimas

I GOT THAT ICE COLD WATER

darwins_trouser_crem

ONLY ONE DOLLAAAAAH

btambo

That dude is jacked but ALWAYS smiling. Can't walk past without getting water if I'm remotely thirsty.

uploadingmalware

ICE ICE COLD COLD WATAH WATAH

Euphoric_Prior_6876

I may live in California now but this jangle lives rent free in my mind more summer days than I’d like to acknowledge. Ice ice ice cold cold cold water water water.

EfficiencySuch6361

That dude deserves $2 per water at least. Providing real value in a particularly inaccessible area for such basic human needs

French_Taylor

Damn, haven’t seen that guy since Otakon left Baltimore. Is he still around?

EfficiencySuch6361

He’s usually up around bayview more so than downtown

Queen_Zelda

That man is the hero of every Baltimore convention

BaltSHOWPLACE

Came here to say this.

luneydesmond

The Running Man

darwins_trouser_crem

Came here to say this

citizenkrang

Yes, this.

MotoSlashSix

First person who came to mind.

gkibbe

Haven't seen him in so long

EfficiencySuch6361

My first thought too

Rondo27

We had Britney Dale in the Brooklyn/Glen Burnie for a while. I heard he moved out of town. Dude dressed like Britney Spears.

Jhon_doe_smokes

I moved to Maryland in 2016 And I was riding down Ritchie highway one afternoon and seen Brittney dale. I brought it up to me employer like there was this cross dresser in bright colors just on the road and he Instantly was like oh that’s just Britney dale. 😂

jcharney

Doin their thing in North Carolina, now!

SarahBlackfyre

Dare I ask what part of the state?

jcharney

Asheville area, if memory serves.

Southern-Score2223

Tracks

urkuhh

They’re in NC, now! Still living life fabulously, ofc. I met them when they did a video with Bmore’s “Da Twins” when they were doing their influencer era lol

zombiecattle

I’m pretty sure they rebranded and are now Madonna Girl Dale 💀

kanyewesanderson

They started going by Madonna Girl Dale back in like 2017 or so, because it was more "age appropriate."

Fruktoj

Used to hangout with Dale on the regular. He was friends with some friends. Very nice. Very weird. Very much Baltimore.

RevolutionaryFly5841

This

StinkRod

Used to call into 98 Rock when it was Kirk Mark Lopez, or maybe the current crew but I think it was kml

RevRagnarok

> Glen Burnie It's been a while... but didn't Elvis used to work at the Checkers in Glen Burnie?

Dizzy_Amphibian

Glad to see them represented here

jgupdogg

I remember from a distance thinking "check out that thong" then getting closer and realizing it looked more like Dee Snyder

Pale-Cantaloupe-9835

Is she still around?

AliceBTokls

I think he needs to bring it back

TonyDanza888

Jimmy the Flower Guy

tiddychef

umyumflan

Here's a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJhOOnpkFRM)!

Sufficient-Way-4795

Totally forgot about him. Dang back when the harbor wasnt dead.

ParoxysmAttack

The old guy in the bowtie and plaid shorts in Mount Vernon. I aspire to be that fly.

WearyDragonfly0529

That's Bowtie Bob Nelson!

Pale-Cantaloupe-9835

Omg, he’s still alive?

DiscountPoint

Ran into him a couple months ago. At a…small business networking event…

joshuahtree

So, how kinky are we talking?

DiscountPoint

Not. An actual networking event. Not sure what he was doing there, seemed he just wanted to hang.

Pale-Cantaloupe-9835

That sounds about right. Harmless.

MeKiing

maybe they paid him to be there as a local celebrity lol

Missdanib

He is! I’m friends with him on instagram

ericakane4

saw him on the street yesterday

rhymes_with_pail

he was at 771 for Os on sunday

justlikeyou14

OK, so he has a name! The man is beyond dapper!

k_pasa

Was hoping someone would mention Bowtie Bob. Guess he moved up that way because he used to be in Fed Hill/Riverside all the time few years ago

EfficiencySuch6361

Used to see in in fed hill CONSTANTLY

plastic__trees

ukulele jim

baltimorosity

he was a hopkins professor before he developed schizophrenia. i knew him from serving tables in charles village prior to his descent into homelessness and unfortunately, alcoholism.

SisterMinister

What’d he teach?

TheBananaStan

Jim is so nice

TBSJJK

Not when they kick him out of 7-11

TheBananaStan

Yeah he’s definitely got his issues and I’ve seen him in some pretty bad spaces but I’ve also had a great conversation or two with him when he’s totally sober/feeling right

beepbeepawoo

I've known Jim for a very long time. Haven't spoken to him in some years because the last time he threatened to set my dog on fire. Hes very cognizant of what he said and sticks with it.

StinkRod

Uhhh. Jim has different moods.

xXgiggleguy69Xx

just don't ask him about the weather, he doesn't like it when people do that for some reason

ayweller

I LOVE JIM SO MUCH

Initial-Woodpecker39

How has no one said Clancy?!

Pale-Cantaloupe-9835

They named a beer after him!!!!!

jessugar

Clancy is who I was going to say!

OldClerk

Fancy Clancy!! We love him

Inevitable-Lack-6763

It was Leroy Moore, RIP bud. “You’re a gorgeous goddess” will always echo in my head when I’m walking around Fells Pt.

damage1nc

aww RIP. he was even on an episode of Insomniac with Dave Attell in the early 2000's when he came to baltimore

evanthemayor

don't tell viacom but it's on the internet [https://citythatbreeds.com/2009/09/dave-attells-insomniac-in-baltimore/](https://citythatbreeds.com/2009/09/dave-attells-insomniac-in-baltimore/)

jcampbellmclean

Sir! Glad to see you here, & great post on Insomniac. Had never seen it.

Resident_Structure73

Leroy was the absolute BEST! Hey Buuuudy! I miss him always around the Christmas season and Fells Point Festival.

fellspointpizzagirl

Leroy used to always bring me a rose while I was at work and I'd give him an orange soda and a slice of pizza.

PigtownDesign

That guy who dressed like Brittany Spears down in Glen Burnie.

OsStrohsNattyBohz

Britney Girl Dale!

redmonkeyyyy

Bowtie Bob

PoopsExcellence

He singlehandedly made plaid shorts cool. Thanks Bowtie Bob!

dwolfe127

He is the coolest guy in Baltimore without a doubt.

darwins_trouser_crem

Mr Dennis in Fells

Durkheimenstein

Good man. Always friendly and takes a lot of pride in his kids, especially when his daughter Justice was working next-door to where he hangs out. If you see him this week, congratulate him on his sober-versary which was Saturday.

darwins_trouser_crem

That's tight. I'll probably see him on Thursday. Thanks fam

darwins_trouser_crem

Just saw him and told him congrats. 34 years is crazy. I was 1 when he cleaned up

Accurate-Lecture7473

Somewhere, I have a phot of my older son playing with his kids at Thames street park. We always catch up about the kids.

Accurate-Lecture7473

I’m a medic in the city, and every time we are in fells for a call, he tells me what ACTUALLY happened. Very helpful.

MrsNuggs

Growing up in Columbia we had Walkin' Randy. Just a dude that walked all over town, had a weird gait, and always moved his arm with his thumb out, so it looked like he was trying to hitch a ride, but he wasn't. He died some time in the mid 90's. Now Columbia has the Columbia Bike Guy. He's got some mental health issues but seems mostly harmless. [HoCo360: Athar Khan: The Columbia Bike Guy](https://hoco360.blogspot.com/2011/02/athar-khan-aka-columbia-bike-guy.html)

MarylandBlue

I was going to say Columbia Bike Guy, when I lived there many years ago it was always a highlight to see him.

[deleted]

I once saw the columbia bike guy at the long gate shopping center with his balls hanging out of his fly. Cool dude though.

MrsNuggs

Hence the 'mostly harmless" comment. :)

Spunkylover10

In Columbia do you Remember Elvira? That woman that that rode a bicycle in all black with a hockey mask over her face ? And then the guy Derrick (I think) that plays with baby dolls and collects trash on the corners near the mall?

Scrilla_Gorilla_

I miss the homeless guy that would freestyle for you as you were leaving Power Plant back in the early 00's.

DrWorstCaseScenario

Henry. He used to hang out down in fells as well and freestyle for you. His mom lived in the Carolinas and he would go back-and-forth between there and here. He always wanted $20 for a one night room stay… Which clearly was not what it was used for. But he was super nice. Haven’t seen him in a while. Hope he’s OK.

Scrilla_Gorilla_

Yea, been well over a decade since I saw him, but it used to be a weekly thing when I was in my partying days. He had a good niche, me and my friends always gave him money.

disneyprincesspeach

Ahh I remember him! I was hanging out with a new friend and Henry freestyled a rap about us being in love. It was the second time ever hanging out with this guy and it was awkward but Henry was great at freestyling lol.

B-More_Orange

Ice cold water guy and the old man who is always dressed up with bow ties

ladybear_

RIP Batman

DrkvnKavod

I think he was technically a County guy, but yes, dude did a lot of children's hospital events and as such should be genuinely commended 🫡

Southern-Score2223

...what?? When did he die??

DrkvnKavod

[2015](https://abcnews.go.com/US/route-29-batman-killed-maryland-highway-crash-batmobile/story?id=33137329). But the funeral at his synagogue was attended by hundreds.

B0skonovitch

Rip buster, family.

fellspointpizzagirl

He used to come in while I was at work and take out all the trash for me. He'd tell my boss that a woman shouldn't have to lift bags that heavy. I'd always try to give him some cash but he wouldn't take it, but he would take 2 slices of pizza lol.

B0skonovitch

Haha, what an amazing memory of him. My brother plays music full time in fells and introduced me to him one evening. The man took his hat off and insisted that our mother used it for her cigarette ashes over the floor (years ago before the indoor ban) he was just a glowing presence. The past few years, if I went downtown to visit my brother for lunch, we would pass by him on the streets, and he was always busy cleaning up the sidewalks. We would enjoy a short conversation and part ways. He always made my day.

AttorneyDense

Late 60s/early 70s. The very first person my mom and her new roommate ran into when they walked out of their apartment to begin exploring Baltimore together was Divine. She was walking towards them down the sidewalk and they were walking up - I'm assuming Divine noticed their gawking and popped out her tit as she walked by them, never speaking a word nor breaking her stride.

paturner2012

I'm just curious, how many folks answering this question are in the service industry?

jisa

Herman Heyn and his telescope. I was deeply saddened by his passing in 2021. Such a kind person.

RobNobody

I came here hoping to see if Herman was mentioned anywhere. The Baltimore Street Corner Astronomer. I swear I still have one of his post-its around somewhere declaring that I saw Jupiter.

MagneticMidnightMuse

R LONG! Ain't never seen him, but we all know his name 😂

TheButtholer69

I saw a guy on mlk with a frog puppet recently

damage1nc

anyone remember the trash bag man that would walk down Patapsco Ave near Cherry Hill? i've worked down here for about 16 years and i used to see him all the time. always walking, covered head to toe in black trash bags, even in the middle of summer.

throwaway-1386

I grew up in Lakeland and I saw that guy forever walking in the median up and down Patapsco

kpurdysr

I remember him growing up in Lakeland too.

AssesAssesEverywhere

I grew up in Lansdowne and we all called him Buckwheat.

UsualFirefighter9

Last time I saw that dude, he came outta nowhere, walking in the actual road and scared the shit outta me. I got into the next lane to avoid him.  Saved my life because I stopped at the Potee red light, looked in the rear view for him and was distracted long enough to miss being hit by the dumb sonovabitch that ran the light and took out the car next to me.

JhoodsLady

I remember him. I was always told he actually had money but didn't believe in materialistic things. He was very nice though.

damage1nc

i heard the exact same thing. one of my coworkers saw him at the old rofo about a decade ago and said he had a huge wad of cash.

Pale-Cantaloupe-9835

Anyone who goes to the ravens games.. real fan Dan.

baltimoreboii

lady that runs around in the middle of the street on north avenue

ParoxysmAttack

Which one?

Classic_Ostrich8709

Brittney girl Dale

rohlovely

There’s an old redneck in Sparrow’s Point who dresses up as holiday figures(Santa, Easter Bunny, etc) and decorates a golf cart for holidays. He drives around in his golf cart all dressed up handing out candy for weeks prior to holidays. It’s great.

Willerundi

The blonde woman that used to walk back and forth from St. Mary's to York Rd. to Towson. I can never remember her name. I have not seen her in years.

waffles8500

Sarah? apparently her family from another state came to pick her up during the pandemic.

PigtownDesign

So sad. I used to see her a lot and friends had a shop in Stoneleigh and tried to help her.

Top-You-9938

The Spirit of Towson. I hope she is well

Capital-Cheek-1491

She and I were friends, she has a home now and seems to be doing well.

DiscountPoint

Shorty. And does that weirdo in the bootyshorts still ride a tricycle around hampden?

APFernweh

Lou, the mayor. Yes

BaltimoreBourboner

Does Hot Dog Guy in Towson with his dog Cuervo count? So many late night dogs back in the day.

boarbar

He comes back every now and again. Cuervo has passed on sadly. Dude definitely saved my life with those dogs multiple times though.

beedlefraug

Ukulele Jim anyone?

izeek11

Hamilton cowboy

tunagirltunaworld

How has no one mentioned Dennis in fells? Who is that man asleep on the bench? Oh that’s just Dennis he is cool af.

rjr_2020

Wild Bill Hagy or Mr Splash?

evanthemayor

captain defense, running man, leroy, that guy with no limbs on president street, and the hollins market singing guy. that one's before my time

Crazy_Fruit_Lady

There’s a guy on Druid Park Drive in Woodberry who is always crouching or sitting in an open doorway. Sometimes there’s a woman with him. We (my fiancé and I) call them the Woodberry Power Couple. Sometimes they are in separate doorways on the same block. On those days, we speculate they are fighting.

Gannondorfs_Medulla

There seems to be a whole scene there. There's the old convenience store, which I really REALLY tried to like, and had hopes for it when the younger guy took over. But it was just too desperate feeling in there, and it was all shelf staple items. He built that weird two story garage, and there may have been a boat. And then there's the Power Couple units (I have a neighbor that refers to it as "the dirty house" even though it's multiple units.

the-largest-marge

that dude that used to walk route 40 bent half over until he passed away recently

boundtobeants

His name was Stan.

BirdFive

The guy I would see around Fed Hill who was completely blue.

APFernweh

There used to be a guy that would walk around Fells point all day every day wearing a super-tight weight belt.

fellspointpizzagirl

Buster/Busta. He passed away fairly recently. RIP.

postapocolypticsnail

Taller african american man? Would typically wear like bright colors and 90s style clothes?

JuVondy

Nyc here with roots and a love affair for b’more. We got this dude in brooklyn who rides around on his bike balancing comically large objects on his head. So far, I’ve seen an old crt tv, a garbage can, a couch and a stack of bar stools. I don’t even bat an eye anymore lol

AliceBTokls

There was a recently a guy walking a duck on the chain honorable mention are the people that have ravens in fed hill I think

jspivak

Anyone that rides a bike knows Miles. If you don’t ride a bike, and you live in fells or canton, you’ve seen Miles. Always dressed super fresh, usually has an outfit that matches his bicycle of the day. Nicest man ever, and a true ambassador of Baltimore. Not homeless or crazy, don’t know if that was a specific prerequisite of the question.

ghostfacelawyer

The mayor of Hampden

Wolfman3

Yes, the guy with the self-anointed persona who has historically lied about his age to creep on women on Tinder. While he may do a lot for local businesses, he is known to be ICK personified.

GrittyMcGrittyface

Used to live in hamden. Perfect summary.

PromiseOk3321

Led Zeppelin Dave by Hopkins

Mr_Salty87

He passed away last year, sadly. Always a really sweet guy when I chatted with him.

Over_Space_2731

Flower guy in Canton. He's lovely

fordprefect294

Columbia used to have Bicycle Guy with the mohawk helmet

noahsense

Years ago there was the Hampden skinny dude that never wore a shirt so he could show off the big swastika on his chest guy.

I feel like he is so well known that people assumed someone else would have already named him. I think I only saw 1 or 2 other people mention him.

Winter-Worry8410

the woman in fells who used to bang a lead pipe against the light poles to ward away the bad energy

Jedimindf_cked

RIP Led Zeppelin Dave

princesshabibi

There is a guy who walks around Arundel Mills with different costumes. Mostly Japanese style with a headband.

flight_risk

Is he black and rides a bike? There's someone in Ft. Meade/Severn who dresses like that and stands at certain intersections and does martial arts.

KJDub6

The Running Man

Spunkylover10

In Catonsville we have a man that gets drunk and lays on the sidewalk. Sometimes he cries but he gets taken to the emergency about four times a day. I have tucked him in on a bench at night before . He is always on Frederick rd and outside the fire station.
