When you download the podcast, a packet of adverts get inserted at the ad times in that podcast. These are selected by software, usually based on your location, so the adverts you hear aren’t necessarily the ads I hear, and the companies advertising don’t generally specifically place themselves in set podcasts.
I’d love to know what makes the algorithm think that a white-ass Slavic gal like me from Warsaw, Poland needs to be advertised a dating show for Latinx ppl
I listen through PocketCasts in the UK and I only ever get ads for other podcasts. At this point I'd take some problematic ads just for the change of scene.
