You bring up a good point. I don't recall the last weekend where there was something for basically every demographic that was as well received as these films.
The Fathers have arrived! Took my dad to see it this weekend, he typically hates seeing movies in theaters and always rathers waiting to watch at home, but ever since he saw a trailer for the movie he has asked multiple times to see it. He really enjoyed it
[Kingdom Vs War Vs Dawn Vs Rise](https://www.the-numbers.com/movies/custom-comparisons-extended/Kingdom-of-the-Planet-of-the-Apes-(2024)/Rise-of-the-Planet-of-the-Apes/Dawn-of-the-Planet-of-the-Apes/War-for-the-Planet-of-the-Apes#tab=day_by_day_comparison)
Will be interesting to see how close Kingdom can get to outgrossing Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It's 6th weekend is now higher than any other installment in the franchise.
I think once itās all said and done the money from theatrical, digital, and streaming will get this film a pretty decent profit or at least one good enough for Disney to finish out this trilogy.
This happens a lot on successful movies that have declined to mid single digits. But I think Father's Day weekend has something to do with the terrific hold
WTF 4% decrease on its sixth week is insane.
They should have released 'Apes' on Father's Day and Inside Out 2 on Mother's Day.

Inside Out has the families. Bad Boys has the adults. But the teens... they can only go bananas for Apes. ![gif](giphy|14uSvetsWYt0Ri)

Nah nah monkeys are for the real sophisticated men š¦
And yet Iāve seen all of them in theatres. Iām the demographic melting pot
Kingdom actuallt was very patient and mature in its execution and I can easily see teens getting tikton brain attention span issues with the movie.

Terrific holds. Will actually come quite to *Rise* domestically. Advantage of no PG-13 competition and Super Bowl marketing.
Did you mean Rise? Because its already passed War's final total
I know this is mainly because of double features with Inside Out 2, but still what an insane hold.
That's one wierd-ass double feature.
Wait, what? These movies are being shown together?
Yeah, at drive ins. I have sought out stranger double features before. I swear to god a local drive in did Videodrome and Shazam one time.
studios always do this to boost numbers. Often people might only watch the first movie, but the ticket is paid so whatever.
So is the ticket price split in half among both films or is it doubled and applied to both when reported in box office earnings?
I cannot picture drive-in grosses resulting in this big of an effect.

Holy shit, amazing hold
400 million possible?
Yes
I wonder what the international numbers look like and also itāll definitely make its budget back on the domestic side

Cinemascore has honestly never felt less relevant.
It actually grossed more this Sunday than last Sunday. Crazy good.
Still no word on digital release date. Going by past Disney releases, I'd assume July 9 (two months)
its actually refreshing that they dint anounced they would release it for streaming after 45 days. Might be the key to bring people to the theater
APES TOGETHER STRONGš¦š¦
Lasting from Mother's Day to Father's Day is very impressive.

Disney's Xmas party will be amazing this year.
Looks like it will break even eventually by Fourth of July, if not then the latest could be end of July.
Is it possible we can still get it to $400M even with the competition?
What competition?
Inside Out 2 of course. And Despicable Me 4 and Deadpool and Wolverine are coming out soon.
If only the overseas numbers was as strong

Wonderful hold
