Every day for the last decade has been a sad day for the UK with the level of sadness just steadily increasing as we increase our stranglehold on ourselves more and more. The really depressing part is how many people think that this is fine.
Indeed. Why would anybody think that the Conservatives are supporting the primary sector? Don't the farmer remember what the Conservatives did to the coal miners? Or was that ok, because they are an "out group"?
Couldn’t give a shit. UK voted for it. UK can learn from its own mistakes. And maybe this will encourage many more people to vote in the future so when the time comes when the question is put back to the people they will get off Facebook and Twatter and actually vote.
And that's the problem.
You can't rely on that. You have to vote.
My personal view is that I don't care how you vote, but if you don't vote when eligible then that's worse.
You don’t believe people are stupid enough to vote leave? What if I’d tell you there are people who are stupid enough to not vote because they’re speculating on the stupidity of others?? Would that change your mind??
The reason people didn't vote is because they didn't think there would be consequences. Discussing the folly of their actions is the least voters should do.
It was an advisory referendum only. The first person I spoke to about it on the 24th said they were shocked and dismayed by the result - she had only voted for Brexit to shake the govt out of it's complacency. She didn't really want to leave the EU. The govt could have rowed back on the result if they had wanted to-only a minority of the electorate actually voted for Brexit.
It's a bit harsh what the other commenter replied, but I sympathize tbh.
Also it was the same terms of a referendum afaik (advisory, post legislative) that brought the UK into the then EC in the 70ies. It has precedent in the UK.
I think we've reached a point where we have been round-a-boutting with this Brexit thing so much that it has simply lost its trending spot to articles like the one in the mirror a few days ago where the headline did not advise ladies to put ice cream in their yoohoos to cool off this summer!

I didn't vote. I wasn't on Fb or Twitter. I just thought there was no point, no one would be stupid enough to vote Leave.
And that's the problem. You can't rely on that. You have to vote. My personal view is that I don't care how you vote, but if you don't vote when eligible then that's worse.
Perhaps voting should be compulsory like Australia Thailand etc....
